When I first got a place, I used to lay the toaster on it's side to do a pizza slice at a time. You couldn't forget about them though as it used to shoot them out, you had to be ready to catch them! Did them well thouhg, both sides.
I saw a RUclips short today where someone had a steak cooking in one slot on the toaster and asparagus in the other. They had sprayed some olive oil in first. Bonkers.

Bananarama are a girl group formed in London in 1980. It's had four members & currently has two. The one Karl is referring to is Keren Woodward, who has always been the hot one.

Kes is a great movie, really sad though, about a kid called Billy if I remember right who has a pretty tough life doesn't have many friends etc. and so he befriends a baby kestrel, the movie is basically showing how this friendship with the bird helps him to cope with the difficult circumstances of his life.

Mandy, you should listen to all the original XFM radio shows they did back in the early 2000s, Karl, Ricky and Steve, they did about 4 seasons, and they're all hilarious. I listen to them non stop while working lol.
I've been binging the xfm stuff on rotation since 2019...seems mental, but I still enjoy it all.
I'm on my 4th time listening. 😊

What Karl means by he doesn't know if he feels "good" is he just knows his normal, he has nothing to compare to.
The guy off screen said 'pet hate' really softly and then Ricky stumbled over his words and it did come out weird as 'pets hate'.
Kes might be hard for an American to understand the strong Yorkshire accents. It is a cult film from the late 60s about a boy from a poor working class household who is bullied at school and home and takes up falconry to help channel his emotions. Its based on the book "A Kestrel for a Knave"
For the time, I think you might be right.
The Barnsley accent was a good old strong Yorkshire accent back then.

@@lukem118 how so? She has struggled with some words and phrases with other accents like scouse. If you are familiar with hearing a particular accent you can understand it more. That film has some very thick accents that even an English person can struggle with. Many watch it with subtitles
Kes is a great film and really well regarded especially by Brits if you ever get a chance to see it. Would be an insight into a young, teenage Karl's mind.
It is good. I think a lot of people will struggle with the accents and would need subtitles. The sound is pretty poor too, like it was recorded in a bean tin which muffles the words more. There is a remastered "Criterion" release which is higher quality and helps the sound , but that's physical media. The versions ive seen on tv are very poor. Itd have atleast be a bluray rip

You were thinking of Diana Rigg in Extras. In the sixties she played Emma Peel in 'The Avengers', a leather clad Kung Fu girl. There was an awful movie remake in the nineties with Uma Thurman. Rigg was also in 'Theatre of Blood' with Vincent Price and a Bond movie with one shot, George Lazenby. Bananarama did hits like 'I Heard a Rumour' 'Venus' and 'Nathan Jones'. They were with Stock, Aitken and Waterman like Kylie.

On the old XFM podcasts, Steve asked Karl what superpower he would want and he couldn't decide. So Steve made suggestions and just to pick one, Karl went with invisibility. Then they asked him what he'd do with that power, and Karl pretty much said he'd go into a music shop and wait for it to close then he could browse around an' that.
Steve then pointed out that he'd be stuck in there all night until they opened the next morning, LOL.
And Karl thinking 'pet hate' meant something you hate from a pet was just incredible haha!
For his celebrity crush, I was convinced he was going to say Kim Wilde. I'm sure he mentioned her before when he was talking about her song 'Kids in America'. Oh well.
Oh and Debbie Harry is/was the lead singer of the 70/80's group, Blondie.
I wish they'd swapped later so Karl had to guess the answers to Ricky getting the questions.

@@lloydwaycott8178 Nope, in UK Munchies are chocolates and those are the one's that Karl bought. They were shown as crisps in the animated show for the US audience (dunno why, but they did).

@@lloydwaycott8178 Yes there are, in America. I don't know why they had to illustrate them as crisps on the show because that's not what Karl meant. They should have not pandered and stuck to reality. When Karl says "I just shove the first four in", it doesn't work for crisps".

