    My only problem with TTG isnt anything to do with the show really. It's the absolute addiction Cartoon Network has to it. CN strangles other shows out of their airtime to fuel TTG and they even outright murder shows that don't catch on quickly and become a success like TTG.

    • @starberrysparkler
      @starberrysparkler 5 лет назад +31

      Yeah. I don't really like that either...

    • @billlupin8345
      @billlupin8345 5 лет назад +57

      Lost me at "success like TTG."
      While CN insists that it's their best rated show, the fact is CN's viewership ratings have plummeted over the past decade, and of their shows, TTG scrapes the bottom of the barrel on google search popularity.
      They don't kill other shows because they don't catch on quickly. They do it because TTG is some exec's baby, and they're in denial.

    • @tomo4977
      @tomo4977 5 лет назад +20

      @@billlupin8345 I mean I wouldn't rate TTG's popularity on google searches, because the main reason it's popular is with young kids, who I doubt will use the internet for that if for anything especially when it's on TV so much, compared to something like adventure time which had massive cultural impact on many types of audiences, it can actually have a bigger community, but yeah other than that I can agree, though I mean what western network, streaming and otherwise, is looking after its own animation nowadays? :/ really sucks....

    • @billlupin8345
      @billlupin8345 5 лет назад +4

      If their ratings hadn't fallen so much, yeah, I could see that, but kids plainly aren't getting off the computer to watch TTG, or the ratings would be there.

    I'll give TTG one thing, it's incredibly stylized and doesn't really look like other cartoons currently available. It even makes fun of the bubbly rounded style that's dominating animation right now. I may not like immature gag humor, but I'm glad this show looks exactly and moves exactly like what it's supposed to be.

    • @katakunarindoshiki6847
      @katakunarindoshiki6847 6 лет назад +71

      It's kinda nice to have a show that's just for a laugh, since most TV shows are now going deeper into it's story

    • @ebbandfloatzel
      @ebbandfloatzel 6 лет назад +104

      Amazing World of Gumball kind of just does that better though. It's stylized, has good jokes for both adults and kids, and doesn't adhere to it's own formula (it's a "family sitcom" but makes fun of the tropes it represents.)
      It's actually a big argument for why TTG should be a little more mature with itself, since you can _be_ mature, while still being for kids.

    • @bernebelmont1857
      @bernebelmont1857 6 лет назад +4

      TTG has a much thicker angular style with sharp bold colors

    I've never seen a marketing strategy like this. Where they say they're going to hold a completely different series hostage unless the movie being marketed makes a good amount of money. What is with WB and being so weird with animated movies over the last 20 or 30 years?

    I've seen the movie, and multuple times I laughed, then under my breath said, "God dangit, Teen Titans Go." Now, while I agree that TTG is arguably one of the worst modern cartoon shows, I do laugh sometimes, it's mostly because of absurdity. However, I still think it's ok. The design of the Titans never bothered me, but the animation of this movie is pretty good. I dare say, great! Of course, I actually love the background gags, and references. And yes, there is an after credits scene, and yes, it is awsome.

    Oh I dunno; I think that it'd be cool to get that final Teen Titans season six that was missing all these years. Honestly I kind of miss having a show like it; it was silver-age goofy with a more modern overarching storyline. Usually people want shows to just lean one way or another.

    If there's one thing that;s bothered me about the marketing is that it is trying to saying that TTGTTM is the movie to revive 2d animation when just last year we had the MLP Movie which was a lot better than this movie. Despite my issues this movie is a surprising one though since i hate/feel indifferent toward TTG as a whole. I'd give it a high 7.5/10 or a low 8 if i feel generous. As for the advertising for TT Season 6 if they lie to us about this, then this is gonna backfire on them and will make this movie look even worse.

