"Instead of endowing them with superhuman abilities to resolve their problems it gives them limitations" made me understand what makes underdogs so compelling
This is my favorite show. I tried to get my friend into this show and he had his doubts because he never watched a sports anime before. He was super resistant to watching it so one day I came to his hoise and forced him to watch it with me because I have rewatched the show all the way through 11 times I didnt mind watching it again. We watched up to episode 17 in a day and he said be liked it but wasn't hooked so I came back and we kept watching it and by the end of season 2 he loved it and he ended up crying at the end of season 3. He probably wont watch the new season on his own so when its finished I'm going to go and rewatch it with him.
I love Haikyuu so much I can't even tell. I've rewatched all the seasons at least 4 times. Read the manga completely at least 4 times. I can sum it up in one word- It's REAL. Everything in it feels real, be it characters, struggles, achievements, failures, or relationships. As a footballer and football(or soccer) fan myself, I never cared about volleyball, at all. But because of Haikyuu, I have started watching it and really enjoy it as well. Great video man, came here from your recent Re: Zero video on Subaru's parents. Great stuff, subscribed!
Alls well that ends well, right? Glad she got to it eventually! Haikyuu was one of the first anime I ever watched because it came out just around the time I was getting into anime. Honestly one of my true loves and one of the first manga that I continued reading after the anime!
But bro I've just seen your darling in the franxx videos and I've just watched anime you're god bro. That anime hit me so hard I never felt like this. This anime is something special for me.Sorry I'm talking about different anime and not about this but I'm fukin late XD.
This show really pulls you in and not let you go. My MOM got hooked on this anime so that tells you a lot. I was watching the 2nd season in the living room and she came in, looked at it, sat down and binged watched the whole show with me. (She doesn't watch anime on her own however we watched AoT, the promised neverland, haikyuu and a lot of Naruto episodes together:)
I love Haikyuu for so many reasons. It made me realize so many things. It made me not only appreciate but respect the shonen genre and volleyball to a degree i never though possible. It's also like, my happy pill. I have watched it multiple times and i have read the manga like 3 times now and know what's going to come next but i still get in the moment and end up screaming at my phone 😂 And most importantly, *IT MAKES ME FEEL ACCOMPANIED AND SO ALONE AT THE SAME TIME. **_IT HURTS SO GOOD_* 😂 P.S. I'm so happy that you didn't just say that it was hype and actually nailed what made it good 😂 what made me really look down on shonen is how i keep hearing that "oh its hype." Or "its an underdog story"... like, no. I don't care. I legitimately do not give a fuck. But once you tell me that it has amazing character writing and character drama I'll tune in quickly. And so, I learned that its not always the show at fault. It's the ones who couldn't properly express why something is great and worthy of time (meaning, it's not the point that's bad. The one arguing it is.) Wish me luck. I'm going to drag my friend into Haikyuu hell too. 😂
Bro this show is so good, the only reason I watched it is because of the video and your discord combined. Thanks for all of the help onimaru, your a real homie.
Bro same, I've slept on this anime for so long I left a shadow. I'm currently up to the new season of Haikyuu!! but I've been so busy with work it's complicated :( Haikyuu!! was the anime that actually got me back into watching anime, I wasn't very active before so when I gave this a watch I was hooked. It reminded me of my days in my Karate Dojo during my high school years, lol I sound old as heck now XD But seriously this anime reminded me what it felt like to work hard towards a goal and just the pure passion to continue it. I used to think I had to become the strongest by myself but learned the people around me were not against me but with me. We were learning and helping each other along the way of our own journey, I felt like I had a real solid community to lean on. And yes I did cry watching all 3 seasons of Haikyuu!!! because of that.
My physco anime friend got me addicted to anime and then she was all like you have to watch this for atleast 5 months then I started watching it by the end of the week I was season 2
ah, I hoped this was actually why you stopped recommending it. I agree with the thing that it's important to set limitations etc. but tbh after I watched season 1 and some episodes of season 2, I stopped watching. My friend wanted me to watch it and every episode I had to drag myself to watch it... I think it's partly because of it's comedy, which I didn't get into at all. Another point for me was that these characters felt not real, they weren't believeable for me. Anyone else sharing the same feelings?

I've never been so invested in volleyball in my life.

I watched it when it was airing and holy shit did it give me a reason to make it through the week. Just like the newest season is doing now!
Bro this show is so good, the only reason I watched it is because of the video and your discord combined. Thanks for all of the help onimaru, your a real homie.
4 months later I'm still wondering why this video only has 3.8k views...

I love the way you make your scripts like bruh, this seems like an essay. Now I feel like I want to talk about Haikyuu in my English essay.
"Could a anime about volleyball really be that amazing." Thats legit exactly what i said before watching it...
My physco anime friend got me addicted to anime and then she was all like you have to watch this for atleast 5 months then I started watching it by the end of the week I was season 2
