Hi Brad. Ron here from Dirt Fishing Adventures. Great video! Funny story. The reason we got permission to the house across the street is because I dared my buddy Lance to go ask. He's very nervous to ask when we go out so I challenged him. He nailed it and next thing you know, the owner was letting everyone over and giving tours of the house. What a day and I'm glad you found some cool stuff. Hope to see you again at another adventure. Ron
@melodiepariseau4722 be right there! 😆 I have extra machines too. My nephew just moved from Chester Vermont on a huge old farm and I didn't get a chance to detect his property before he moved.
I stand corrected, the Minnesota Bluesocks did not win the World series in 1897. Superb job on the video as always and I'm looking forward to some future shenanigans together!
Awesome video Brad! It was a fun event and I'm glad I got to meet you and do some swinging together! Thank you for the shout out and hope to dig again with you in the future man! Stay safe brother 💯
Once again awesome to see some of our friends in your video, Brain the Silver Assassin, Scott from 802 Outdoors, and Chris the Wicked Digger. So much fun watching you and Jason interact! Awesome to see the event coordinator pop a big Silver! Congrats on the Silver utensil. Keep up the great videos!
I love your content Brad. Only problem is that there are so interesting, the time flies by. I dread when you come on at the end and say "Well that does it for me."
I absolutely love that sugar spoon Brad! What a fun weekend it was! I am shocked that you have never found a hem weight! I have found a few round ones and out back behind the house, I found my first square hem weight! Thanks for the cameo and the amazing video as always! Wicked happy hunting!! 👊
That first guy you paired up with to compete against...you two should make a small series together, you spark off each other in a very entertaining way. Good episode.
Loved seeing the silver spoon find...in my vintage set of silver, the jelly spoon is square shaped, but some vintage sugar spoons were also squared on the end. It is so much fun to see how you guys are bonding over your days of metal detecting and having (as men sometimes do) friendly competitions. Looks like such fun!
Loved Part 2 as well as Part 1! It's sooooo fun to watch the dynamics between you and Jason the Quarter Hoarder! You two are my all-time favorite detecting shows.
Loved the last two videos. You and Jason need to collab more often; you guys are so fun to watch together! I also loved the sugar shovel; how many diggers can say they found one of those?
Well, that was fun. Got reminded of an old Price is Right game - Higher/Lower I call it because I can't remember what they called it where people had to guess the price of a prize - when you were guessing the date on one of the old coins someone found. Learned about what the top part of the axe handle is called, moulding rail hooks, hem weights, and that there was a piece of table ware called a Sugar Scoop. Not a bad start to learning so early in my day. I try to learn at least one new thing every day even if it's just that there are such things as hem weights. Today I've learned 4. I've been up 45m, just getting daylight here. Some threat free time in a world of chaos is good for a person. Thank you.
Hello Brad, some of your story's bring a tear to my eye's and then the next one I hurt from laughing so hard. you sir are a great person with a big Heart. thank you for shearing you trip's with all of us. p.s. i smile every time i see you rang my bell. LonnieRay
Brad that looks like a salt shovel to me. I have my grandmother’s salt cellar and it has a small shovel like that with it. I loved the video! It was fun watching Jason and Rich on your show!
😊 Wow Brad! It was wonderful to see a bunch of grown excited men standing around a "find" ... all going "Ohhhhhh! Made me grin! I enjoyed the adventure and all rhe finds that made it to your video. Thanks for sharing! 😊
Stef Diggs found the “Wilson” spoon. What a great video. I hope to someday have a network like you guys have - it certainly looked like it really added to fun. Thanks for sharing.
Oh shoot , I wanted to see the " rail hook " thing again , We needed a better look , What was it ? Awesome show, good bunch of guys ,Thanks for sharing .
Brad, I was late to the party today. However y’all do not disappoint. I just love the fun banter between you and Jason… you are both funny guys! I learned that I tossed the hem weights belonging to my grandmothers and felt a fool 😊. When you first popped the dirt out, I thought it to be a belt, well not buckle, but the ones where ribbon or leather attaches to the bar, then comes back over and through. Well that’s the limit of my intellect for the day. I must admit, when you said it was a weight… I hummed “Uhn Hun?”… the Russians were smarter, they sewed their jewels into the hems! ( While escaping sadly) Lol, I guess the average new American house wives did not have jewels to use. But to weight layers of dress hems, so as not let the wind blow up and show the ankles or god forbid knees, as it would have been scandalous😂😂😂. Thanks again for the fun! Happy weekend to all. Big Fan TK in KY💞
I really love that you and Jason are digging together you guys need to get together and dig with his crew or him come dig with you. I think Richard Nixon and his Bunch would have a blast
We used weights like that in our female summer uniform we wrapped with tape to make square to fit in corner of jacket to hold it in place year 1964 lol great video as always ❤
Brad, Brad! I could watch you all day long. It was so much fun watching Jason and the rest of the guys finding treasures. Rich had to add a few remarks too. Thank you for including all of us! Love ya! ❤
Hem Weights are from the 1700's-1865 and use on dresses, coats and curtains. I found Hem weights mine was silver and this week I just found one at a 1834 house.
That last piece of silver looks like something that was given to young children as a food utensil, known as a 'Pusher' (not drugs) helped them move food around a plate.
Found an 1838 cent with a hole in the middle in my grandparents back yard. The date in the foundation I believe says 1790's. My pastor had a detector and let me try my hand back in1985.

Great show. Great group hunt.
Congrats Brad
Always look forward to Friday’s and the hunt
Yeah, Brad, that sugar shovel is a unique piece. It was common to have garden parties back then. probably lost at that time. Excellent find.
In my opinion a little small for sugar - maybe a master salt spoon.
I love your and Jason's channel. The two of you together made my diggin morning. Happy swingin. The silver spoon shape you found was a sugar spoon.👍❤️
Thank you Brad and everyone for the adventure and seeing some amazing finds especially the sugar spoon !

The lead disc is commonly called a Curtain Weight - sewn in to keep them hanging straight. Sometimes used in dresses.
Another great video brother. Thanks 💯✌

Hope you had a wonderful visit to Ct! Did you stop by Kent Falls???? The Litchfield hills are very pretty.
That axe head would be something great to try to restore!!!
