Your videos are rapidly making me a better guitar player. You're the best guitar teacher on RUclips, very practical lessons that I can apply to playing and songwriting. I hope your channel gets huge, thank you!
@@ssdelmar Not sure if this is what you mean but this is a common way to use major and minor pentatonic, especially in blues and rock. Major Pentatonic on the I chord, then Minor Pentatonic on the IV chord. I have a video about that here: ruclips.net/video/K9QdVkZIxAo/видео.html Or if you mean connecting the chords with a scale, you could use this as a launch out of a G major bar chord and then just grab the Bm chord which will be nearby. Good stuff. The more I progress on guitar, the more it comes down to just digging farther into the basics and knowing just different ways to play the basics really well.
I did know these things in parts and pieces. However, I didn't knew how to put them together so I could sound like I knew what I was doing. Now I do. Fantastic instruction !!
I appreciate you giving some practical ideas along with a chord progression to work with to glue it together. It'd be great if you keep building on this. Suggestion, would like to see a video that breaks down different embellishments, extensions added along with different intervals/dyads used for color and transitions. Some popular rock examples would be great too! I find knowing CAGED system and Pentatonic boxes helps connect this together, because each major and minor chord form has an underlying scale. When you know them, you know what notes are playable for each chord.
Blue, where have you been all my life. Your lesson here and the previous one (The most useful lick I ever learned) is what I have needed for so long. I cant wait for whats to come on this channel
Hey Blue, in the last little while I've watched a bunch of your videos. As a lot of other people have said, your teaching method is absolutely fantastic. Thanks Blue, there's incredible value in your lessons for someone like myself, the beginner/intermediate/hopeful 😃 Keep up the good work, it's appreciated!
It took me quite time to figure all that out by myself, and now i see you nailed ALL THAT TOGETHER in just a few minutes, just missing the pinky embellishments to the 3 finger chord center 1-3-5 on the B G and D String and the inverted bar chord extension of the C shape bar chord 2 frets up. And that itself directly connects to the 5 chord right on the same spot.

Awesome thanks Charles!
This just changed my music life thank you!!
Thanks for the support. More coming next weekend.
What i have to say has already been said. I reached a point where I felt 'stuck'. Your last two lessons have opened up a new world. I was disappointed to see that you do a few videos then disappear! Please don't go away, if neccessary I'll send you money. I would come and knock on your door if I wasn't in England! Thank you for what you have taught me up to now
Thanks Kevin, That's high praise and I really appreciate it. I was "disappearing" before because no one was watching the videos, and since I am busy enough teaching in person, I kept putting it aside. But things seem to be picking up now so I'm planning on doing about one a week for a year, then I'll see where I'm at. Thanks again!
@@GuitarLessonsVancouver I looked for your books on Amazon UK but wasn't able to find them. Is it perhaps because they are too recent and haven't made the list yet?

just bought book 1 and 2, I have watched a lot of video on youtube, and alot of them fell asleep during, I find your engaging and entertaining, makes you simply want to see the next one , so Im going back to the beginning of your videos, I'm an old guy never did any type of music in school and sure never picked it up in life, but now retired I picked up a guitar..or two or 5 ya know how that goes, I am great at tec, have all the cool gadgets, smart amp, personus studio 16.4.2, and even learning reaper...watching your videos I get an ahhh I get it moments all the time, thanks!!! and Hellllow from Nova Scotia !!!!
Great to hear thank you! Definitely one or two guitars turns into five or six. But that's part of the fun. Of course playing guitar is the true joy. Glad you're enjoying the videos. If you want more we have lots more on our Patreon group www.patreon.com/guitarlessonsvancouver

Thanks! New video every Saturday
I tried to study dropping licks but this is the greatest I’ve ever seen..thanks mate ❤
Thank you! Glad it helped 👍
Exactly what you said @15:30 .. it would be great if you made more video just like this. It doesn’t matter that you already made this one (and the previous one) .. more of the same it totally fine IMO, just throw in there some new riffs and use both “launches” - it’d be a great video I’d go back and rewatch for practice (like this one). Thanks 🤘🎸
Bending up to the blue note sounds cool too.
Good point, sure does!
I would like to say THANK YOU! You changed my way to learn/play guitar!
