- Our primary bedroom was in desperate need of a makeover and when I say desperate, I mean DESPERATE. In today's video, we are starting the transformation of our primary bedroom and I'm taking you through the entire process with me to show you that room makeovers don't happen over night like it sometimes seems online. In takes a lot of planning, time, and money. This is part 1 of our bedroom makeover. In part 2 I'll walk you through where we purchased everything, budget, and a final reveal once all of our decor and art comes in!

What stuck with me was you commenting on your home looking like everyone else’s home previously. I hadn’t noticed but in watching many home decor vlogs I’ve noticed with modern design - so many ppl have ALL the same decor linked in their blogs or Amazon store. It makes me wonder if it’s their style or just a style they like. This has challenged me in so many ways personally (in a good way) - since I’ve been waiting MONTHS for my new place to be ready (new build). I’m grateful for this time bc I went from Scandinavian to Japandi to Modern Organic (which I absolutely love) but now I’m challenging myself to style my home to fit me and truly me, not who I’d like to be… just ME. Who knew how deep this could get ? Lol

Yes please, please do a guest room/office I need a lot long type desk top but want it hidden room guests site. The room only has 1 long wall 15ft. The other is along side it 10 ft long, as he other has a centered window with short walls on @side wall across from longest wall has acloset door..with a short wall all ng the second d of it..big challenge.. can't seem to figure out how to fit in a twin bed , desktop without showing.other then opening ng the he wall and putting a Desk top in there with shelving for supplies..and use mirrored sleep ding doors.i own the hse.so that is okay to do..help...

LOVED THE MAKEOVER! One thing that made me sad to hear is that you can’t take advantage of your natural lights. Have you considered trying clear window film that can give you the privacy without blocking some natural light coming in! I love your tall ceilings so they would just draw your eyes up. I too have been thinking of how to enjoy my windows without seeing our neighbors. So I have been looking at them, I just can’t decide if I would like a tinted look- (in front windows of the house, during night time they can see in, you need to close them with curtains at night time, but during the day time it makes your windows pop with the black mirror tint and natural light coming in.) and thought of using the translucent light pattern for the side and back windows.
I like the idea of just adding the clear film to the bottom windows so I can still look out if I peek out to view the street but couldn’t see the bottom into our space. Or if I should just take it all the way up and not see around my house, which I don’t like it as much. I like curtains but I only have blinds at the moment for the lower level of the house. From a designer standpoint any suggestions to maximize natural light for as long as possible? It’s the only solution I have been able to come up with in my space without curtains collecting dust/cat hair or my cat trying to go up them😒😂

Why do I feel like the keypad door is the best idea ever. Ahh the safe feels. But what if you have kids/s? So do I need to buy multiple knobs or is it silly at that point?
My grandpa always say to check all my doors and windows and lock my room door and I feel like this eliminates the safety hazard of not being able ti easily access someone/some room, as all members of family will know code.

Kiva, how did you choose the type of chairs to purchase from wayfair? I'm afraid to buy chairs via,wayfair because I'm afraid they won't be comfortable.
Instead of closed blinds on the windows why not use a privacy film? It would give you the privacy you need and let in more light. There’s so many options to choose from on Amazon.

Lovely progress so far. Have you thought of frosted/one way privacy film for your windows? Although you mentioned hue light bulbs, you could still get sunlight with a translucent frosted film that clings to windows with just water.
