Hey Doug, I thought you were going to review a new car built today. Plz reply
How many takes did this take? It's like your trying not to laugh after everything.
@@tengu190 Teue
I think about 25 takes,@@tengu190
You can tell Doug is now a dad because he never misses an opportunity to sit down.
Hahahahaha, true
😂😂😂😂😂😂
😂😂so true
So true lmao to funny
Remember when he used to kneel on pavement to demonstrate quirks and features like 4 times a video?! Lol, that's reserved for kid teaching moments now, gotta save them knees too!
Somebody breaks into Dougs house......
Doug: THISSSSS... is a 12 Guage Shotgun
He's gonna show it's quirks and features
LMAO
🤣🤣
giv up on your comedy hopes and dreams, you're really not at all funny
Bahahaha. The corks and features include a mag light and the ability to hold 6 buck shot rounds.
You know it’s a special car when Doug wears a t shirt with cargo shorts
Yeah, because jeans would be sooooooo much more comfortable. The guy works for himself and doesn't need to care how "fashionable" he is.
@@80s_Boombox_Collectorwe know, chill out lmao
@@80s_Boombox_Collector shut up man
Woooosh..!
@@80s_Boombox_Collector You realise there's probably a comment about his shorts on every single video he's ever made? It's an ongoing joke.
600hp in 2008 was pretty bananas.
It's still respectable today.
@@bwofficial1776, Hyundai Ioniq N crossover: Hold my beer. (641 HP).
@@Josh-179 Sure, EVs are fast, but FFS. They are no where near as enjoyable to look at as the Viper. And again, Yeah, the Ioniq is quick, I know because I drove one. I punched it and was amazed at the motorcycle like acceleration. I was also amazed to watch the power meter literally drop when I did it. So yeah, you can be quick, but only a few times...
People sometimes make the assumption that 600hp was the peak for this engine. The reality is that Dodge put relatively tame camshafts in these cars to pass emissions regulations. Upgrading the cam to turn 7,000+ rpm (like most supercars) the Viper makes 730hp.
@@Josh-179 He said respectable, not record breaking. I swear EV people are more insufferable than cyclists.
I love that dodge's solution to people burning their legs on the exhaust was basically just telling them to get good
You should see the "open top" warning sticker on a Gen 1. It says Warning, the support bar behind the seats is NOT a roll bar. This is an open top vehicle, drive at your own risk.
@@Oliver_Things I think I do remember seeing that
You have to love when Dodge's executives and engineers get together with a bunch of cocaine. Side exit exhausts and no traction control? Why not? A convertible pickup truck? Of course! A tallened station wagon on the K-platform that ended up revolutionizing family transport in the late 80s and early 90s? Do it! A Viper-powered street truck? Let's go!
Why didn’t they just put heat shields
@@BingBangBrine because that would cost more
"What is this car?" "VIPERRRR" I still remember this from the first Viper video😂 I was wondering if he was going to do that too😂
Doug’s videos back in the day inspired me to buy my Gen1
Bruh, I laughed at it soo hard the first time I saw that video XD
That brake light moment was just comedy gold
it was an amazing callback :)
Damn! I was thinking the same thing!! Only true Doug fans know this😂
Brought me back to the middle school days watching his vids 😂
Doug the type of guy to make car sounds and tire screeching sounds when drifting his shopping cart
Doesn't everyone do that?
Hahaha who doesn't do that?!
Doug the type of guy to explain the shopping carts quirks and features to other customers during checkout
@@SimonGreene I'd watch that video if he made one
I do this all the time 😁
ADDITIONAL QUIRK!! The wing is, of course, 1776 mm wide. Not a coincidence.
Now THAT is a feature.
I was amazed he didn't bring it up
Freedom raaahhhhhhh
Not a coincidence indeed! But that's for the Gen 5 ACR (not the ACR Extreme, just the ACR). The Viper ACR in the video is a Gen 4 ACR
What happened in 1776?
