Just bought the Pac-Man one at Target for $20. One of the games I added in the MicroSD card is the Japanese Famicom version of Rolling Thunder, and holy crap! This plays the extra sound channel!
I know with the wall /countercade system that QVC & HSN has about 6 to 8 games. I’m not sure why they do that especially for the price of the cabinet. A Cabinet should have various games if I’m playing $300 to $400 dollars.
Super late to the party on this as I'm just getting around to creating a SD card for it. I can't seem to find any info online that gives a complete list of what ROMS this will play. Only thing I saw was another Atari console. Any other info available on this ? Sega Master System, Turbo GRAFX ?

Make sure you get the version 1.1 of the Super Retrocade if possible. It added additional functionally and more emulator core options. If you're looking for a fun plug and play console, you will be much happier with that.
Ralph, yes, you can use other controllers with this, like an Xbox One wired controller. I'm thinking this could be put in a cabinet, due to that functionally. What say you?

I’m planning on getting this on my Mother’s Birthday she is a Pacman fan and the Retrocade down the line…the fact that I can emulate games is impressive…not perfect but impressive. I’ll come back if she likes it. EDIT: She loves it…now this plan is to get some games she would like!
I like your channel you always review systems like this honestly from my experience with this it's a no go my system kept freezing up and the controller kept dropping wireless connection I just gave up and returned it now maybe if I see one on clearance I might pick it up again but that would be the only way I would recommend this system
Also there's many better alternatives that are easier to find like the retrobit super retro-cade or a modified atgames legend's flashback(50 games 2018 version) both of those systems can run arcade ROMs decently and can run most older console game's fine!
Here's an idea people will hate........ If you connect it to the legends ultimate using the OTG cable does it recognise the control panel? I will be testing this if i see one locally....
Just bought the 1.1 version of the Super-Cade. I agree that it has a great game lineup, but the bilinear filter can only be turned off for console games, which is a bummer since all the great arcade games on the unit look blurry. Does the 1up do mandatory filtering?
This is basically an updated version of the chunky unit that was shaped like a Pac-Man, had a joystick, and used an audio/video cable. That was somewhat aggravating to handle and connect, so I might get this. Galaga is such a major game and not so widely available outside of these Arcade1up cabinets that I'm amazed they don't feature it prominently on the package.
does anyone else realize that galaga has a different pitch to the shooting sound and starting music at around 3:00 tho? it's reminiscent of the legends arcade plug and play console thingy

This isn’t for me but I have a bunch of friends who would casually like to play some NES or SNES games from when they were kids that would definetly dig this. The incompatibility with other controllers is a knock against me getting it as well as the bananarang is suspect af.

Everybody asking why they can't put all these games in their cabs.....Because they wouldn't make any money. That HDMI Game console will end up in the clearance section after Christmas.
Also because it outputs 16:9 so it would look like poop on a 4:3 or 5:4 display. I'm trying different encoder boards for the fun of it as far as controls go and none of them will as far as the joystick is concerned. If someone is going to go through the trouble, I would just put a Pi in the 1up and be done. This was intended to play games on a modern widescreen TV... Anyway... I’m not really into board games so there’s really not much to say. I think for the board game player, it could be pretty cool. I used to play them with my kids a lot when they were smaller though, they don’t have much interest at this point though.
Seems too cheaply made for the price, if they were trying to compete, this doesn't seem that much better than the Atgames ones, and they sold for $20 (clearance at $5) I like the idea of the Super Retro-Cade for $59, seems better in every way and the UI is great to have instead of a generic file list. However at $60, you could just buy a Pi and controller and have a much better experience, more games, more systems, better UIs, etc. Can you think of a reason to use the Super Retro-Cade over a Pi? (I am seriously just curious)
The reason for the Super Retro-Cade over a Pi would be sheer convenience. All the emulator cores are preloaded. All you have to do is add the games you want. Now you do have to add the artwork as well so it can be cumbersome. If you were to just download a Pi image that’s preloaded, then that might be the better route. Not everyone is comfortable with a Pi should they hit snags or have issues so the deciding factor would probably be the end users comfort / skill level.

