Great and very fair review. My 2018 Titan PRO-4X has been a great truck. Handles off road obstacles very well and that is with the stock General Grabber tires. It is not a high-speed off roader but does extremely well for what it was designed to do.

I do have to say one thing about Nissan titans as you put a 2 inch leveling kit on the 4 x 4 Nissan Titan you can fit via good rich KO2’s 33 by 8 up under it with no problem and no cutting and they work very well
The Tundra TRD Pro certainly is definitely better at high speed and has the better braking limited slip system (ATRAC is better than the ABLS). On the other hand the rear locker on the Titan is a huge benefit for control when slow speed crawling. Both are great trucks!
The higher speeds in the Tundra are due to the fox shocks. I got the dealer installed Icon Vehicle Dynamics 3 inch suspension lift on my 2019 Pro 4x. Couldn't be happier. Drove Tundra TRD Pro, Titan Pro4x, and Ram Rebel. Felt the Titan was a the best option overall for an everyday, do it all truck that is ready for whatever I throw at it.
I really like this engine, too bad Nissan is really struggling with the full size trucks. They need to spice things up a bit, but I guess they're just done with that game for now.
We need some people to buy them as there are already whispers about them being discontinued. Had one for 13 years and traded it in for a Frontier due to timing and just a bunch of circumstances at the time (January 3rd, cold, food poisoning, and my business changed and I though it would be no big deal). The 2022 Frontier is a great truck but a Titan has more room, comfort, and oddly enough handles better while getting around the same mpg and it can be had at some dealers for only a few grand more. I went out and got one this past Saturday and I couldn't be happier. Man it feels good to be back in an amazing truck with real capability and comfort. I got it $7k off sticker too. Love my blue 2023!
I've been considering this model when I trade in my 2020 Ranger Fx4 in the near future. Would like to go back to a full size after owing the Colorado and then the Ranger.
For me personally, I don't like the systems with clutches. I like a shift level that I can feel shifting into and out of 4wd. For the vehicle my wife is driving, I like that she can just put it in 4wd auto and not have to worry about shifting in and out of 4wd high and 2wd in patches of snow or ice.
While ABLS is excellent it isn't equal to a locker. I actually slid off a rock using ABLS only, when I locked the rear it was much more stable and predictable.
It’s a Titan and no it’s not a special addition. They are great trucks my old Titan has 237,000 miles on it and it’s never let me down highly recommend it!
It has both ABLS and an electronically actuated locking rear diff. Once you push the rear diff lock button both rear wheels are mechanically locked together.
If it's for safety on paved roads up to a few inches of snow, then 4wd high with traction control on. If it's deep snow 4wd low. If it's for playing/practicing driving skills 2wd or 4wd high with traction control off.
Probably not much. Yes it would have had more clearance and if a good suspension system was put in then significantly more wheel travel, but the traction systems would perform the same.
Tires do make a huge difference for sure when off-roading. However, most of my testing isn't as much about the tires as it is about how the vehicles transfer power to the wheels with traction. I've had German sports SUVs on summer tires make the climb fairly easily, while others with slightly more off-road oriented tires have failed.
Awesome review but it’s a bit cringy seeing/hearing the wheels spin with a wheel off the ground. Not sure how much of those kind of trips a truck can handle.
Thanks for watching and commenting! I'm generally very careful about this. When you see the vehicle hopping, or rolling backwards while the wheels are spinning forward quickly, that's when damage is most likely to occur. While I am a little hard on the vehicles, I take many precautions (like going as slow as possible and getting off the throttle and onto the breaks asap whenever the vehicle bounces or moves backwards when in a forward gear). Think of this as something you only do a few times in your own vehicle to figure out how everything works, and the best driving methods. Once you have that down you'll know best how to care for your vehicle, even in challenging situations. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Some people thins if u have NISSAN u are poor! While Nissan is one of the best brand!! Some cars/pikcup trucks are better than toyota, ford, chevrolet, dodge(ram), jeep!!! The titan is far better than the uglie big mounth tundra!!
Better tires do make a difference, but the idea of the traction test is to leave 2 diagonal wheels completely without traction and see how the vehicle is able to transfer power to the wheels with traction.
@@EngineAdventures I get that. But better tires would mostly likely produce a different result in the first two test. I get that you are testing the mechanics but you are testing mechanics that were engineered for the normal on road and light off road the truck is designed for. Your test would be the abnormal so to get the most accurate result you would need to outfit the truck for abnormal off road driving. Jeeps are engineered for that, not the daily driving pickup. That’s all I am saying here.
@@EngineAdventures yeah you’re right, I noticed that they are AT’s too, but the tread pattern for an AT tires is rather weak IMO. I off road quite a bit in rock, mud, and snow. I run BFG AT K2 on my Titan. The BFG’s have a much better aggressive tread pattern and perform excellent. There are a lot of AT tires out there that look almost like regular truck street tires and are not aggressive enough for off roading. Again my opinion is that I think the truck would perform better with a more aggressive AT tire.
This hill is a lot steeper than it looks on camera. I've never had a vehicle make it up the entry to the hill in 2wd, much less through the rough sections. That includes some vehicles that can lock the rear differential in 2wd.
Hey not trying to bother you but I wanted to encourage you. And let you know if you haven’t I invite you to repent and accept the Lord Jesus as your savior. He was resurrected by the the father He’s waiting for you to say yes to him and accept the free gift of salvation. Please take up your cross and walk after him and deny yourself. He will take those sinful habits away (not judging) because I know he did it for me. Just surrender and obey him. He knows what you’re dealing with he created you he created us all. Just be sincere and willing in your prayers to change. And the lord Jesus will do the rest but it’s a lifestyle. He will change you just be obedient.

Think of this as something you only do a few times in your own vehicle to figure out how everything works, and the best driving methods. Once you have that down you'll know best how to care for your vehicle, even in challenging situations.
Thanks for watching and commenting!
Nice
Thanks!
He didnt have to park it like that.
The different off road modes comparison was great. Most guys just don't do that. They talk about stupid shit like cupholders.
Thanks, I try to cover different stuff, and I think people quickly see what I care about and don't care about by what I put in my reviews.
Some people thins if u have NISSAN u are poor!
While Nissan is one of the best brand!! Some cars/pikcup trucks are better than toyota, ford, chevrolet, dodge(ram), jeep!!!
The titan is far better than the uglie big mounth tundra!!
Better tires would help
I just love these new truck off road reviews and they all run crappy tires for off roading
These aren't bad tires, they're an AT which k think is great for someone who will be driving on All types of Terrain. 🙃
It's absolutely important to have the right tire for the terrain you're in! Thanks for sharing.
Nissan Titan. Not "Tye'in" TYE TAN. It's not a buh'in, a mow'in, or Hilary Clin'in.
English as a 1st language is hard. Ever been to "hurr-a-cun" Hurricane Utah?
My '15 titan can make it in 2wd n my 05 gmc 2wd
This hill is a lot steeper than it looks on camera. I've never had a vehicle make it up the entry to the hill in 2wd, much less through the rough sections. That includes some vehicles that can lock the rear differential in 2wd.
Interesante.
Gracias por ver el video!
@@EngineAdventures Por nada.Interesante Off Road.Saludos.
Hey not trying to bother you but I wanted to encourage you. And let you know if you haven’t I invite you to repent and accept the Lord Jesus as your savior. He came on this earth and died to save sinners. Of which I once was but I was set free by the shedding of his precious blood and you can be too.
Mainstream automotive journalists just shit all over this truck
It's a good reliable truck, and totally worth it for the right price.
