still requires engine to get power... just off the accessory drive, not via vacuum from exhaust. to be clear, the running engine is still required for brake assist. awesome video as always!
According to the gentleman at Hydrotech, if you want it to the power steering cooler, it call the restriction call to hang out that’s why all factor hydroboost have a second low pressure return fitting on the pump
Would have loved this video a couple years ago 😮I have a '75 that I quit daily driving due to brakes grabbing and pulling one direction or the other unless prime pumped before smashing...1-25 pile up directly in front of me and I forgot...fast lane to the grass almost on two wheels caused me to park and time and life got away...Would love to come talk to you guys or have yall come check her out????
Been thinking of a way to increase vacuum or the hydro boost. I already have Toms power steering kit installed on mine. At least talk about the process once you adjust the proportioning valve...interested in your findings.
How far is the back of pedal arm to firewall/footwell area in park with engine running? Do you max out the pump ability and get the squeal before bottoming out pedal? How much pedal travel before bronco locks up? Sorry for all the ???
I put one on the 71 Mustang with the low vacuum big engine that damn thing will not stop before with the factory booster. Now it’ll stop on a dime and give you two nickels change with no other changes stock little brakes, stock pads and waste money on that stuff just buy a Hydro boost baby.
Still need a Pro flo 4 update video
It’s coming
Thanks for the video Jon. I’m just finishing up a hydroboost install in my ‘69 Bronco and your comments are spot on.
Nice!
I put hydroboost on the scout. Huge difference.

Great point!

Interesting. I’ve heard I should get a pump with two returns

Sounds good

Why did you choose to use a newer cooler instead of the original power steering cooler?
Because me being the dummy I am, I threw the stock one away years ago
Are you using power steering fluid for the brakes and in the brake Master Cylinder
No, brake fluid for brakes, power steering fluid for steering pump
Do you have any problems with your headers heating up you brake lines or fuel lines?
Not that I’ve noticed

Agreed!