I remember seeing this vehicle back in 2008 in Top Gear magazine, and I was like, That’s the coolest car ever.
It still causes that same reaction in me.
This ACR and the c6 ZR1 🥵
@@rikashvanveelen993 with the aftermarket c7 headlights. Looks so good
There actually IS a cupholder there, the ashtray sits in it. Its even listed on the window sticker you showed earlier in the video, as "Removable Ashtray".
Only thing I needed to know lol
I’ve never been a Dodge/Chrysler guy. But I Gotta hand it to Dodge for building such an insane car. Just pure badassery. Uncompromised and unholy.
This car reminds me of the 750 Kawasaki 2 stroke back in the day! The Widowmaker..
Did you coin a new word? badassery!!!!
@@garys9694 That word has been around for a long time.
Hey wargasm, just wanted to say that I used to be an atheist and was suicidal and drug addict and depressed- looked at different religions and grew up in church w it forced on me- but I had a radical encounter with Jesus Christ and he radically set me free of all the above things listed and more
Had an abusing dad and a lot of hurt
I want to tell you that Jesus loves you man and he died for you and despite religion he just wants to know you personally
He’s the only way to heaven and doesn’t want you to go to hell and all you have to do it believe in him and what he did
Bless you man, I pray you have the same awakening I did
@@Tharvey9421why did you choose to tell that to him particularly? Because he said unholy? Genuinely curious.
Does anybody else get classic Doug video vibes with this review? Not just with the nostalgic "What is this car? VIPER!!" but also just starting with the exterior quirks instead of a general overview and reading through the window sticker.
Wondered if anyone noticed that as well!
Yup
I think its being outside mostly, without echo around. He cannot shout in garage because of echo
Oh sorry, he is back inside for most of the video, just different part. Still sound better but I think being outside for intro has better feeling
@@5oldatoI didn’t notice until someone took notice. I even searched Doug’s old Viper video to find out. Very funny and nostalgic! 😂
6:08 crazy to see a window sticker on a performance car like this without a $15,000 dealer markup tacking into the options list.
All the Dodges in my area are marked down well over 5k
This car even includes the original “dealer must remove cover” sticker on the accelerator pedal 😂 15:45
A 7 on styling feels criminal given how iconic this is, especially since its only 1 point higher than a 2018 mustang GT. I think he just doesn't like vipers honestly.
Ya, it's at least an 8 but could easily be a 9. Especially the first 2 and last generations. His score doesn't mean anything though.
lol would be weird if he didn't like Vipers, he used to own one 😂
It's an easy 9 for me.
7.5 I would say. It’s not elegant. It has a huge spoiler and other aero kit. It’s not smooth and has a lot going on. It’s a great looking car but it’s not a stunning beauty. It’s cool as hell looking though. It’s a 9 there.
I have a 2006 Viper, Ive had many corvettes, but nothing like a Viper, love every minute of it!
I too, own a 2006 Viper. 👍
Screw Hellcats and Scatpacks, this right here is the real deal. very underrated muscle car, now it has just been forgotten and under appriciated.
As a 90’s kid, there was and always will be something special about the viper. Blue with white stripes. Doesn’t get cooler than that.
That's what I'm saying dude
This generation of Viper is absolutely beastly. We'll never get cars like this again.
What are you talking about? They still make crazy cars. You’re just seeing this with nostalgia.
@@bewareofsasquatch I think he means it was a huge engine, with no traction control, and sidepipes
@@bewareofsasquatch There are very very few "affordable" cars with large displacement engines. Nowadays even 4 cylinder bi-turbo fart cans are 70-80k.
We will NEVER get this type of cars with massive engine, naturally aspirated, almost no driver assists and THE LOOKS. For me the Viper has always been the looks. It is more of a statement car than a Ferrari from my point of view. It's simple, it's raw, it has brutal lines and does not want to "impress", it wants to shock.