Does it run arcade roms tho minus neo geo of course that you add yourself? that's what i care about cause then can add things like for example rocn rope or something
So far I haven’t been successful in getting it to play Arcade Roms. I will make an update video if I make any progress but so far it works with NES, Genesis, Atari 2600, GBA and SNES. Thanks for watching and for the comment.

Hi friend. I have just bought the version of PACMAN and I have tried to install it and I have not been able to do it. I need your help please (I've been doing it one way and another all day but I'm out of luck). Could you tell me what memory you have used and of what capacity, if a special format is needed. I can't even get to see my files, temporarily I can see the folders even if I leave them without files, it just sends me to a blue screen after I tell it to mount the memory. i did pick up the super retro-cade a few weeks ago & have been more than happy with it & just like most of arcade1up products it has crappy included controls but at least you can add games so now you can play donkey kong on something from arcade1up

I just think it’s a strange choice for them to allow side loading games on this. I’m not against it...but they’ve made a lot of comments about piracy and not allowing stolen games in the past haven’t they?
I didn't mention this in the video but I have a ton of aliexpress emulation devices. The way you add games to those devices is almost identical to this. It feels like they had someone make this and they built it with the standard specs to "add games". My guess would be that it was too late to change so they just rolled it out and didn't advertise it to not draw attention to it. Obviously we're all going to figure it out so while they're not advertising it, the ability is there. We won't know for sure but I think this is a one and done product for them for the holiday season, I don't expect multiple versions of this product in the future but you never know. Circling back on your question, are they advocating piracy, I don't think so but the ability to sideload games is there as a "undocumented feature". Thanks for the comment and thanks for watching!
Just having the Emulators present on the device is completely legal. If they included actual ROMS that they were not licensed to use, then it would be illegal.
They could've done a clicky thumb stick ala Neo Geo pocket and that would've separated it from the At Games setups. Sadly it's only marginally better...

The super retrocade is not good for neo geo games. They are all very choppy on it and it ruins the gameplay. You should have mentioned that in the review. It is a pretty good machine for a lot of arcade games though but it is underpowered considering what is available now.
Well, it wasn't really a review on the super retrocade but more a suggestion if you're going to spend $40 and looking for a plug and play console that's simple and easy to setup, the Super Retrocade is a better option. I agree it doesn't play Neo Geo the best but for the money and ease of use, it's still to this day a pretty cool options. Mostly because it comes with so many built in licensed titles. Don’t blame the yellow controller it’s the system it’s self that’s bad you can use your Xbox one PS4 controller that’s how I figured out it was the system not the controller arcade 1 up really did a bad job
Jakks Pacific put out far better plug 'n play games YEARS ago and those were designed as joystick games not these cheap hollow plastic shell controllers they use now. This thing just screams of cheapness and cash grab. I don't see the point of these items. I'd rather just download an arcade collection to my Xbox or Nintendo Switch and play them that way instead.

Retro-Bit is a pretty solid company. Bought some of their controllers for my Genesis Mini.
Unfortunately they won’t firmware update their Super Retro-Cade. It has some flaws (blurry arcade games).

Is there a limitation on the sim size card that it will read? Some contraptions won’t read very large Sim cards.
I was using a 64gb card without issue but I didn’t try anything larger.
Just buy an EVERCADE it actually makes this kind of thing fun again.

I hope someone discovers a way to enter the Emulation menu like they did with the PS Classic. That way we can potentially remap keys and such.

The problem is this device outputs at 16:9 so to put it on a stock 1up screen would not be possible without a scaller of some kind.

Jakks Pacific put out far better plug 'n play games YEARS ago and those were designed as joystick games not these cheap hollow plastic shell controllers they use now. This thing just screams of cheapness and cash grab. I don't see the point of these items. I'd rather just download an arcade collection to my Xbox or Nintendo Switch and play them that way instead.
Holy hell that controller looks like garbage.
Arcade 1Up is pumpin out some trash. I was really hoping they would care more about quality and bang for your buck.
