Arcade1Up Pac-Man HDMI Console: bit.ly/33VKT2O What do you think about the ability to add your own games to this? Is it something Arcade1Up should continue with on future products?
About time we can add games. On another note wanted to let you know. Target in my area dropped Arcade 1Up countercade (PAC-man & Galaga ) to $59.99. It’s not showing it on Brickseek yet.
@@cooltoy - thought that might be the case - but still gives the option of adding a new gamelist to your 3/4 scale cab ( 10 arcade games would refresh the game list on some of the gen1 cabs ! ) Oh one other question - Does it output only 16:9 signal or if playing on a 4:3 monitor does it correctly output full screen ?
That depends. If it has good performance, maybe. But as I've seen from COOLTOY's comments and the video itself, it is very limited on what it could do. The Super Retro-cade is a better alternative. I guess this is good if you really want to play 2600 and 7800 games and find it cheap. I'd stick with the Super Retro-cade, it already has nearly 100 games installed and the compatibility is high; I've managed to boot up laserdisc games that are supported in MAME (unplayable because of the speed but they do boot up).
When these go on clearance for $10 or $20 this would be great alternative to a raspberry pi whether on a tv or an Arcade 1Up cabinet! Any idea if this will work with a USB encoder??
Picked this up at office max and love it! Play it wirelessly on my 1080p tv. The picture only goes up to 720p for the games but they look great! Much better than the Pac man partycade I bought off of HSN. And Pac man and Galaga seem to player faster than on the partycade. Another plus is Galaga 88 which arcade 1 up hadn't released. Great buy IMO!
Wait hold up ... so Arcade1up secretly hides emulators inside their licensed product? This is so strange. Why didn't they do this with their cabinets lol. It would saved me the trouble modding haha
I wonder if this is something you can't avoid when you add SD card support using Android, the Super Retro-cade has the same "feature" and it feels as if it was unintentional. Maybe is a leftover from a testing phase.
You hit it out the park again. excellent video. A bit surprise that these are the arcade roms and not the console. I think It makes it worth it with the ability to add more games pretty cool.
First thing i thought was if someone wanted to mod their arcade 1up cab but had no experience with a pi or pc this could be used to add more games. I wonder how it would react to plugging in a encoder. Worst case you could plug one of those usb extenders in and connect your joystick out the front panel of the 1up and plug your controller in to there.?? Its like a beginner pi with retro pi. Anyway for my pi 4 in my star wars cab and going to add a wii in there also for gun games.
I was wondering about a different wired controller and if this would be a good base for a really simple build like that. SD card adds to that being a useful option.
I think this, including the crappy controller, is good for arcade1up fans and just your normal Joe walking by seeing it in the store. I have a billion different ways of playing these games but I still would want to pick this up. 40 bucks is very reasonable. Nice video Cooltoy
The average joe would certainly be the best fit for this. They aren’t liable to care as much about the controller. And the game line up plus expansion capabilities gives it a much better value over other tv plug and and play devices out in the market

Such an odd decision for them to allow you to add your own games... I'm not complaining, but it's like they're testing the legal waters with this product. I could understand using MAME since all of the included games must be using some sort of MAME emulation, but to include emulation functionality for systems that DON'T already have pre-installed games included with the product seems kind of sketchy. The only reason they would include a SNES emulator (for example) is to encourage you to add roms. If I was Nintendo, I'd be watching A1Up pretty closely... this is more of an AtGames move that I never expected from Arcade1Up.
Thx for showing this. No one else has made a video on this yet as far as I know. I am glad you can use other usb controllers. I wonder if you can play arcade ROM too and neo geo or cps 1 or 2. If so then it is a great value for $40 in my opinion. Easy too add games. No hacking or other bs.

