Ring ,my dad made one out of a silver quarter. Kept tapping it with a ?? Not for sure,A silver spoon?he made a small brass ball peen hammer out of a brass rod,He may have used that,he made a small tool to pinch leed sinkers on to fishing line,out of a brass pencil sized piece of brass.

You are probably too young to remember, the old folks "thumbed their noses" which was a gesture similar to our flipping the bird or giving the finger. Place thumb on nose and wiggle fingers.

The little guy thumbing his nose looks like something I found 50 years ago. Walking in a remote area in Arizona where mining and ghost towns throughout. I saw something sticking up out of a sand wash. I grabbed it to see how stuck it might be and it came right out. It was a tobacco cutter, similar to a paper cutter. It had a decorative handle, about 2 feet long and at the hinge point was this little devil thumbing his nose. If my mind is right it was a counter top cutter for merchants to use. I believe it was red devil tobacco? Again...50 years ago.

I found a local dog tag from 1901. It was issued by the township not the county as it was too much to expect people to travel all the way to the county seat. Dog licenses were originally put in place with the funds going to local farmers that had livestock killed by running dogs.
I'm am truly sad that you are having to deal with limes disease, Brad. It is most certainly a process, but it's very fortunate that it was caught relatively early. Unfortunately, this is one of the pitfalls of our hobby. Please get feeling better so that you can do what you enjoy most.
Ok I know exactly what the gremlin looking thing is. I have it in an older Hot rod magazine , it was an after market hood ornament called the Heckler. I think it was originally chrome !
I know you have no control over it but you tube is getting too carried away with the advertisements. Too long and can’t skip them. Causes me to move on to something else, Sorry.😞

I find more nails and bottle caps, either way always an adventure. I used a whites treasure pro and was watching some detecting podcast, I was advised to upgrade my old detector and a good basic upgrade would be the Thriple Score, the mentioned another detector but I do not remember the name. What is your thoughts, I would love a $1000 detector but it is out of my budget. I guess the triple score is a $400-$500 detector I guess. ✌🏻💚🙏🏻 thank you for these vids and any info.
