Mr Coldharbour yeah best alien movie ever but I always wondered when graham used the knife he didn’t see a reflection so why did he go back to the pantry to use the knife again any thoughts?
One of the best horror movies in my opinion. Even the screen where you press play is so eerie and creepy. I love it. Right now i have the chills from watching the trailer!
I purchased this DVD seven years ago just for one of my childhood memories. Since I’m living alone, and it has still been kept in the drawer & has never been opened. It is just too frightened to watch. 👽🛸🙈
I think it's called the uncanny valley. It's basically because the idea of something that resembles us but is not part of our species triggers out fight or flight mechanism. Prolly as a consequence of evolution and fighting between primitive humans and neanderthals
It's because it displays intelligence... Or sinister intention. An animal with big teeth on all fours will only attack for two reasons - To eat you to survive, or to attack you in self defense... To survive. It's pretty much always that way in the natural world. Think of even a big lion - If it's completely full and isn't hungry, and you're not threatening it, it probably won't be interested in you. Same with a shark. Sure, they're big and can easily kill a human. But if it isn't hungry and you're not seen as a threat, it probably doesn't care that you even exist. But an alien on the other hand. It's not hungry, and you're not threatening it. But it's still coming for you. For what reason? It goes against nature, and that might be why we fear it. We don't know what its intention may be.
The entire movie was perfectly acted (barring the kids, who are excused of course, yet even they showed up!). Great writing, characters, and execution.
What makes this movie exceptional and special is that, at the same time, while watching the film, we feel creepiness but also warmth. The creepiness is caused by the whole situation with the crops and the aliens, which, unlike the aliens in other films, are extremely mysterious throughout the film until the final act, and the warmth we get while watching the family relationships, especially the way the brother treats his little sister . I don't know of any previous film that contains all that. If I'm wrong, tell me. Anyway, the film is a masterpiece and, as far as I can tell, it was made using minimal financial resources.
Perhaps the poltergeist. The movie has a lot of soul, and a real terrifying theme of a little helpless child being taken from her mommy and daddy. Especially when she runs through Diane and Diane can smell her, and when Steven is trying to revive Carol Ann and Diane in the bath tub.
So much nostalgia. My mom took my siblings and I to see this movie when it came out. This one and the ring (2002) were the scariest movie I've ever seen.

How WotW aliens crushed the human race and our technology, but were defeated by mother Nature. Filmed largely in the area where I live and/or locations with which I'm pretty familiar. Signs (2002) went before the cameras twenty years ago in the summer of 2001. Twenty years ago, enough to make me feel ancient now. My girlfriend (later my fiancée) had a good story from ingratiating herself right onto the front line (barricades for the night shoot prevented her from going any further) of production on the night the crew was filming the scene inside the Army Recruiting Office on State Street in Newtown, Pennsylvania. After the night's shooting had wrapped my girlfriend almost literally bumped into Joaquin Phoenix, completely unaware of who she was speaking to, and she asked the actor, "Is there anyone famous here?" True story and she stuck to it until she passed away from complications of cancer surgery in 2016.

This one is the only one that ends with Mel in the cornfield all by himself. It makes it creepier than the other trailers. At least in the official trailer he's home safe with his bro and kids almost defending the house from an alien attack

That scream at 2:22. Whoa!
This movie scared the crap out of me the whole time I watched it! Such a great movie!
I was 12 year old ( I'm now 33) I remember my mother taken me to cinema and it was when the dog was barking at bow someone at cinema open the door to go to toilet I'd assume, behind my seat the door slammed shut, I can only tell u with words... that I had my first out of body experience to this day I still fear that scene lol
In 2000s i watched this movie and it was so new and fresh.... Now this movie looks very old!!!
I went to the movie theater not knowing anything about the movie nor knowing anything about the direct
I came out with a core memory of a life-long fear of aliens and a new favorite director
This trailer make me feel scared again like back when I seen it as a kid. Lol
I loved this movie as a kid! Ah, the nostalgia! xD
I liked this movie. The cast is good, the story is good & so is the acting. The kids did a mighty fine job.
I turned into an atheist after we lost my best friend's brother. So I could relate with Rev. Graham here. Definitely worth watching once.

Withouth gibson and phoenix its a good movie but with them is a master piece, the level of acting is really amazing...
This is my all time favorite childhood movie. I would watch this almost everyday after school in kindergarten and at least a dozen times a year after that lol
Such a classic! Explains my alien obsessed self as an adult now 🤣
This movie brings back great memoirs of the spoof in Scary Movie 3
I am proud because my State Karnataka capital city Bangalore (now called Bengaluru) name mentioned there 🙏💛❤️
