5:20 I don't think he is exaggerating his reactions, I think he genuinely finds almost everything Karl says hilarious. That's pretty much the only reason he spent years doing projects with Karl and keeping him around at a time in his career when he had all the freedom in the world to do anything he wanted. He said this in interviews. They were good friends for years basically for that reason.

Karl has a wonderful mind, he thought the song Wonderful Tonight by Eric Clapton was about a fella in a wheelchair, he just makes up details in his imagination that are not there in the actual story. I don't know how much of his public personality is real but I've heard on the old xfm shows that he has trouble with sometimes thinking things he's dreamt about has actually happened, so he mixes a lot of things up and adds details to stories because he just thought it fits.

Karl is sort of right about "chinese people" aging badly. From what I've seen, east asians generally do not age well, and become very wrinkled when old.
I don't think it's anything necessarily genetic, but east asians generally have a strong work ethic passed down through the family and the stress and toil throughout their life likely plays a part in them looking really really old when they're in their late 50s or 60s.

"it's a book about the weirdest THINGS"
    THEYRE PEOPLE NOT THINGS lol
That's what Ricky finds funny -its the turn of phrase and questionable way Karl speaks on sensitive topics.
If Karl said things like 'a list of people with congenital deformities' he wouldn't be funny . But calling them 'weird things' in his simple, benign way is hilarious because it's so wrong that it would usually cause outrage yet he's being so innocent about it that you can't be mad at him

I think the book has all kinds of stuff or there’s so many different people in it. I don’t think he was intending to call the people “things” lol.

I know what you mean about Ricky exaggerating, but I think it's the way Karl called a book full of people with various deformities or disabilities 'a book full of the weirdest things in the world' it's an... impolite way to speak about it and it's funny because Karl is saying it and he doesn't mean to say it that way.

ricky got some of his materials in his stand-up's from radio shows he had with karl and steve merchant. i can't tell if this one's staged, but about the show, even they ended up not meeting for business for years anymore, all three still say it was natural/improv back then.

A kilo of feathers is bigger. That's cheating. That is from a Scottish comedian called Limmy. He looks a bit like Karl. It was a three-legged juggler. That was the word you missed.

Imagine trying to interrogate Karl in a police station, or as a spy.
    'Are you Karl Pilkington, 008?'
'Why do I need a number? It's not like there are multiple Karl Pilkingtons'.
    ' Okay,..Mr Pilkington!'
'Why don't you just call me Karl?'

Nobody ever believes me but certain things Karl said in this (old Chinese, the old twix people in particular) was brought to me by my mate when we were teens at this time cos he didn't believe someone else thought those things. It was just something to say I used to think (I said a Mars bar rather than Twix though) I've tried since that time to stop thinking cos my mate was like Ricky and used to go over the top and annoy me in front of people.

In fairness your head does stay alive after beheading but the test they did was to get someone to blink as many times as they could and saw how long he could continue without a head. I duno if he/she lasted 30 secconds though but your head does stay alive until eventually it runs out of oxygen and blood

The funny part is Karl is genuine, meaning the things he says are completely absurd and therefore laughable.
Ricky laughs because he knows Karl is dead serious about every word

A kilo of feathers vs a kilo of whatever you want, iron, lead and so on is still a kilo.
What I think you are thinking of is the thought experiment (which you can test in real life) if you drop a kilo of feathers from height X at the same time as a kilo of iron from the same height. At the same time. Which of these will land first?
..dropped at the same time, if you disregard air resistance, they land at the same time.

Lethal injection is the worst form of death sentence, there are three injections, the first immobilises the body, the second is a painkiller and the third is the actual killer and it's incredibly painful, the second one doesn't always work but the other two do. I would love to hear Carls take on that.

Know what you mean about Ricky kind of overreacting to Karl, but that is just the way he is - can recommend his last Golden Globes presentation if you want more of an insight into what his sense of humour is like. But yeah, spot on with how Karl gets one fact and builds up all the details in his head 👍 - in contrast though, you have his inability to grasp concepts demonstrated by the "monkeys being on a shift pattern", which honestly sometimes really grates for me...
