    Thanx for the great video now i know it can be like this , i was thinking of getting a steam deck to play like steam games that I can’t play on my ps5 some casual games. With zero knowledge on pc or steam do you think its best choice for someone with no pc knowledge to get it .

      Yw! The Deck is very console like so if that's what you feel more comfortable in then I believe the Deck will feel familar to you. If you ever want to venture into more advanced settings the deck has those for you whenver you're ready.

    If you had a good pc in another room in the house couldn't you use remote play on the steam deck to stream games from that PC to your deck+dock+tv at 4k 60fps? Thats what i plan to do (assuming it works). Deck OLED arrived today and i was trying out streaming via remote play from pc to deck using default settings and it was giving a really good 60fps ultra quality image on the deck (only thing was brightness was a bit lower than expected). Havent tried dock yet.

    • @TaylorBrauer
      @TaylorBrauer  7 месяцев назад

      Yep, you could do that. The dock would be nice to have a place to rest the SD on and connect to a TV.

  • @M0nst3rSlay3r
    @M0nst3rSlay3r Год назад +2

    Let's say I wanna play Resi 2 remake with the steam deck (PS5 controller) connected to a 4K TV.
    What would be the settings in the steam deck (desktop mode -> display settings -> resolution?) and what would the settings look like in the settings of the game? I mean what resolution should I use there and what about FSR? Enabled or disabled?
    To be more precise, do I need to upscale the game from the steam deck's resolution to 4K via FSR?

    • @TaylorBrauer
      @TaylorBrauer  Год назад +2

      A lot depends on the game you're playing. I'm not familiar with Resi 2 in particular but, I have found that pushing games passed 1080p natively starts to become a struggle for the deck. If you want the easiest plug and play solution, just use the default game mode on SteamOS because you're guaranteed 720p every time. If you want to fiddle with settings then you can use desktop mode and try as many combinations as you'd like.

    • @TaylorBrauer
      @TaylorBrauer  12 дней назад

      Monitor is 2k and tv is 4k. If running in "game mode" then all games run at 720p. If you run in desktop mode you can set whatever resolution you want. 720p on a 4k screen isn't going to look good sitting close to it. I'd recommend sitting far way enough that the image looks smooth.

    Deck seems like a nice portable gaming device, but why would you settle for playing Deck games at 720p on your TV, when you could just play the same games on your PS5 in native HD resolutions?

    • @TaylorBrauer
      @TaylorBrauer  Год назад +2

      I think that's a really fair point and, in my opinion, it's about the other stuff that makes it compelling. Stuff like desktop mode, older PC game compatibility, and emulation. If we're just looking at it from a quality perspective I'd 100% agree with you that console is the better option.