Over the last ten years I've come to believe that watching everything Karl Pilkington should be a life goal. And I was with you for first question until they said meals.... A bag of Revels. I love that Karl is Sick of it 30 secs in. And agree, ask him what he'd like to be, then tell him he's wrong. Doesn't make sense. Although as an Australian when he said Blue Bottle, I pictured our little jellyfish with painful stingers.
You should do a reaction to "Karl Pilkington - Wonderful Tonight" (they mentioned it as one of his fav songs) - it's a theory Karl has about the story behind the lyrics of an old song, and it's amazing! It was part of their old radio shows on XFM.

Flies not getting sick .... Then, I need to be a fly, cause I'm always getting sick. Even this past Wednesday. Three straight hours of non-stop vomiting, early in the morning. 😞It was a 24 hour bug. It's already annoying vomiting, but to be awakened to it, and not getting a good night's sleep because of it, that makes it all the more annoying. Especially when you can't stop. If it's true what Karl said about the fly, I wish I had a fly's system. It's like I have the opposite. I'm just a sickling.
What do pets hate? Being locked in a cage and not allowed to roam free and live their lives, like wild animals can. What do you hate about pets? Stuff similar to what Karl said. After that, I don't know what they were talking about.

The woman you're trying to remember is Diana Rigg when she was dressed in her Avengers costume. That's The Avengers which was a British tv show, not the American movie.
Greg Davis has a documentary on RUclips about Kes if you are interested. He goes to where it was filmed and speaks to the locals if you are interested.
Dame Diana Rigg played Emma Peele in the Avengers. Everybody had a crush on her. It is still a great show to watch--very surreal and laden with dark humor.

I remember watching Kes in school, it's a decent movie. I've not read the book, but the movie is decent. It's set in Yorkshire, so it might be a bit hard to understand. We miss out full words, and just say letters instead of full words.

Hello Mandy ,Kes was a film from 1960s/70s about a boy in the North of England ,he was a troubled child ( don't remember why/what ) who was helped when he started to train a hawk named Kes , sorry the details are a bit sketchy ❤.

Region changing on dvd players are set for some players, must be because of copyright territory ownership and things like that...im still suprised you can do that at all.

The chocolate thing you're thinking of are Munchies. They're essentially a crunchy malted milk ball (somewhat similar to the inside of a "Whopper" I think?) which is covered in caramel and then covered in milk chocolate in a pyramid shape with a squared off top. Utterly delicious!
It's quite embarrassing that I could've guessed more answers correctly for Karl than I likely can for my two best friends, despite knowing one for 36 years and the other for 30 years! I'm going to ask them these questions...
(but like Karl, i'd probably struggle to narrow down my answers to just one)

As I read them myself, I get the sense that that's what's been happening, and I'm sure it can get to be a lot, trying to keep up with all of the comments. Some videos might reach over 100 comments, and some are long winded and lengthy, including mine. Round of applause to Mandy for keeping up with the comments.

I'm going to unsub. You claim to be American, but all you do is Brit humor-to the point that you focus on the unfunny Brits (ex. Gervais) to the exclusion of American humor. Not all Brits are funny, and not all Americans aren't. I haven't watched one of you vids in weeks because of this, so I don't see the point any more.

I don't think you understand how most reaction channels work. UK people are more likely to react to US stuff and US or Argentine people react to UK stuff because they haven't seen it before. And this channels popularity is built on Ricky and Karl. If you think Ricky is unfunny then you have the problem. Off you fuck I guess 😅

You're taking it WAY too seriously. If that's how you feel, just go. But there are more important things in the world to critique to that extent than who content creators react to. The point of reactions is to react to stuff the person has not seen, and that stuff comes from everywhere in the world. A few days ago, she reacted to something that featured a clip from my city, and I'm in Cleveland, Ohio, USA. Just because someone is American doesn't mean they're stuck only reacting to American things. That would make all reaction channels stuck with only their own country's happenings, which keeps people from branching out, and not learning about other cultures or opening one's mind to those cultures is a bigger issue than what you complain about.
