- The videos of the Model X crash test have emerged, and they seem to support his relaxed attitude. The electric SUV went through the standard frontal, side, and pole collision tests, and appears to have done superbly.
The results are all the more impressive considering the Model X is a very heavy beast, and while the higher inertia that generates might be helpful when crashing into a lighter vehicle, it becomes a liability when coming up against a wall. Even so, the passenger cell remained intact with the front of the vehicle taking all the damage.
The frontal barrier test simulates a head-on collision between two similar vehicles each moving at 35 mph. The rating also considers the force of impact is measured to each crash test dummy’s head, neck, chest, pelvis, legs and feet.

Model X now the safest SUV on the market, also the first SUV to receive 5 stars in every category.
Yeah, couple of millions into someones pockets and suddenly, the most unsafe vehicle is the safest. Same as the old Tesla model S NHTSA test, when they recieved 5* even if back seat snapped and flew towards (in real scenario killing occupants in back).
Even on the cheapest car, this wouldn''t happen.
Tesla does no marketing. There is no marketing budget. The fact that the press falls over itself to report everything he says is a function of the fact he knows of what he speaks.

It's what you have to leave behind almost a legacy, your family, friends, and people who you have put a impact on. Your legacy and net worth isn't based on how many commas are in you bank account. Holy crap, the front window is intact in a head on collision, the A pillars didn't even twitch, and the cars subframe was untouched, only the front yellow section with crumple & front motor was affected looks like by half but really that whole part is toast after a hit like that.
But damn that's crazy impressive for a car thats about just under 6000lbs.
M Oczakow it is pretty impressive but the car seemed to be going about 40 MPH wait until an idiot makes the purchase and drives at 60-80 MPH

Actually if you look at the lower front corners of the windscreen, they are broken there. That’s from the hinges of the bonnet. But yes, a most formidable vehicle in virtually all sense of the word!

at least they are testing full drive-able car that's charged showing that not only it wont catch fire after accident but it actually still operates. I wish they did that with combustion operated cars. Half of them would burn after gas started leaking from damaged fuel lines.
Model X is a good car, they actually care to make their cars as save as possible not like some other car manufacturers.

Kris K most gasoline cars in fact do not catch fire during a collision. Most newer cars have highly complex fuel systems that prevent fuel leakage and or gasoline Vapours from escaping.

Th- this is an official crash test for this car. It's their job to do crash tests to know if the car is safe to be on the roads before mass production.

True Default lots of drivers, in America especially, run into trees, telephone/light poles, and median dividers all the time. The test is pretty important to understand the overall safety of the car and it’s structure

Idk for sure but I think they add that sand and colored powder to better visualize the shockwaves and parts affected.
The thing about the Tesla was that once my family was looking at a model x, my sister closed the door thru the iPad counsel thing... I didn’t notice and got smacked on the head... plus it kept going down!

You think seat belts are there to glue you to the seat, you know what would happen to your chest if they were to hold you right at the seat? All that inertia just suddenly stopped. They slow you down over as big of a distance as is safe.
Use your seatbelts, man. Over half of the people killed in car crashes didn't.
