Great video bro! Absolutely love the lore of this game. It came at the perfect time for me as I've have been so hungry for lore because I have been playing the game a ton lately. My theory is that all the ashen people are the locations of people who were killed/solidified by the radius initially coming in, but the memories and sounds are from the mirrored world. All the mimics and other entities are previous explorers and/or people who were brought in from the mirrored world and memories trapped in the ashen bodies. The spawn are animals who disappeared/killed/transported, which is why there aren't any ashen animals or anything. I am sure about the spawn being animals, as they are different from all other entities. I also believe that the radius in the sky isn't an orb, but is actually a planet and we are like their moon, which is why it appears as a solar eclipse to us, which makes sense. The world that is in between us is actually the mirrored world. This orb looks identical to a solar eclipse, which makes so much sense. Also something that isn't touched is how fast time passes in the radius, it passes 10x as fast as it does in vanno, which contributes to the theory that vanno is outside or on the outskirts of the radius. This means that if the worlds are mirrored, the mirrored world is at a different point in time. Another possibility is that the radius isn't a radius at all, but is actually the asteroid itself, which could explain the traveling between locations not quite matching up. I guess we will have to wait until the next game to get answers, especially to see if we get to play as explorer 61 again, or to see which ending it continues from if any.
So excited for Into The Radius 2. I know a lot of people have gotten the game early & all say its amazing, even though its in early access still. There is a ton of content already in the game, from massive selection of weapons to the desperately needed gun racks, there is also a few bugs need ironed out
My theory is that it's not necessarily a mirrored world, but a reflection into the past, and the radius is purely a chaotic storm of spacetime, where nothing truly exists. Leading up to the events of the radius, your actions did impact the past, such as the stolen wages or the party grenades. Katya is, or was real, and so is the explorer, however everything that was consumed by the radius ceased to exist. The radius itself is an anomaly, and is constantly making mimics of what things have entered it. It however is chaotic in nature, and doesn't under space or time, so as it reforms people and things, entities are created that are mimics of previous existences. Consciousness and memories seem to be the glue to the chaotic nature of the radius that the world is formed around it. If we are going by the idea that Katya is in part the god of the radius, prehaps the reason why a lot of the landscape is shaped around her memories, is that because she is the one who set it off in the first place, and so a lot of the glue that sticks the chaos of the radius is connected to her. The god, if not Katya directly, could have taken Katya's consciousness as a conduit to form into an entity.
As I mentioned in part 2, While it sounds weird, it feels like everything is fake and that we, as so called explorer 61, are living in some kind of a dream or mental, near schizophrenic pshycocis judging by the missions in/around the factory as well as the wedding. Almost as if we worked there as well, but got a pschycocis episode, which led us to doing what the "UNPSC" tasked us to do, stealing that white case, blowing up that door, getting the ingredients and (perhaps accidentally) blowing up the wedding. Perhaps Katya is our therapist, playing along to aid our mental disorder, or maybe Katya is someone we made in our mind. Perhaps the ending of ITR1 is the government/a judge dooming us for our actions, where we ultimately commit suicide OR shoot our therapist/imaginary friend and "free" them.. ..Something I thought of while listening to this and working my irl job, not at a factory. (Repost of my og comment on pt2 as this video is more recent/may get more attention by people who would perhaps like to add to this)
Adding onto this, perhaps the "KGB" questioning after the explosion in the factory was the government or our mental institute asking where we, "explorer 61", were
what if its not a 'mirrored world' per se. at least... not in the way we've been looking at it. 'iteration successful' some of our journey has happened before. likely multiple times. while we are probably the first to make it to the end of the castle and get the grail, i dont think we are the first to do any of the other stuff. I think events in the radius did impact the past, but i think those events have already happened and were replaying them and learning about what happened after once we do. The biggest reason is the KGB bit. someone else got that far before us, back before the KGB was dissolved. i just wrapped the first game last night, dropping into EA for the sequel today and cant wait til they add the story to it
Ok so I’m going to state my theory, borrowing heavily from Stephen King’s the Dark Tower series. So when the asteroid hit near Factory (I’m pretty confident that factory is the diamond mine where the item landed), it awoke some sort of eldritch god that had been slumbering beneath the earth, maybe even in the diamond mine (that would be a fire final level, even if it was sort of done in ITR early access). This entity then created a sort of beacon (like the dark tower) acting not like a nexus for all worlds, but a connector between a few, and the todash darkness (extra dimensional space, like the outer realms from dnd) which is maybe where this entity came from. Using this extra dimensional space, the entity begins to experiment with our world (or maybe others as well) using this extra dimensional power to create twisted, warped reflections of our own creations, for some unknown purpose. He could be trying to conquer other worlds with “improved” military tech. Anyway, our world was not originally linked to the other world (at least I don’t think so). However, when the entity created us, we were allowed, using our free will, to interact with other worlds, specifically that of Katya’s. That would explain why these linked events only happen within we do something, like planting the bomb or grabbing the anomaly from the ruined building in village. We’re are used to extend his influence beyond this singular realm, but he wanted to see how a creation like this with free will would react, hence the trials. Idk what will happen with ITR two tho.
what if explorer 61 is a mimic but has a core life the fragments do but for some reason the other entities dont destroy it (maybe the core could be invisible to the entities somehow) this would maybe explain why the explorer can come back to life
I have a question, so the God of the Radius told us that we never realy existet, dosent that mean that all the nodes that we found, all the Missions that we get, all memories from the figures and all the cassets where exblorere 12 is speaking, are all fake and made up from the God of the radius, and that so the lore just is that it testet us and that there nevere some one died becouse of us in a mirrowed world becouse its all made up and createt from the God of the radius? (English is not my first language, so sry for the misspellings in the text)
