Great video! I think Sylvi’s mystery coin might be a NJ copper. You can see the horizontal scroll pretty strongly with the horse head above, and curvy bits of the plow below.
I've been watching your channel for well over a year now and just love watching every week. My boyfriend and I each bought metal detectors and are taking our first trip with them to the beach this weekend. You were 100% our inspiration so wish us luck and thank you again for the Quarter Hoarder Warder bottles! We can't wait to use them!
What a great hunt Jason and Doug. So good too see Carol and Ken along with Stef and Nic! And I got to see some other detectorist like patty who found some great finds as well. Doug, u seen a buckle like that one lollol!😁 I don't recall you diggin one buddy! The one buckle Nic found reminds me of what a lady might have worn back in the day. Great find!
Had a great time that day, glad to see all the finds here, I got skunked, it was nice that the field wasn't trashy, old nails, a brass spigot, and some melted lead. Hope you guys make it up for another hunt in the future!
That was a fun hunt with you guys. Doug I wanted to tell you, the shirt you where wearing when we got our picture together, my wife was cracking up over the saying on it. 😂😂
Back in the 1970's or 80's there was a documentary on TV about a couple of guys who were the first to metal detect Revere Beach in MA. (Revere Beach was like Coney Island only going back farther) It was astounding what they found. I think they found over $100,000 in silver per year in scrap value coins plus almost one gold and or diamond ring per day. They worked mainly in shallow water (up to 6ft?) while pulling a little boat with them. They had a shop set up right on the beach. I have recently tried to find info on that documentary but it is not to be found on the internet. I wonder if any of you guys remember that.
Years ago, after a particularly large storm (maybe 1991’s “Perfect Storm”?) A detectorist discovered an old colonial era musket on Revere Beach. A rust encased barrel and almost no stock left but just goes to show that no place is ever hunted out.
I heard a story about Revere Beach. After a storm in the 80s, the coins were naturally sorted by weight/denomination. And you would move from one patch to another digging only that variety of silver coin. Sometimes not even digging, just kicking the sand piles and watching the silver fly out.
I live in Salem, MA and have been on the search for a tree shilling for the past 35 years. I had a friend who found one at a spot I've been to a bunch of times, just missed it. Good luck out there and thanks for sharing.
Wow. I think I was hoping you would find one as much as you were. That would be exciting searching somewhere you know there are things like that coin! I’m sorry you didn’t find one, but there can always be another dig.
It was a wicked fantastic weekend!! I had a blast digging with you guys and hanging out. You will have to come back up for the tree coin hunt! I just scored a very old field property a couple days ago! Much too big for myself 😆 there could be one there!
We had a great time up there, thanks for telling me about it. If you need help with that new field just let me know. I have a ton of frequent driver miles and don’t mind using em! 🙂
@@QuarterHoarder anytime you want to come up let me know! I've been eyeing this field a long time! The owner said noone detected it before either. Pretty sure it goes back to the 1600s. Going to a 1820 house I got invited to today! Thanks so much brother!
You may not have gotten lot's or a shilling but you did have lot's of fun and in the end that is everything five stars my friends thank you for sharing
Awesome video and hunt ! Congratulation for all ya`ll finds ! Good luck and best wishes on ya`ll next hunt ! Come on Doug you were suppose to find that pine tree coin what happen ? Jason that was a really cute little buckle you found !
Historically, there are four named oceans: the Atlantic, Pacific, Indian, and Arctic. However, most countries - including the United States - now recognize the Southern (Antarctic) as the fifth ocean. (The reference to the 7 seas comes from ancient times and no one is sure what they considered a sea ) a sea is defined as a portion of the ocean that is partly surrounded by land. Given that definition, there are about 50 seas around the world. But that number includes water bodies not always thought of as seas, such as the Gulf of Mexico and the Hudson Bay. Just a bit of trivia! Thanks for sharing your hunts!
Dudes, the dagger thingy at 22:16 may not be plastic. Don’t forget about Bakelite! Bakelite wouldn’t make the item hundreds of years old but Bakelite definitely fools a lot of people, and they assume it’s plastic, and therefore wrongly assume an item is newer than it really is. Cool stuff though.
Fun adventure, too bad they sold out so quickly. Looked like fun. Just a note that tombac is still used today for a lot of things, just not for buttons.
@@QuarterHoarder wow!! My birthday is in September😁. That would be awesome September is a lot hotter in Arizona. also depends where you go though Do you know what area you maybe going to? I am extremely new to metal detecting have not been able to go out a whole lot because of medical issues but whatever chance I do get my brother and I try to go. We've tried lots of new things panning for gold hunting for fire agate and Metal detecting. I watch your videos every week it is very encouraging I love to see the friendships you guys have through this I've been sick and in and out of hospitals for 15 years but a few years ago had surgery that has changed some of that and I'm not in the hospital is often so my brother started taking me out places to experience new things. I thank you very much for the videos you do who knows maybe when you come to Arizona we can meet up
A person at my coin club got a tin of foreign coins for 5 dollars and there was a pine tree shilling in it he got 13k at auction for it it was a new varrity never know
That was an awesome vid of the group hunt- looks like you and everyone had a blast making new friends, meeting old ones and scoring some great finds. As someone who's been blessed enough to find a Pine Tree Shilling (2008 in Acushnet Mass), I was rooting hard to see someone nab one, but I'm a firm believer they're still out there. Perhaps on your next visit!
Hey I have a question. I'm disabled on a fixed income but have a couple hundred dollars to spend on getting started metal detecting. I live in Oregon what would be the best detector for my budget?
"You get a savvy detectorist who will dig it and they get rewarded"
Amazingly I found a pine tree Shilling in Suffolk, Virginia 2 weeks ago. Definitely a find of a lifetime for me!!
Great video! I think Sylvi’s mystery coin might be a NJ copper. You can see the horizontal scroll pretty strongly with the horse head above, and curvy bits of the plow below.
Doug is a superstar ! How did this horse tack get here? I guess someone was riding a horse.
Of course you had a life before Jason. What a guy!

