- Digging up relics and artifacts at a location called desperation mountain. Severe land conditions that the early settlers of New England carved farms and homesites into. We took our metal detectors there to see what we could find and do a little exploring. Old buttons, dinnerware knifes, buckles and all kinds of old stuff. We went and visited two cellar holes that had homes on them back in the 1700s and what a wonderful thing that is.

I'm thinking it's a charcoal kiln.
3 matching upholstery buttons (chair)????
That sounds pretty reasonable to me! 👍
Strange Button's very large!!, Nice Work !!
Nice. Do you always finish off Charlie's sentences Dame? 😎
The 8ft long hole is for a smoke house I believe
Would be nice if they would check it out more !
That’s exactly what I was thinking…That’s is just to cool….
Continue im inside i won't get wet
Nice dandy button
Glad you found some nice relics guys, even if you got a bit wet doing it. Amazing how much you keep finding after returning over time. I really enjoyed that small cave structure that has all the appearances of an old oven for bread baking, tho it could also have been a safe storage for winter meat?! This is a puzzler! Maybe you could contact someone with historical knowledge about such things and have them take a look?! It might be of some significance. Whoever made it sure knew how to work with stone, which makes me think Scots/Irish.
Here's a fun article I found on early stone structures. www.connecticutghosthunter.com/newsletter/march-09th-2018
nice, Lesa.
I'm probably gonna jinx you here, but it's been a few episodes and no spoonage???? Keep diggin guys!
Desperation Mountain desperately needed to be touched by NT. Its incredible the time, effort and creativity it takes to piece a site back together. I love how it reveals itself to you the more you find. Thank you.
Lime kiln?
Charlie and Dame, you had a "BIG DANDY" day!! Happy dog gone diggin boys!!😁😁
Relics and newer buttons from grandma's housecoat? Those are odd.
Wow!! Inner section of the show buckle, 3 matching snaps/buttons; possibly upholstery 🤷 some great buttons. A forearm length dinner knife blade 😲 You found plenty of great relics there 😀👍
Those lids, if you hold that glass up to the sun, they fire off in an incredible orangy/firery color. That’s how you know it’s true milk glass. Yours would be called “opalescent” milk glass.
Great episode! 🖕
I'm thinking it's possibly a meat smokehouse. Fill the cave with the wood and material light it up and the smoke fills the shack built outside the cave opening. I don't know but cool spot.
Could the curvy stacked rock be for diverting water since the land there has so much rock and/or ledge? Unless since seeing it from the alleged cellar hole has unbaffled the baffling.
Great looking buttons for the both of you. Awesome knife.
Enjoyed watching. Very interesting seeing that root cellar type thing. Thanks for sharing. Take care and be safe.
Good morning Charlie, another great video so thanks for sharing.
great a/v! both informative and entertaining. what type of metal detector do you use?
Awesome day you guys Great day I'll see you on the next when stay blessed
Best regards from Poland, great movie.!!
Once again a great video and even greater finds well done you guys and thanks
well charlie and dame maybe the people at the rocky area were raising rocks/lol. other then that not much could grow. still a great day.
Do you ever find old abandoned cemeteries or lone graves on sites you find in the mts.?
The old dinner knives have a turned up end. Anyone know why? Good hunt guys
i enjoy these series so much more then then the ones that mostly go for the shiny and valuables . not rushing , personal items with a history behind them is to me so much more valuable
Pizza oven
N.H. finest
Enjoyed the episode 👍
Smoke house for curing hams and bacon
Charlie and Dame the rock oven or whatever it was used for was really something. I will be thinking about it all day just like the last time you were there. You fellas keep digging I’ll keep watching
You guys are awesome on digging!!!
Need to pack a rain poncho in your packs.
Colonial Bushcraft shelter area🤔😁
You're having weather similar to what we are having now only its cold enough for sweaters and jackets bbrr. That was a lovely dandy button Charlie and a couple of dinner knives (I was told the strange shape at the end was for eating peas?) The button shaped things are different to anything I've seen before so have no idea what they can be but its great you and Dame found some relics in spite of the rain and thunder lol. Take care my friends, good luck and happy hunting Mary-Ellen LFOD

The one "button" with the knobuole looks saddle or seat thick between inner and outer.

Are those things possibly tufting buttons for furniture?
Enjoyed!!