Also, even if I've never seen the show, I would still hate the movie because it's lazy, unfunny, stupid, follows the same tropes that every modern animated film has been doing, and the movie is just not like how an animated film should be. You're gonna kill me for saying this, but I'm gonna skip this film. Teen Titans Go was definitely not for me (or 97.9% of cartoon fans). Maybe if it wasn't the Teen Titans, it wouldn't be a big deal. But when you "reboot" a show that people loved, and made a bad comedy show out of it, then you shouldn't be surprised when people say your show is horrible. And no, being self aware of how bad you are, and attacking the critics doesn't make you smart or funny. It just gives us more reason to hate your show even more. It also doesn't help that CN over saturates the show, while leaving other shows on the self like Steven Universe, O.K K.O, and We Bare Bears (Thank good new episodes are coming soon).
    The reason why this movie exists is because CN wants the series to be popular, despite the fact they know everyone hates it. Hell, some kids might have grown out of, or are sick of it by now, and want to see other things. At the end of the day, this is just CN trowing their money away to a dumpster fire. A dumpster fire that has a sign up saying "I'm edgy, cool, and hip. Please love me". A dumpster fire that needs to be put out, but CN just won't let that happen.
    Also, that teaser for season 6 of the original Teen Titans, not gonna happen. Its a lie and a scam to make more money on the film. Either Tara Strong is lying (Christ I hope not), payed to lie (Christ I really hope not) or she's been told the lie and thought it was true. Either way, season 6 is never going to happen, and CN will never make it happen.
    Pretty interesting recommendations CellSpex. If I may recommend another 2D film, is a Comedic Fairy-tell Parody called The Big Bad Fox and Other Tales. It was released in France last year, but on the third of August, it'll be released in an English dub. It'll obviously be a limited release (foreign, 2D, not based on an existing franchise), but if its playing close by, I might watch it.

    Literally speaking, the tease for the original Teen Titans at the end of the movie is my biggest objection to this movie as well as represents what's wrong with Teen Titans Go in general.
    Barring in mind that other people in this comment-section have already described, how the situation literally comes off like a Hostage Situation. (Which really only shows that the enemy isn't stronger but actually desperate.) Let's examine all the points you make about TTG.
    It's a commentary on how children's cartoons are bullshit. Okay...
    It pokes fun at major children's cartoon show tropes. Okay...
    It points out the flaws in simplistic moral messages. Okay...
    It makes fun of the fact that you can't say "death" in a kids show, by killing off its characters every week. Okay...
    It deconstructs the idea that Super Heroes are always upstanding moral citizens, and can really just be jerks. Okay...
    Fine...that's all GOOD stuff to base a series around, if you actually pull it off correctly (which TTG doesn't but we'll get to that). But literally speaking, me - as well as every other critic of the series that has known this is what the show does - has only one question to ask the makers of this show...
    "If you wanted to do all of that..................Why did you do it with the Teen Titans?"
    Seriously, you resurrected these characters - going out of your way to bring the original voice-cast back for them - only to completely replace their original personalities, with something that is so unrecognizable, that literally you could replace the characters in TTG with a generic band of New Anti-Hero Asshole-Teens, and no one would tell the difference.
    What was the point of using the Teen Titans to make THIS show?
    Is it because you know you're not going to make "the next Deadpool" and so - out of sheer desperation - you used one of the most successful series your channel ever aired as a ploy to get audience's attention? (Or is it just a ploy to put all that Teen Titans merchandise back on shelves?)
    Literally speaking...if Teen Titans Go wasn't about the Teen Titans and wasn't voiced by the actors who voiced the Titans...Critics of the show wouldn't care about it. In fact, the backlash against the show might be totally non-existent. But because the show is a follow-up to what was such a great series for seemingly no reason, TTG comes off as some anomalistic paradox of confusion. What was the mind-set behind this show? Did they seriously think they were going to get away with this and NOT piss people off? What was the point of reviving one of your most successful franchises, to cash-in on fan-nostalgia...just to throw mud into the faces of the people who actually grew-up with this show?
    It's like what they're doing with Thundercats; what's the point of reviving Thundercats if you're clearly not wanting to tell a Thundercats' story? It shows that these people are just in-it for the Brand-Recognition and nothing else. It doesn't matter if they're trampling on the legacy of a show beloved by millions that was much better than anything they'll ever make.
    Do I think TTG can be good? Well, I saw one episode where they try to rescue the Justice League from Darksied, and they used it as an episode to make-fun of Darksied - who is voiced by Weird Al Yankovic - which was funny. But the thing is, that episode was obviously making a commentary on Super Hero tropes, whereas the rest of the show doesn't feel like that. It literally just feels like we're stuck with a bunch of assholes being assholes because they can get away with it.
    Worse, is the episodes that actually DO feel like commentary are always aimed at critics of the show...and they're terrible. For example, they deconstruct whats wrong with children's cartoons...except children's cartoons aren't like what they're depicting anymore, because kids shows have moved past that stigma. If anything, the only shows left that actually DO what they're criticizing are made for Kindergarten-age children on Nick Jr.
    Then they point out the flaws of shows teaching moral lessons like pacifism or friendship is magic...The ONLY show that actually does that is My Little Pony...which in and of itself, knows when to put its Morals in a Box and give us a DBZ-Style Throw-Down for the finale.
    Worse, it calls out its critics for being "nostalgia-blind." It calls out a non-existent critique that it doesn't teach moral lessons, by trying to teach kids Not to Vandalize and how to build equity through real-estate; despite the fact that cartoons haven't shoved morals down kid's throats since the 80s.
    And plus...I'm just going to say it...Self-Aware, Self-Referential, Commentary Shows that point out how absurd they are, or their genre is have been done to death; it's gotten tiresome and exhausting. Literally EVERYONE and their grandmother has mocked the endless parade of Super-Hero Movies churned out by Hollywood. Doing that has never been funny; there's an art to making witty observations like Jerry Seinfeld, but no one else knows how to actually do it.
    Then there's all the Batman jokes the movie - and the show - makes that feel like they're lifted right off the internet. Movies need to stop trying to be the Internet; because even on the Internet, Batman Memes have gotten old and stale and tired.
    This show doesn't deserve to exist; there's no point or logic to its existence. The fact that it's NOT just a generic team of original characters is what kills it. And the fact that they think they can dangle the real series in front of us as compensation for helping them succeed, is part of the problem.
    No one asked for the Teen Titans to come back in any form; and we certainly don't want it back now after this, because the fact that TTG's existence has tainted not only the characters but also the channel's reputation as well.

