    The Viper is hands down my favorite car in the world and I got a chance to see my first one in person while I was out in the Hamptons in August of last year. It was a fifth-gen SRT 10 model (My favorite out of all the generations) in this exact shade of red. Sure, it might not have the best-sounding engine in the world, but the fact that it's a V10 at all more than makes up for it. Especially when it's paired with a manual transmission. It's a beautifully proportioned car to boot and a beast of a machine in ACR form. Now it's only a matter of time until Doug gets his hands on a fifth-gen Viper ACR.

If the driver door is unlocked, but the passenger door is locked the "Door Unlocked" is flashing instead of steadily displayed. It's steady when both doors are unlocked. That way you can tell which door(s) are unlocked at a glance.

    I absolutely love the Viper. I will never forget when my uncle took me to Chrysler dealership in Calgary back in the early 90’s and they had a red Viper in the showroom. The dealership was closed at the time but the car was right by the front glass. I was in absolute awe of the thing. The hood was open, revealing that massive engine. And those aggressive curves…As a 12 year old kid at the time, that memory is seared in my head. I hope Chrysler will bring back the viper!

    The Viper is the most pure car I’ve ever driven. No T/C, no ABS, and crazy grunt torque. Every turn is sideways. Straight acceleration starts with wheel spin and quickly transitions to head slamming traction. 89 miles on a tank of fuel….

      Vipers do indeed have abs. They added abs in the last few years of the gen 2. My 02’ gen 2 has abs and I’m very thankful it. My friends 97’ did not have abs and the fronts would lock up because of the poor caliper sizing.

    The Corvette from this Era was better in every way, plus the proximity key came out in 2005. I think the C-6 Z06 was faster, safer, and louder. Plus it was cheaper, easier to live with and some what frugal.

    • @t3hgir
      @t3hgir 2 месяца назад +1

      this would eat a C6 Z06 alive, and the C6 was a great car... Vipers are different completely. Corvette folks either get this or don't. Crashed Vipers are not a fault of the Viper. Plenty of idiots crash Corvettes.
      Edit: I say this admitting daily driving a Z06 would make more sense obviously... This ACR Viper was the most extreme, track-focused Viper.. But if given a choice of even an RT/10 Gen 1 Viper, I'd take the Chrysler.

Immense torque at low revs and linear power delivery from the engine..Fully independent suspension, massive brakes and tires (for the time).. proper weight-saving throughout the car.. That car got me into cars all the way back before I could even talk, and every single Viper model and edition holds a special place in my heart. My first word was car. Not mom, not dad, but CAR. And shortly after, it was VIPER. My parents can attest as well. I love this car and everything it stands for. As much as I dislike Stellantis, FCA, etc., the Viper will always have a place in my heart.