I remember this car when I was growing up.
I've been enjoying Dodge Viper vehicles since I was a kid way back in around 2005, it was a new 2005 Dodge Viper SRT-10.
I am really euphoric about it ever since I saw that thing at the Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram dealership there in Ringgold, Georgia.
I was car spotting one of these, and it was one of my most amazing days I've ever seen that in my life as a kid myself when there's a V10-engine powered brand new Dodge Viper SRT-10 at the showroom.
Back in the day, it costs $79,995 or more for more opinions.
Thank you Doug Demuro for making my childhood stories happy and staying alive!
It really makes my day!
Doug the type of guy to shoot his intro outdoors then do the review in his dark batcave
Wow! Did you come up with that painfully obvious comment on your own or did one of your fellow mental patients at the asylum help you? Grow up.
I was just on one of Doug’s old videos, the comparison between his old viper and the viper acr. I then thought that Doug should do a full review of the viper acr. Clicked off of it and here it is uploaded like a minute later.
Buy a lottery ticket 😭
08-10 is my favorite viper. The green color they offered in these years was drop dead gorgeous
Doug's the type of guy to roast marshmallows with a Dodge Viper's side exhaust
That actually sounds fun lol
People have done that with the top exhaust of cars like the McLaren 600LT and the Porsche 918 Spyder.
Lol hey if you can and want to. Better than roasting your calves accidentally.
The Viper is the most pure car I’ve ever driven. No T/C, no ABS, and crazy grunt torque. Every turn is sideways. Straight acceleration starts with wheel spin and quickly transitions to head slamming traction. 89 miles on a tank of fuel….
Vipers do indeed have abs. They added abs in the last few years of the gen 2. My 02’ gen 2 has abs and I’m very thankful it. My friends 97’ did not have abs and the fronts would lock up because of the poor caliper sizing.
One of my top favorite cars of all time. This, the Saleen s7, the AC Cobra and the 69 Camaro SS are my all time top FAVORITES. This generation of the viper is so underrated and it’s definitely my favorite gen of any viper
The Viper and Saleen S7 were some of the greatest American super/hypercars of all time. Such a shame they get overshadowed by the vettes, Ford gt and Hennessey Venom
“Shelby”
@@jamesgarvey8402 he's not wrong at all
@@khaosking2937 The Viper was meant for track enthusiasts with experience driving big American V8 supercars. As such, it garnered quite the reputation for being dangerous in the hands of most drivers. The media really killed the Viper as a result. Plus, most Corvette owners want something comfortable to cruise in. With sloppy handling and automatic transmissions. The Viper never was meant to appeal to the masses. Even the 5th gen Viper wasn't popular, due to being offered with only a manual transmission. Even though it was the nicest Viper by far with ABS and TSC for your average meathead.
@@PyroBlonde7777 you're absolutely right
Not sure if this was a rumor, but the one quirk that always comes to mind is that the wing measures to 1776mm wide, referencing the year the decleration of independence was signed. badass
That stripe is absolutely killer!
Ahhh, Doug missed a bonus quirk. With the door unlocked message in the screen, it's different if you have just the driver door unlocked versus if you have both doors unlocked. If the driver door is unlocked, but the passenger door is locked the "Door Unlocked" is flashing instead of steadily displayed. It's steady when both doors are unlocked. That way you can tell which door(s) are unlocked at a glance.
Gen 5 ACR's get all the press, but these earlier ACR's are incredible too. This color combo is iconic!
Amazing how this car was used in so many video games such as Gran Turismo to Forza to Asphalt. This was my favorite car to drive in Blur. Such an icon
As a person who chooses this in every video game I play, I see this review as an absolute win.
Most badass Viper ever made, especially in that colour scheme.
