Toby probably didn’t care much! Toby was a man that had his priorities right! He was inducted into the Oklahoma HOF and Song Writers HOF before he fell deathly ill and had life-long friends and fans. He knew himself and his God-given talents well! Everyone knew he was extremely almost terminally ill! They could have told the family a week or so before! Toby will always be one of the top ten G.O.A.T.’s in country music realms so receiving another award really doesn’t make the man anymore popular!

Toby was a humble man. He wasn't about the awards or the achievements but proud to get them anyways. For toby, it was more about the music and having a grand time on stage. As a long time T.K fan, I'm happy that he's being inducted but, will always be happy to have his music to listen to. I'm proud that I got to see him live when I did. Rest in peace cowboy, know we miss you. Thank you for all the enjoyable music you left us with.

In my heart Toby Keith was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame the moment he stepped onto the world stage. And more specifically, the first time I heard his song, "HOW DO YOU LIKE ME NOW?" and watched his RUclips video singing it and performing to it. It was love at first sight. No, not romantic love. Much deeper than that. I never looked back. I couldn't get enough. Why the Country Music Hall of Fame would wait so long to induct a country music icon, writer of over 5,000 songs and legend beats the hell out of me. There has never been anyone in Country Music like Toby Keith and there never will be again. Shame on the Country Music Hall of Fame for dropping the ball on this one. Though, from hearing Toby's interviews and acceptance speeches through the years I don't think he much cared about this award. He said winning the Country Music Icon, The Country Music Song Writers and the Oklahoma Song Writer's Award were what mattered the most to him. God Bless you Toby Keith. Gone too soon but never to be forgotten in my heart. Rest In Peace, Cowboy. You've more than earned it.

It really is sad that Toby didn't know before he passed but I remember an interview where he said being inducted into the "Writers Hall of Fame" was the big one and that's a big deal to be inducted into. Toby should have been inducted a long time ago. He is so deserving of this award. I always loved Toby and his music but when he went and sang to our troops on several occasions. I don't even know how many times. He truly won me over. I'm the mom of 3 American Soldiers. So to me he was singing to my boys. Rest in peace Toby. No more pain. You definitely left us country music fans better off. As well as our country.

Toby knew. He talked about it in one of his last interviews and joked that you only get in once you're dead. He was making a statement that they waited until they knew he wasn't going to be around yet others who hadn't had a career as long and successful as his already got in. The rock hall also let's people in who don't deserve to be and leave out the best of rock from the best eras of rock. It's political, it's favouritism by the heads of the halls.

First & foremost, I’m devastated that we, the world lost Toby Keith. I’m very sad that he didn’t know! He is so deserving of this award!! When they found out that there was even a possibility, whatever it is they do for the final selections, should have been done at a faster rate. knowing that Toby was terminally ill with stomach cancer & he held on & worked so much longer than I ever expected, why then, didn’t they know the rate of urgency?
Here’s the thing, this man was so deserving of this award and somewhere deep down he knew it too, he had to have known just how wonderful, beloved and revered he was. I know if I had done as much for Country Music as Toby Keith has, I’d wonder, especially being terminally ill, what more should I have done to win this prestigious award. He surely wasn’t winning it because he was terminally ill, no he was winning this award because of all his attributes he’d brought to Country Music. Toby Keith deserved to win this award on his own merits!!

I’d bet Toby was more concerned about his family and battling to stay alive than some award or induction that literally means nothing to him now. When you’re about to die, cars, houses, money, awards, accomplishments or job titles do not matter. You want time with those you love.
Country Music should be ashamed of themselves, this is how trey treated him when he was here in Nashville trying to make it. Its why he left. The producers wanted him to be a mullet wearing pop rock act....he wanted to be country,that is why they would not release his 7 best early on songs. Country Music needs to clean house of these executives they way we need to clean house in Washington. They are trying to give a middle finger to Toby Keith at the end of his life because he told them he did not need them and to go pound sand. That is the clean version