See, here is something I would absolutely throw money at. I am assuming they wont, but if they did cheap plug-n-play consoles with the games in their cabs that people actually really want, like the TMNT games and the Marvel vs Capcom collection, those would be titles worth owning instead of the 1000th plug-n-play featuring Pac-Man.
What emulator are they using that allows you to emulate multiple console systems? I heard you can also play Turbografx-16/PC-Engine games on this device!
When running in NES emulation, are the NES games running at 30p (frameskip=1) or 60i? Might be fairly obvious when sprites start disappearing if it's not rendering at 60i, for example in Mega Man 2. I noticed the sprites on the atari defender were disappearing so I would assume only 30p picture?
The sprite dissapearing on the Atari 2600 is not the fault of the emulation. The original game, on the original hardware did that as well. Call it a programming limitation, with too many sprites on the screen at one time and the Ataris own limited capabilities (at the time). I grew up with that.
Are you saying you can just put the ROMs onto a memory card and plug it in without hacking the console? That's pretty cool actually, I'd be curious to see what other controllers it works with and what other emulators it has in its software.
Is this a advertised feature or hidden? What emulator on device is installed that runs all these roms? If I slipped a sd card with roms in the Pac-Man 8 in 1 arcade 1up, would it do this??
It's too broad of a question for me to be able to answer about USB fight sticks. Some I'm sure would work, while others wouldn't, way too many fight sticks out there to test them all or answer definitively across the board. You can not add arcade games
I tried sega cd on this it runs very glitchy you need the 3 bios files along with the bin/cue files I have a super retro-cade and modified legend's flashback and both systems play sega cd games perfectly!
I think it is odd that included the emulators for other systems. I know others have asked, but have you tried other consoles and they didn't work, or did you just not try them yet? Also, do you think you need a certain version of the arcade roms to go with their version of MAME? or is it locked down, so as to not compete with their cabs?
So best buttons you've ever used? Jk Nicely done video! I totally forgot that they designed it so you could use your own controllers. That makes the whole thing a lot more interesting and I can see this being a great option for some people.
I wonder if the games included that we have not seen before provide any clues about future cabinet releases? This is clearly to target the plug and play market. My experience has been pretty poor given the cheap controllers and the absence of a cabinet. Playing pac-man (or otter arcade-based games) on the television has never appealed to me. Either way, great review CT!!!

Wow that sucks. LOL. I was gonna pick one up for my sister because she loves Pac-Man and Galaga, but also Ms. Pac, Centipede, and DK. Thanks for replying.
Before I returned mine I had atari2600, NES, SNES, sega genesis, Sega gamegear, and Gameboy advance is supposed to work sega cd barely works you will need the 3 bios files to use it I also tried turbografx 16, sega master system, and original Gameboy those 3 didn't work
Hi friend. I have just bought the version of PACMAN and I have tried to install it and I have not been able to do it. I need your help please (I've been doing it one way and another all day but I'm out of luck). Could you tell me what memory you have used and of what capacity, if a special format is needed. I can't even get to see my files, temporarily I can see the folders even if I leave them without files, it just sends me to a blue screen after I tell it to mount the memory. I would greatly appreciate it. CHEERS
If you haven't figured it out yet you need to use a SD card that's less than 16gb for it to read I believe. I used a 32gb at first and had that problem but fixed it when I went to a 4gb.