    I've seen it at the cinema some months ago with my friend and my little sister, I really liked it!
    I found a lot of the jokes funny, and both me and my friend laughed at them!
    Probably the show gives more impact on who is of a younger age (we are 13), but the fact that it's teen titans go, the reboot that everyone hates, didn't stop me from liking it. I get angry when I see comments of people who just assume the film was bad just becouse of how teen titans go was a bad reboot of teen titans.

    I’m just genuinely thrilled the movie is good. I keep hearing the show staff getting flamed when I can only imagine how soul-sucking the show must be to work on. You’re making a crappy show you’re mandated to make that you know anybody with half a brain will hate, and you get hated as a result. So whenever they’re able to take those lemons and make lemonade, like in the few good episodes or this movie... it really does make me happy.

    After watching this movie, I thought it was good, but not superb. They were some dumb jokes in it, for example, the one scene where Robin shakes his butt in a movie theater screen. There were some serious scenes in the movie that you don’t usually see in the show.

      Couldn't agree more. Yeah, there were multiple fart jokes that went on for way too long, and the plot was irritatingly predictable, but beyond that, there were some jokes that ranked from amusing to completely hilarious. Despite its flaws, it still works more than it doesn't, and it's definitely worth seeing.

    In my opinion, I liked TTG. I thought it was funny and I enjoyed watching it, I just hated how Cartoon Network milked the HELL out of it. Like, that seemed to be the only thing on. I wanted to watch some Steven universe, and The Amazing World Of Gumball, but instead, they just played the same episode the fourth time that day. Like, I understand it’s popular and makes a lot of money, and I see why most people don’t like it, but Cartoon Network, needs to chill with TTG.
    it’s a problem.

    The clip at the end of the movie is true but not.
    No it’s not season 6.
    It’s either a movie, TV movie(meaning one hour tv thing), 30 min episode, or a 15 min episode of “Teen Titans Go vs Teen Titans.”
    One of the official twitters announced this. But didn’t say what it is. They only said it’s “Teen Titans go vs Teen Titans”

    We just want a conclusion to Teen Titans and get a season 6 because they have the same voice actors for the other show so why can't they do another season 6? I'm betting that they are going to put it on their DC streaming service or on Cartoon Network because they still have the rights to it.

