Most useful CAGED chord shape on guitar?

- Is this THE most useful CAGED chord shape? We are often taught how to move the A shape up the guitar fretboard, and the E shape to form bar chords. But the D shape also moves up the fretboard and can be used to find chords, licks, scales, arpeggios, target chord tones and more.

I can tell you first hand as a player who truly understands CAGED , that this methodology of which Blue teaches makes the most sense, hands down .
It was like ..”why didn’t I think of that ?” Excellent teacher and a fantastic guitar player.
Thank you Gary!!
I love this guy. Excellent teacher
Glad you're enjoying the channel thank you 😎
0:35 i CANNOT tell you how much we appreciate this Demo of chord/arpeggios switching and swap outs.
as a new, self taught, older player, this is really tricky to wrap my head around.
Cool glad to hear it. I'll keep putting the demo sections in.
Dude, you are the are the winner. You are making some of the most helpful videos.
Glad to hear it, thank you! Lots more coming :)
I really like how you explain. Glad that I just found you
Thank you very much! Lots more on the channel and our Patreon group www.patreon.com/guitarlessonsvancouver
I always look forward to your videos. I like the way you teach a small chunk of the fretboard each time, and make it musical. I find when I go back to learning a song it helps with my overall playing. Don't stop at 52 lessons please!
Great to hear thank you! Next week is 52 weeks but I will keep making videos on RUclips, it just won't be every week. There will be 2-3 RUclips videos a month and then weekly videos on our Patreon www.patreon.com/guitarlessonsvancouver
Excellent lesson!

Gracias José! Más videos están viendo!
Thank you!!!!! Great lesson as always
Thanks again!
I also use the landmark method, really great and makes it a lot easier. Thanks Blue!
Good to know more people use the landmark method. It does work really well.
Another good one Blue. I also use the 1st inversion triad off of the B root with a C major scale when using the B root. Strings 2,3,4
Cool thanks Charles! That's a good one too 😀
Another good one!
Thanks again!
Thank you.
Thanks for watching 😎
Thank you so much Blue. I'm waiting for triads. Why I'm waiting for it? How are you going to tell it? I think you'll do the best again. I wonder it.
Thank you! I will put triads on my list of videos to make. Thanks for the suggestion.
nice explanation.
Thank you for watching!
I tend to ignore the C barre chord shape as it follows the D shape. Obviously that means I cant play many open strings as a C barre would allow. This is a great way of compromising this and gives access to more notes and a fuller sound. Thanks.
Thank you! Glad it helped
Great lesson again
I've never made up my mind about whether that is a "D" shape or the bottom of a "C" shape!
Same with the "A" shape....is it simply the back side of a "G" shape? LOL
It really shows how all of thesec"shapes" are connected to each other 👍
As song as we can find them and use them, the names probably don't matter as much. Thanks for commenting 🙂
Question regarding stairway. I see other RUclipsrs playing the intro on their channels. Are you not playing it because it will be demobilized? It wouldn’t be a copyright strike, would it? Thanks!
We can play it but the video will be demonitized. Which is not a problem so much. Except then us RUclipsrs don't make any of the ad revenue. So if it's not necessary for me to play it in a video, it's better if I don't.
The D/F# shape hammering onto the bar is the Alright Now chord.
It's a very useful shape indeed! Thanks for watching 😎
I know all the caged and pentatonic shapes that go with them. I just need to be able to execute them quickly and smoothly enough to make them sound musical. That's the key!
Indeed, it takes a lot of practice to be able to pull them out of your pocket smoothly. You can do it!
I think the most useful shape is the one that gives me the sound I am looking for at the time. 😊
That's great if you can always find it when you need it 😊
Hello,
What is your opinion on religion?
This absolutely depends on the style of music you're playing atm