The sprite dissapearing on the Atari 2600 is not the fault of the emulation. The original game, on the original hardware did that as well. Call it a programming limitation, with too many sprites on the screen at one time and the Ataris own limited capabilities (at the time). I grew up with that.
Thanks for the review COOLTOY! I was very interested to see what these were all about, what's the warranty on these? LOL
The video isn't 60fps compatible but, can you tell me how it feels, like is it 60fps for you?
thanks for sharing this.
hopefully people find it helpful.
is this also how you do it with the giant joystick?
in theory, yes
Are you saying you can just put the ROMs onto a memory card and plug it in without hacking the console? That's pretty cool actually, I'd be curious to see what other controllers it works with and what other emulators it has in its software.
So what other controllers can you actually use with this thing?
Is this a advertised feature or hidden? What emulator on device is installed that runs all these roms?
If I slipped a sd card with roms in the Pac-Man 8 in 1 arcade 1up, would it do this??
ok, I have an orange Atari box with no controller, and its only wireless, what can i do? is it 2.4 Ghz like Pacman? i
Do usb joysticks/fightsticks work with this? What about mame arcade games?
It's too broad of a question for me to be able to answer about USB fight sticks. Some I'm sure would work, while others wouldn't, way too many fight sticks out there to test them all or answer definitively across the board. You can not add arcade games
Were do I ho to add your games
Is there any word on exactly which emulators it will support? I’m trying to find an alternative to run SEGA CD without spending a fortune!
Buy an old pc. Emulation
I tried sega cd on this it runs very glitchy you need the 3 bios files along with the bin/cue files I have a super retro-cade and modified legend's flashback and both systems play sega cd games perfectly!
@@RyGuy0520 What is the method you used to play Sega CD games on the Super Retro-Cade?
I gotta know, what’s the full list of emulators built in? Can you add arcades?
So far I have not had any success adding arcade games
Can I save state and load state un this console?
Hey man i put some roms on my sd card inserted in the slot but console for some odd reason is not recognizing the roms please help me
is there a controller compatibility chart for these?
nope, just a trial and error type thing. Way too many USB controllers on the market to put a full listing together
I think it is odd that included the emulators for other systems. I know others have asked, but have you tried other consoles and they didn't work, or did you just not try them yet?
Also, do you think you need a certain version of the arcade roms to go with their version of MAME? or is it locked down, so as to not compete with their cabs?
Do you think it is capable of running mame?
Will love to know as well 🤔
Do I think it is capable yes, have I got it to work thus far, no.
Does anyone know if you can do 2 players on this while running the roms?
So best buttons you've ever used? Jk Nicely done video! I totally forgot that they designed it so you could use your own controllers. That makes the whole thing a lot more interesting and I can see this being a great option for some people.
these buttons are like playing with the Smarties candies lol
@@cooltoy LOL thats hilarious. Sounds like a win
It was nice to see Galaga 88 for the first time here from Arcade1Up
@@cooltoy Rolling thunder, super xevious, new rally x and dragon spirit are new too.

Killer Instinct yet???
🤣
So you're saying I can add MORE Pac-Man games?? 😳 With so many options we will never get tired of Pac-Man! 🙌🙌😁
Said nobody: Pacman Championship DX++ Ultra Infinite 256 - Coming Holiday 2021
Does other consoles works like n64, game boy, dreamcast isos , etc?
No
Where’s the best place to download roms?
I'm new to the whole downloading games on the Pc any advice on where to go and get them legally
Sega includes 30 Genesis roms in the Sega Genesis collection on Steam. Idk where else to get legal roms, though
*Arcade1UP* So, are those TV emulator systems ready for launch?
*Engineer* Yes, they’re all set to go!
*Arcade1up* Did you make sure you couldn’t play other console games on the device?
*Engineer*
Can you add MAME ROMs? If I wanted to add Ms. Pac-Man, Centipede, Donkey Kong, etc., is that possible?
Nope
Wow that sucks. LOL. I was gonna pick one up for my sister because she loves Pac-Man and Galaga, but also Ms. Pac, Centipede, and DK. Thanks for replying.
I just found a chinese magic word mini arcade.I think it is a genisis rom on it.
So, what happens when you try to launch a SNES game that uses super fx? Does it crash, run poorly, what???
Runs very poorly
What all consoles does it emulate? Just those or more? Oh and Great video!
SEGA CD, Master System, and Game Gear are also supported
@@cooltoy great to know! Sega cd in HD, thats good to know! Thanks for the reply
How many console emulators are built in? Is there support for MAME?
I have not had any success adding arcade games thus far
Before I returned mine I had atari2600, NES, SNES, sega genesis, Sega gamegear, and Gameboy advance is supposed to work sega cd barely works you will need the 3 bios files to use it I also tried turbografx 16, sega master system, and original Gameboy those 3 didn't work
is it coming to Europe????
That pacman image in menu screen probably from google
I used a 32gb at first and had that problem but fixed it when I went to a 4gb.
when it inevitably falls to $20 it'll be worth it
