Doth! What a fantastic review. I really enjoyed watching this before I made my purchase on this bag. I can attest for your compartmentalizing. I also loved your solution for the strap not falling to the ground. Great review!! 10 out of 10. Thank you for this.
I've seen them, but not used them. Grip makes good stuff, and if you have a need for a small bag with storage, then this bag covers most the bases. Price is a personal thing, but golf is a "treat yo self" sport.
Been using mine for 4 months and I get 11 in comfortably. And I can get 12 in without crazy effort just not quite as smooth. 3 mids easily in the top pocket and zipper still closes, 2 putters in the sleeve, and 6 drivers in the main pocket. I don't like a disc in the front pocket and that pocket is perfect for a phone. Will try the strap tether which looks really smart. Thanks for the review.
Thank you for the review, I just ordered one and am looking forward to it. I think the durability and functionality is worth the extra few bucks (guaranteed). I rarely use the second strap on my grip buzz bag so not too concerned about that. I will most likely look at that retractable idea for the strap as well.
Retractable key chain for the shoulder strap, genius! Just received my G-series this week and see the need to keep my shoulder pad clean as well. I plan to hit up local office supply store for the key chain.
You nailed it with the price point for sure! I wanted to hear your thoughts on this bag when they got released, it is an awesome bag for what it is. I too believe that they knocked it out the park with the design and space utilization. But with that said I just can't see spending 99 dollars specially when the MVP Voyager is the same price right now. Next week is my birthday on the 26th so I'm hoping to get a new bag..lol! Thanks for doing the review always love watching ur content!
Actually, you can find the MVP Voyager for $54 on Amazon. I just got mine and it's a great second bag that will hold 20 discs easily with plenty of storage in a small footprint.
Not local, I've ordered a bunch from them on-line and they also sent me a bunch of free and discount discs to help me do some analysis on larger batches of discs
Just got mine yesterday, one thing I noticed is if you tuck your cover behind the most rearward divider it protects it from scuffs and dirt. It also seems to lay flatter.
I also like tucking it behind the most rearward divider. I can fit an extra disc or 2 in the new slot it creates. It is a great bag and a great review too. Drawback is # of discs.
Doth, this is a great review, thanks. Toward the end, you state that there are a number of other superlight bags with better storage and your two-strap preference. My question is, what are your contenders for best bag in this class: superlight, 8-12 discs, two strap, water and gear storage? Thanks in advance.
Upper Park Designs Shift v6, unfortunatly out of stock right now. Ive been using a Fade Crunch Box with backpack straps(I forget what name Fade gives them, but they are sold seperate) and im loving it for a lightweight quick bag. The Shift holds more extra gear compared to the Fade Crunch Box. Also the water bottle holder on the fade will not fit a 32oz nalgene.
@@DothSavek Many thanks for your prompt and informative reply. The Shift holds more discs than I was seeking, but maybe the trick is just to under-stuff it. I'm curious to know whether it is stable on the ground (I bet I'll find the answer in your review.) I really like the size/concept of the Focus, but I imagine one's only choice is to hang it, where possible, or just to lay it on the ground (not optimal). I appreciate your detailed evaluations.
@@masscat7170 The shift is not the most stable bag but some of the that can be taken care of by paying attention to how you load the bag. I do go into that in my review. The trick is to keep discs in the bottom side pockets first and then only put discs up top if you need the extra space. I don't like the idea of the Focus as you would have to lay the bag on the ground like you said. Playing in wet grass or mud or snow and you either have to get the back of the bag dirty which then gets your back dirty or you lay it with the disc side down and all your discs get dirty. I've never tried that style of bag, but thats just how I think it would work.
I've seen so many reviews about so many products and 99% of them are terrible because the person making the video just babbles on and on and on just wanting to hear themselves talk. Reminds me of the line from the movie Rush Hour when Jackie Chan says, "I let people talk just to see how full of shit the really are." Your review is the best review I have seen. You were very detailed and organized and actually had objects to put into the bag to demonstrate its effectiveness. GREAT JOB!
I think probably because it would take away from their C series bag sales. I think it was smart for them to make sure to avoid overlap with one of their existing bags.
Great review & good looking bag! I use the fossa skinny which is no longer made . Fossa just released a mini skinny which also is a single strap / 10 disc bag
doth savek it actually has two left & right . A 21 oz bottle is really pushing it ...16 oz in each mesh side pocket fits the bill . I played with that bag today .
@@gearntrailetc.8257 Oh I see they are sitting flat against the bag. I looked at the picture on Fossa's web site and didn't see drink holders bulging out so I assumed it didn't have any. After your comment I went back and zoomed in and could see the mesh and elastic.
@@gearntrailetc.8257 Yes, but I have been pushing it to the bottom of the list. I have The Ridge on my list too and may try and do those two together. Likely I will do them before the summer is over.
Ordered one but have been using the infinite slinger bag, cannot go wrong with it for the $20 price tag. Only complaint on the slinger is it doesn't stand very well, likes to fall over. Doesn't hold a larger bottle either. But I wish grip would make the g bags with a single shoulder strap like the slinger. Its super easy on and off for quick rounds.
Hey man, firstly I'd like to say that I REALLY appreciate the information you're providing on these products. You have saved me endless amounts of time, money, frustration with your video reviews. But to my question, I got my wife the g series grip bag and she loves it except for the strap. It appears to me, that the bag has the clips needed to attach standard backpack straps. Would you be able recommend a specific model or brand of aftermarket straps?
If I remember right the G series has 2 spots where the normal shoulder strap connects. You can connect backpack straps to just 2 points, however the backpack straps are designed to have 4 connecting points to have the bag carry the best. So, yes you can connect backpack straps but it may not make the whole set up quite as nice as you would wish. Not sure what straps to recommend. There are 3 different strap sets on Infinite discs, and I would probably try one of them.
@@DothSavek excellent point. We'll give 1 a try and see how it goes. Thanks again for taking the time to share the information with everyone. Much appreciated 😁
@@kspang85 Someone on the DG Course Review forums attached a set of Phenix Quad Shocks straps to a G Series bag (there's a picture in the link): www.dgcoursereview.com/forums/showthread.php?t=134259&page=5 It looks like Phenix went out of business, but there are a number of other 4-point dg backpack straps available online for $20-30.
Bottom of the bag has a hard panel insert. Fabric covers the insert. There are two hard plastic thick runners that run from front to back. Same look of hard plastic runners that Grip has on all of their bags. Stability is very good. I cant remember having to baby sit the bag at all when I'm setting it down. I would have to be setting it on a large root or branch to have it tip over. On steep hillsides you will have the same stability problems as most other bags.
yo @waffles I'm way late to your comment but I also snagged a Crunch Box recently and I totally love it. I got some weather straps for it and its sick. I just wish the bottle holder would take a nalgene.
this guy is on point... answering questions that i didn't even know i had. really wish this was a backpack, though. :( would quad shocks or other straps turn it into a comfortable backpack, or would that be awkward?
There are only 2 spots to connect straps, so if you use a quad harness then you have to connect all four clips to only 2 spots on the bag and that makes the bag carry oddly on your back. If you like this similar size bag and want to have a premium bag with nice shoulder harness then the Revolution Deluxe Mini with the optional Harness is the best set up made(but its expensive).

Not knocking the quality of grip. I'm sure it's a great bag but if I'm going to carry 10 discs with a shoulder bag for me it a fade gear. The price doesn't justify the functionality.