So great to see y’all out meeting new friends and new knowledge. Nice comeback on the horse buckle Doug.
Saw the recovery of an Oak Tree Two Pence this past weekend in Massachusetts I think a 1662. Good Luck with the needle in the haystack!
Stef is awesome with identifying!!
Thanks Karin! I do my best! 😉
Doug....... you're still the man!

Great to see everyone having fun. Excellent show as always guys.

Hey hey!

What an awesome day... no pine tree shilling but great friends to hang with in RI.
I see that shirt, Lindsay! Great video guys!
Thanks Brad. We really enjoyed New England and can’t wait to get back up there. Seems like someone could follow those rock walls for miles.
Great finds for a lot of folks. Thanks for sharing.
It was great to have you Jason. You and Doug are more than welcome to any Dirt Fishing Adventure!

Terrific finds, beautiful old coins and buttons. Chris got a cool dagger bear head handle.👋👍
Looks like an awesome event! I know Patty, she gave me my first detector! And nice to see Wicked Digger too!
Some nice coins and relics this week. It was so nice of you to feature the other diggers finds from the event. Happy hunting and be well

Awesome hunt guys, such old different coins than you are usually showing. Leave it to Doug to find a dirty girl red head. Lol!

I did not see one coin ( except the sl) that would grade above good.
Hey what's up Jason use going to the Coventry hunt in Rhode island on the 21st
I’m not sure if we’re gonna be able to make the 21st hunt but the area chosen sounds incredible. If you go let me know how you make out.
Hey alright it would of been great to meet you here t yeah I'll be there brotha I'll Def let u know I'll be making a video
Why does Doug's coin say "LiberTard" on the back? LMAO
Jason, how do you like the legend against the Nox 800?

Great content as always audio wasn't great kind of scratchy just thought I would give you aheads up incase it's an equipment problem.
Yeah my main mic got damaged on the trip up so I had to record open air. Wind noise is no one’s friend.
@@QuarterHoarder No problem just wanted to give you a heads up I really enjoy your videos 😊 👍
Was that Dean Withrow from The History Hunter? I miss his metal detecting videos!
I’m not sure his last name he was a nice guy. He hunts mostly in Martha’s Vineyard which I was drooling over just a bit. 🙂
Yes it is.

Is it a Beaver?
Train track Indian ??? (13:08)
Found a whole and a cut Pine Tree Shilling in eastern Maryland so the New Englanders do not have a total monopoly on these coins
Wow, congratulations! You just never know what’s gonna turn up.
No one can name 7 oceans.