    I have not seen much of the original Teen Titans, but from what I have seen it's really good, just like anyone else has said.
    However one thing I hear brought up a lot regarding Teen Titans is they still have more to cover in a season 6, Starfire specifically is one I've noticed people bringing up as she never had a story arc, or something on those lines.
    I feel a Teen Titans season 6 has as much of a reason to exist at samurai jack's adult swim season did. Probably not with a higher rating with more adult themes, but a season the writers know will be the last unlike what was the last two seasons of the show.

    One thing that I'll say about this movie, without seeing it yet, is how it does seem to (kind of) play a major contribution of having more 2D animation out there in cinemas. Although they honestly could've at least try a lot more to update the animation quality to feel presentable for cinemas. Even the MLP Movie bothered to do just that from its usual TV format. That's what honestly kind of baffles me the most about this movie.
    It's both a little weird and interesting how this TTG movie apparently surprise a lot of people, even the second trailer made me feel that I just entered into a Twilight Zone for a sec where a lot of moments actually felt surprisingly tolerable from the show. The Deadpool line was actually a good one. Perhaps it probably did do something to stand out a lot differently from the show (somehow) in terms of quality.
    Will Arnett as Slade does seem like he could provide the best performance. But then it also kind of feels like a missed opportunity for WB to not have him cast as Batman for some reason. Consider how the whole premise of the movie seems to rely on meta humor a lot and has Nick Cage there.
    Can't say that I'm still a huge fan of the show after all of this nor planning to go see this in cinemas anyways. I also don't like how there is a ploy involve to get fans of the 2003 show to see the movie. That just seems a bit of wrong and even low of them to do imo. It may even suggest how little confidence they in this movie to be able to stand on its own in terms of box office performance and cash grab.

    The colours in the backgrounds are gorgeous, dude.
    Like, GOD they're so amazing to look at and give this movie a much more grand and large scale, which fits since it's a theatrical film. And DUDE the animation in this film was a immeasurable step up in every way from the TV Show. Even the action was pretty good.
    Plus, it just feels good to see 2D animation on the big screen again.
    Also I think the emotional moments were alright, mostly because I just felt the music helped. I mean I guess I'm a sucker for that sappy crap, but I thought they were fine for what they were.

    0:31 - There are a lot of people who make the argument that the show's flippant comedy isn't hurting anyone beyond comic book nerds BUT considering the modern state of American culture and a disturbing lack of basic intelligence, empathy, and human decency in almost everything the mainstream does (SEE President Errand Boy), I am afraid Teen Titans Go will have a negative long lasting effect on future generations who cannot see the satire underneath the distracting surface.

    • @noobattempts

      Enshohma no if we go down that lane you are inviting the idea of censorship.

    • @Enshohma
      @Enshohma 6 лет назад +2

      No, I'm not discussing censorship what-so-ever.
      Censorship is the very last thing we need right now, especially in this country where our government is seriously considering punishing people with an assigned task-force simply for non-Christian beliefs. No, what I'm stating is that I just wish there was more responsible story telling or at least basic decency and logic in our entertainment to at least (AT LEAST) counter balance the extreme nihilistic flippancy and celebrated stupidity that plagues shows like Teen Titans Go (I have yet to see the film itself so I cannot group it in with its progenitor).
      Teen Titans Go on its own has more than a right to exist (for better or ill) BUT that doesn't change the fact that its another drop in a disturbingly larger sea, one that most people can't understand that it's meant to be simple comedy, taking it seriously enough to negatively effect others in the real world, like older adults who watch too many 'stoner cartoons' and think starting riots at McDonald is acceptable, or people who were never taught any basic human decency and instead send death threats against a minor actress from Star Wars because they're too dumb and too cowardly to address actual criticisms towards the Disney company itself or, better yet, not psychotically obsess over Star Wars in the first place (emphasis on 'psychotic').
      I don't want censorship AT ALL but the 'stupidity s**t sandwich' that the masses are gobbling up is starting to stink up the joint and we need an intellectual window to be open even if its just for a little bit.