3:00 A nice throwback to one of Doug's old videos when he owned a Viper lol
“Gas Guzzler Tax” on the window sticker 🤣
I always loved the viper… from the gen one with the soft top… to the Viper tv show and the ACR is my favorite… I would happily take this car over any super cars! It’s up there with the best of them imo
Not the bunker again! The opening shot was so nice and then we went down, 1000 ft underground.
Doug will keep reviewing cars. No matter what. Fallout? Zombies have taken over the surface? No matter. He’ll be safe underground discussing quirks & features.
The Viper is hands down my favorite car in the world and I got a chance to see my first one in person while I was out in the Hamptons in August of last year. It was a fifth-gen SRT 10 model (My favorite out of all the generations) in this exact shade of red. Sure, it might not have the best-sounding engine in the world, but the fact that it's a V10 at all more than makes up for it. Especially when it's paired with a manual transmission. It's a beautifully proportioned car to boot and a beast of a machine in ACR form. Now it's only a matter of time until Doug gets his hands on a fifth-gen Viper ACR.
I remember this being my go to for gran turismo 5 and 6. It was an insanely good car for the price, maxing out upgrades made it an absolute monster.
Pretty much unbeatable as a 600 pp 'normal car' in the game. 🤟
You can’t be serious!! I literally used to do the same thing playing GT5 back in the early 2010s.
I absolutely love the Viper. I will never forget when my uncle took me to Chrysler dealership in Calgary back in the early 90’s and they had a red Viper in the showroom. The dealership was closed at the time but the car was right by the front glass. I was in absolute awe of the thing. The hood was open, revealing that massive engine. And those aggressive curves…As a 12 year old kid at the time, that memory is seared in my head. I hope Chrysler will bring back the viper!
I had an ACR neon which also had the fog light delete. this was for brake cooling. probably the same idea for the ACR viper.
I miss the days when Doug reviewed quirky cars just because they were quirky and not because they happen to pass through cars and bids
I have a feeling it had to do with the deal he made selling his auction site and becoming co owner essentially. Like he's contractually obligated to review only quirky cars that pass through the site.
I remember Randy Pobst taking the 2016 version around Laguna Secs and just being mesmerized by it.
Doug the kind of guy who steals dust caps
Why is he your profile pic? Weirdo
THIS, is one of the GOATS
Back when Dodge made cars that deserved to be on a poster.
Now, every Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep deserves to be in a junkyard
Nice to see you reviewing another viper! Growing up in the late 90s/00s they were always some of my favorite performance cars, and I particularly loved the 3rd generation. I think it's the best looking out of all of them.
I absolutely love how the solution to the exhaust pipe burning calves problem was "just don't".
The Viper was a BADA$$ car🔥 back then and still is!!!!!!
i have a 2008 viper tattoo on my leg!! i love this car! ever since i seen the 96 viper gts.. i was hooked!
I met a guy who turned his ACR into a SVRA race car. It’s a bright green car that’s loud! It sounds pretty good if k may say so myself.
This is my second favorite car, just behind the Oreca Viper GTS-R ex-Justin Bell. That car got me into cars all the way back before I could even talk, and every single Viper model and edition holds a special place in my heart. My first word was car. Not mom, not dad, but CAR. And shortly after, it was VIPER. My parents can attest as well. I love this car and everything it stands for. As much as I dislike Stellantis, FCA, etc., the Viper will always have a place in my heart.
Hardcore?? Did Doug learn a new word? 😂😂😂
VIPER!!!!!!!!! The Viper is hands down the coolest American car ever made. It’s not even close.
Gt40 for me
Finally!!!!!! Waited a long time for this video. I remember just a few years ago these were going for $100k. Not any more!
Always loved the red/black color scheme on this special car. It just screams track day
God. I love this car.
Oh it's for sale? Hold on, Let me check my bank account...
Hmm, do you have any viper gum for sale? Cause that's about what I can afford...
This is such a gorgeous car...
The best looking Viper
After the '99 GTS obviously, the one Doug owned actually, electric blue with white stripes!!
