HansshOw, not HanshAw. In the service manual's steering wheel removal step 4 "Disconnect LV power" you didn't follow step 9, which is removing the negative lead of the 12V battery in the frunk, before disconnecting the electrical harness from the high voltage controller connector under the rear seat. This is why the screen continued to stay on throughout the procedure and possibly power was still being supplied to the air bag. This video prompted me to order a wheel for my M3 and I took advantage of your discount code, so thanks for that. I hope the heat function works as well as the original wheel (for the leather grips. I don't think the carbon fiber sections heat up), which is something you wouldn't be able to test.
Thanks! John, keep up the great videos, I always enjoy your FSD drives. Am a fellow HW3 owner, am thinking I’ll wait until AI 5 and Juniper to go from 2021 model 3 to new model Y
@@jbromheadsd thank you so much for your kind donation! I appreciate your kind words. I’m about to head out now for some more filming. I have too many videos in the backlog. To get them out quicker I’ll be shortening them to under 10 minutes each. Can’t wait! I think it’s commendable to wait for Juniper and AI5. It will be well worth it IMO, otherwise you will have buyer’s remorse after 1-3 years. The Osborne Effect is a real thing, but it’s not something to brush off when you’re talking about a really expensive purchase like a car. 🤯 Let me know how I can support you in any way - your donation goes a long way. Thanks again. 🙏
From another install video; use TWO 'rods' to poke from both sides at once, to get the air bomb-er, bag, off. This writer is now sure he will hire the job out!
I haven't watched the whole video, but wasn't the yoke supposed to be the ultimate steering wheel? Some ideas don't agree well, although this wheel looks quite nice!
The yoke is definitely a much more noticeable upgrade. I plan to review a yoke upgrade in the future. Everyone is different with their preference on steering wheels - I’m more biased toward the round steering wheel design, but that’s just me. 😊
I'm not seeing many yokes on these videos any more. Even guys like Dirty Tesla have reverted back to the regular wheel. I'm not sure the functionality of them is as great as expected. Sometimes the perfect solution already exists, and it seems the steering wheel is the perfect form that can only be refined as you're doing here, not fundamentally changed.
Hello :) In Korea, if the vehicle warranty is still valid, replacing the steering wheel might void the warranty. So, it’s unfortunate to replace it while the warranty is active. Once the warranty expires, I’d love to purchase one myself! Tesla steering wheels, unfortunately, still leave much to be desired.
There are so many exciting things I'd love to share with you, but unfortunately, some topics aren't allowed on RUclips. So, where's the best place for us to discuss and support each other? I have some great insights and tips that will definitely benefit you!

With FSD V13.2.1 now i don't think I need a new steering wheel any more. Good video and nice wheel though.
Heheheh, true dat! I'm jealous you have 13.2.1! Congrats - wow - you are very lucky.

This new wheel is improved over the factory wheel that comes with the Tesla.

@@Gyeom89 good point! A worthy question to ask the Tesla service center before installing. Thanks for your comment.
Is it heated?
@@lutherp40 yes. It is heated.
