Had a GTS -R come out to a lapping event at our local track and that thing came within a few seconds of the overall lap record, and the guy was just going "easy". What an awesome awesome car.
Never forget Dodge ruining the Vette promotion the year they bested 2 records at Nuremberg. The Viper team sent over an ACR, bested the Vette's two records and set 7 more while they were there. Scrapped the whole Vette promotional plans that year. Vettes have always been Viper food.
It holds that record not just for an American car but ANY car….still. That wasn’t even its proven best (blew the tire with no back up car available), let that sink in.
@@mrsms-nt4lu Saw one, when they were new, up ahead of me on a all but deserted 4 lane suddenly downshift, car went sideways kicking the tail out on every shift, on dry pavement while disappearing from sight and sounding nothing short of exotic. I don't find any Viper ugly, just crowd stealingly unique and Uber special. Part of what makes America the envy of the world. Mopar or no car👍

@ i 100% agree might now like the older ones but they are one hell of a car 🫶 I would still drive it
