    Never having driven on US roads according to the arrow markings on the road I also would have thought that the lane at/after 9:15 would be a "turn right only lane". The same situation happens here on Swiss (and other European) roads too, which makes non-locals stay on the next lane to the left, leaving the right lane less busy than it could be.

    I look forward to them to start to fix the highway portion of Beta now. I can understand previously not wanting to put the time or energy into the old stack. Thanks for the video

    @TechGeekTesla , Thanks a lot for posting an awesome video with useful narration, have a question for you, does your summon/auto park still work with v11.3.1 with the vision only equipment in used?

    • @techgeektesla
      @techgeektesla  Год назад +1

      Yes! Summon and auto park still work. I posted a video a couple of days ago showcasing this with v11.3.1. However, if I’m not mistaken, Smart Summon only works with vehicles that still have the ultrasonic sensors.

    BUSY. By the way, I have difficulty communicating because I had a stroke in Broca’s area, the part of the brain that controls speech. 2/8/2021 but I lived again. (My wife helped me compose this.)

    I wonder if you had it set to minimize lane changes whether it would stop blocking the "passing lane" (what I call the "speeding lane"). When I get V11, hopefully sometime in the next few days, I plan on immediately trying that setting. I've no issue hanging out in a slower lane (what I call the "speed limit lane") as opposed to lingering in the speeding lane.
    Also, many of the issues people are seeing are more of a "humans are impatient pricks" problem and/or there are improper road markings (e.g. speed limit signs absent) rather than "V11 messed up" (e.g. going near the actual posted speed limits). Still, even V11 still has a ways to go before it's level 4.

      Love your comment! I am never using the “minimal lane changes” setting. JFYI. Can’t wait until you get v11 and to hear your thoughts.

    It might not have significant highway issues but it's possible that road works or new highways not yet in map could give it pause. Tight non standard branching which you kind of covered here could also be an issue. Deepest inner city highway are likely candidates. Inner city off ramps too. Is chicago the city with the massive underground road net? you can try that, I've seen that once and fsd didn't stand a chance because it can't get GPS signal. That's a good ultimate stress test.

    Driving in busy traffic with self driving veh. Looks scary. You got a lot of nerves. Beta 11 looks good though. Thanks for the vid

    • @techgeektesla
      @techgeektesla  Год назад

      Nerves? Wait till you see my next video driving through downtown Chicago! That one took major balls. It was uncomfortable the whole way. I’m editing it now, and I’m taking extra caution to deliver the content in way that isn’t too negative or disparaging to Tesla because it reveals a lot of problems in busy city driving.

  • @kirkpuppy
    @kirkpuppy Год назад +1

    Here: ruclips.net/video/dW_bVztuVPU/видео.html the complaint is that Beta is driving too slow, but the speed limit sign says 15 MPH and there's not another speed limit sign until you're on the highway.

    • @techgeektesla
      @techgeektesla  Год назад

      Good eye! If you drive 15mph through that section and someone is behind you, I guarantee that you WILL 💯 get honked at. But you’re right, it should go slower through that area. I find myself constantly intervening to slow the car down to go through toll booths like that, especially when getting off the highway. This is another area that needs improvement…

    • @kirkpuppy
      @kirkpuppy Год назад +1

      @@techgeektesla Yes, a lot of on-ramps have no posted speed limit or they'll have a very low posted speed limit when you first turn onto the ramp. It's a problem

    is it jerky in bumper to bumper traffic like old autopilot

    • @techgeektesla
      @techgeektesla  Год назад

      Not jerky from my limited observations, although I didn’t find autopilot too jerky before. Only once did it (autopilot) do some weird start/stop motions in heavy traffic that I witnessed.

    I think it has no clue what express lanes are it just knows lanes on the left are usualy faster so it just see a lane and goes for it

  • @FrenchingAround
    @FrenchingAround Год назад +1

    It’s slowing because It needs to stay cautious. Tesla is going to be taking responsibility for the driving soon. You won’t care about these speed changes when you’re playing portal 3 in VR on your commute

  • @pennyharris446

    Trend nowadays is to speed up videos so the audience stays interested. However, when I watch FSD videos i lose interest because of the fast forward sections.
    A live stream, unedited fsd beta video is just right. Everyone is making the same fast forward video. Narrated and edited.

    • @Mikethetechguy74
      @Mikethetechguy74 Год назад

      Agree. I used to like this channel videos. He talked from the car during driving. In this one he even says he thinks the video is boring so he speeds it up. I got bored at that point and moved on.
      All the drive videos on RUclips are basically the same. How it turns or change lanes.

  • @stevedowler2366
    @stevedowler2366 Год назад

    NHTSA is not going to let Tesla automatically go beyond the speed limit plus a small offset. They are sticklers and Tesla is in their focus almost obsessively. It doesn't matter if most other cars drive significantly faster than the limit, NHTSA is not paying attention to these drivers and definitely is not working to slow them down. Maybe one day they will ease off Tesla and FSD and treat them like they treat most other drivers which is that everybody drives over the limit and it's not our job to monitor or control them anyway and, besides, the Highway Patrol is in charge of catching speeders. It's sad to say but that appears to be the current state of affairs.
