Thank you so much for the guides. I just started Nioh 3 coming from Dark Souls 3 and Bloodborne. Your videos have been immensely helpful and I just wanted to share that. Also, you got yourself a new subscriber. Thanks again!
Staring this exact build/play through today. Should be fun. This will be my 5th play through already done a Kusa/Hatchets/Tonfa/Switchglaive run. Not sure what to expect here really. I tend to prefer lighter faster weapons but I've been wanting to do a para build and because of the weapon featured here I'm giving it a try.
I was struggling to figure out what to go for on odachis since there aren't a lot of armor sets that really make them work. However this build has been working just fine for me. Might go more into a str/stam build at NG+ but this has definitely done well for the first few chapters.
I never tried Odachi in the first game so I wanted to give it a try this time around. Really struggled to get past the first region not going to lie. Once I started using paralysis I have been able to destroy Revenants and get better gear finally. Progress is flying nown thanks.
I have something that might be helpful in toon building. This game makes you double check before you make any decision. So, before you decide, go into your 'learn skills' tab. Before you choose. See what you need. Be sure to choose wisely. Fill up your move set slots, look for what you need, for your chosen weapons. Leave no position unfilled, asap. Fill that 'unlearned' space. Any stance will do. Variety is the spice of life! You will thank me later. There is a lot to be said for block and counter, for example. Also, as soon as you can level, level. Shrine and reset and use that Amorita you have earned. Sacrifice some early levels into weight management. Early levels are cheap, Armor is heavy, You do the math. I am a B student, myself. Protect yourself stay loose and breath.
Paralyzing is crazy when you have the right buffs. I use Dual Hatchets and the Switchglaive mostly though. I have a total of 44.8% extra damage against enemies with paralysis with an Extended Elemental Weapon passive at 42.3%. The accumulation is only at 12.9% but with the Dual Hatchets the speed at which they attack builds up the paralysis decently quick.
You can just temper accessories now and get accumulation AND melee damage increase. Disassembling weapons and armor also gives you umbracite and fragments to make more, then just spend to roll
@@Ecco_The_Dolphin thank you very much, it's just what i did today. We will probably do some mechanics video but gotta get the builds out of my system first! In the meantime you can find soul core info here: nioh2.wiki.fextralife.com/Soul+Cores
You can get +24% damage bonus to paralysed enemies on accessories as well and its not that uncommon. I have it on 2 of mine and was going to go with a build similar to this as I like the Odachi but went Ninja in the end with Kunai and am having a blast. Just have to not get hit cos im likely to die if I am.
If not mistaken, I believe I picked mine up from the sub quest where there's that cat in the center of the stage. Hell idk, I just ran around killing all the revenants and before I knew it, I completed the stage and I had it.
The crafting text itself drops from the Snake woman Yokai in the Third story area with the Snake boss! I couldn't find any information regarding its location and randomly found it like my third time on the way to the boss, good luck!
Profligate Sinner/ Malefactor are static loot from Master of the Three Evils (DAWN) Mission. Just be aware you do need to do the mystic art quest for dual katana to unlock it
Isnt the 2nd hit of the grapple stronger? To me it looks like a skill would be better to use, since only the first hit counts as the enemy being paralyzed, you can clearly see in all the clips that the first hit is doing much more. Usually the 2nd hit of the grapple does more.
The text comes from a submission late in the third or fourth area. Youre gonna have to find one from a drop and keep upgrading it when you get the one you want.
All you really need is Bloodspider Blade and Nure-Onna Soul Core. From there it's just adding things you find that make it better and gaining enough Ninjutsu Skill points to get Medusa Powder.
I use spear and i've found that to be pretty good. It also scales with strenght and i think also stamina? It has nice range and is alot quicker which is good in situations where you feel that the odatchi is too slow.

I'm using an Odachi, don't go past 15, I went to 13 before I stopped leveling it. Swapped to Stamina, the damage loss is minimal and it offers a lot of play in your weight. At the point I'm in the game now I mostly gave up paralyzing as a lot of enemies aren't that vulnerable too it and am tilting over to tank with throwing stars and using magic a lot more, stamina regen is pretty good(And can be buffed) and I have blue toughness so a few bosses/enemies I can just barrel through. A lot of people seem to maintain a sort of "get good light rolls only" but sometimes just face tanking something and beating it to death with a small troop of cats is way more fun.

Nice idea but there's a lot of paralysis immune stuff in this game and you're going to have to kill them the old fashioned way. Unfortunately a lot of them are also yokai who are resistant to corruption. I main Odachi and use master archer with lightning imbued odachi. This gives +20% bow damage, +15% lightning damage (which applies to lightning shot and elemental soulcore abilities like Mitsume Yazura corrupted breath).
