    THIS!!!!!!! This right side bend move, and good wrist conditions are ultimately the 2 main differences between scratch, and mid-hc. Level shoulders through impact is a great way to duck-hook it(for better players), or slice it off the planet(for over the top high-hc players). You gotta learn how to SLING the club FORWARD, underhanded. Like you’re trying to powerfully throw the club through some drywall in front of you. This is the visual that made it click for me, anyways. Great, great video, Eric. Love your stuff, bro.

    I attended The Wyndham Championship and watched Jason Dufner do this exercise on the range for about 10 minutes. It is one of the best training aids I've ever used! I am 6'3" and have always had a tendency to level up and out of the shot. This drill helps to reinforce staying DOWN and THROUGH the shot!

    • @CogornoGolf
      @CogornoGolf  6 месяцев назад

      Wow love that!
      Agreed---same for me too. I tend to level out and lift up on backswing AND downswing.....so for me to keep inclination to ground and feeling the side bends it helps a ton!

    Another great swing key Eric. After fatting so many irons, inclination is to stand up at the point of contact. So hard to incorporate but will stick with it. Thanks again! You truly know your “stuff”!

    • @CogornoGolf
      @CogornoGolf  6 месяцев назад

      Thanks Wayne! I hear ya....one thing to consider there if hitting fat and wanting to stay down.....
      Check out trail arm and trail wrist.....both need to still be bent at impact
      Trail arm more bent and trail wrist more bent back
      I would need to see your swing to say for sure but good place to start---more on that here

      @@CogornoGolf thank you for the prompt response Eric. I’ll try keeping the trail arm and wrist more bent at impact (delicate balance between insuring full release through the ball and an early release. Also although if “feels” like i keep my lead hip turning back behind me, it maybe possible it (front left hip) is sliding too far forward instead of back, causing a slight early extension. Golf’s tough!

    Good video, started using this principle (right side crunch) with driver a couple of weeks ago, at the moment the challenge emerging from it is that I tend to open the face too much now. coming in to out I am getting more pushed shots than I like to see at the moment. Still need to figure out on how to counter that unwanted spin off effect, because I like the way how it instantly increased my club head speed.

    When we have a 0.3 sec time frame for the down swing this can only be a "feeling" of crunching the right side: ribs obliques and shoulder maybe?

    Caught on to this in one of the other videos. Changed my swing forever. With a bad back, 34°, and playing on dead Bermuda I hit all the fairway short grass except 2 drives and had 14 greens in regulation. Great ball striking day. My putting was horrendous for speed.

    My official HC is 7 but I occasionally shoot 3-4 over when my swing 'feels good'. I know on my bad days I am quick/flippy, so this drill might help me have more good days! I am hoping this takes me down to low digit HC with more consistent iron strikes. A thin iron approach shot a few times a round is killing me. I'll work on this consciously for a few weeks, maybe longer and report back

    Interesting training exercise. I tried it immediately and was surprised how good it felt.
    Eric: You hit the ball so pure, all the time. Please add some sort of a short tracer with shape and stats to your video. When you hit a shot, we want to know the results - especially when you are telling us to hit half shots for certain drills. Seeing that data would be very helpful :-)