Fun fact, Doug is incorrect about the beginning of common proximity keys. 2007+ Infiniti G35's, M's etc all have a proximity fob with push button start. Even the 2003-06 G's had proximity fobs, just needed starter barrels that drivers turned as they would a key.
DOUG!!! START FILMING OUTSIDE AGAIN!!!!!
Doug is evolving... He finally stopped wearing double tee shirts like it was 2006.
Yooooo papa Yam 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
No his wife is just behind with laundry
Too hot in Cali
Viper breaklight Doug saying VIPERRR as an easter egg from 2016 - 10/10 not disappointed with this guy :D
This car will always and forever be my favorite car. Its such a monster! It deserves to return ngl
Doug's the type of guy to embroider his socks "L" for left and "R" for right so he'll know which foot to put them on.
you win! lmao
Not original. A dead meme. Pathetic
Doug is the kinda guy people see waiting at the lights in a Dodge Viper ACR, waving his hands around and seemingly talking to himself.
We can count on you to use a dead meme and to make a stupid comment trying desperately to be relevant and humorous. Yet again, you have failed miserably. Just go away.
Dear Doug, i loved when you reviewd cars outside! The sun shining, the background, no eco, it was much better! ❤😊
Doug I’ve been waiting years for you to review this car. Thank you
i remember playing this in gran turismo, the engine sound was insane
Top speed runs
My personal favorite generation of Viper. Just looks great in any color and any trim
19:30 is a perfect clip for Doug DeMuro out of Context
Doug the type of guy to describe a car like both a criminal and an adult movie.
Love your style, it's like a burst of creativity in every video!
🤡
I am absolutely all over that livery/paint, looks so menacing and bada$$.
I love the old review throwback. “What is this car? Viperr. What is this car?? VIPPERRRRRRR”
The outside hood access is not quirky, just old-fashioned. Common feature on cars before you were born Doug.
19:30 Dougs face lol
One of my buddy's dad's had one of these. I think he sold it in 2014. I bet he wishes he held on to it now. Such a blast to drive. Insane car.
Thanks for another interesting and informative Viper video 👍🏻
Dougs the type of guy to rev a V10 to 2,500rpm because he dosent want to upset his neighbors

What a majestic feat of Engineering, I'll have to be financially stable in every sense before purchasing my first supercar. The best thing to do with your money is to invest rightly because money left saving will end up with no returns.
That's one of the great aspects of owning a Viper. The parts are generally cheap, because many of them are shared with other Chrysler products. Not to mention it is a simple OHV pushrod V10 and easy to work on. Most Viper owners realize just how reliable the car really is when maintained.
Bots can buy cars?
I really like it that you are filming your reviews (at least partially) outside again.
The difference in Doug's opinion of the logo lighting up and that of Clarkson and May is awesome.
Doug the kind of guy who dresses up as a fairy for trick or treating
4/10
I could see that 😂😂😂
Yet another stupid comment from the king of the village idiots, James Zancone
I give this "doug the kind of of guy". A doug score of 2/10
I remember when I was 11 years old and saw that this car was going to be in NFS Hot Pursuit 2010, and I thought it was the coolest car ever. Then 14 years later, I saw one in person in my town and I still feel that same level of excitement today. It's such an awesome car.
The last time I went to Costco, I thanked God for that 1000lb of downforce.
Steering wheel stripe was a nice touch.
When the trunk of the viper is open, it kinda looks like a real viper about to bite
Oh finally Dough had an opportunity to test this beast, I've been waiting for this review for years.
The 2017 viper ACR is one of my dream cars❤
My absolute dream car to own
That 1:33 edition looks good as hell. I'm usually not a fan of colored wheels, but that's sharp.
Love how he is jiggling around when accelerating. It must be fun to be sitting in that viper.
I cannot stop laughing at “get ready to shift” 😂. Doug’s tough guy voice is one of his quirks and features.
Thank you Doug I like the 2000s performance cars
