Babe wake up, he’s wearing a hat!
lmao!
Its crazy being his doppelgänger
“How do you do, fellow kids?”
Big 90s kid vibes. Someone get him some Dunkaroos and an ice cold Slimer Hi-C.
I read this during the intro, busted up laughing when the footage started
As a side tip for ship stealing there's a trigger that if you kill the last person outside a ship the ship will automatically fly off. It'll even do this if you killed everyone on board first and still clear out the remaining faction outside (I tested this). What's actually good to know here is if you come across a ship that's a class higher than you can fly you can ostensibly hold it hostage with this mechanic. Kill all crew on board and at least leave one enemy alive outside and whenever you come back that ship will still be there for you when you rank up/bring Sam Coe along with you (I've tested this as well).
I’m reading this as a player has played this game yet, waiting for it to download. So are you saying that if I kill everybody on the ship , then I can go back to the ship, take the appropriate steps and then take control?
@@WannabeTroutAngler_PNW yeah, for the first higher class ship I found I left one enemy still alive though outside the ship as for me the moment I killed him the ship flew off. I've been back since and the ship is still there, but haven''t picked it up as I've yet to kill enough ships for the perk upgrade.
I will say for me Sam Coe being along did not let me sit in the seat early, and so Paul was wrong about that. Also something to be mindful of is certain enemy ships will launch into space the moment you board them, and so I'd suggest making a save before doing so because if it's a ship you can't fly you're likely stuck there then.
Has anyone tested what happens if you kill the last enemy outside while you are on the ship ie. on the ramp portion of the ship.
I did this thinking the people in the ship would get scare and yeet away 😂. The ship will also take off even if you kill everyone inside, the good thing is that if you go to orbit the ship also stays in orbit since there’s no one to pilot it pretty cool find i did by accident.
Yes, and you leave at least one enemy outside and leave, that mofo will jump into ship and fly off. What happened to me that i found that ship drifting outside planet with all crew i killed before and 'last survivor' was dead too floating on the pilot chair for some reason. It was kinda interesting to see
“I’m not even a pirate, I just steal ships” -Paul Tassi
He steals from the stealers
"Hey, what planet are you from, horse thief?"
Havent seen many people talk about this, but if you do the small ship designing quest for Walter stroud you can get a really good/big class C ship with 3400 cargo for free. Probably the best free ship I've came across so far at 60hrs in.
For a better "first ship" there is the Mantis quest. I highly recommend do that. The ship is very good and so is the armor you get with it.
Yeah less time too since it is one quest instead of a whole faction quest line.
I recommend doing the Freespace Ranger quest line in Akila city as well, it will reward you at the end with the Star Eagle with a lot of ship level 4 modules and plenty of cargo capacity for all us hoarders.
Also found a nice A class ship on Jamison while scanning i found an an abandoned facility with a nice ship parked near by walked on it to be greeted by a bunch of level 14-16’s cleared them out and claimed my new ship 🤙🏽
While I enjoyed the whole Mantis Lair and the good loot I got from it, the ship itself was very underwhelming. I was already flying a way better one.
save before taking the armor if you wanna get rerolls on the effects of it
Something I wish I knew earlier. If you go into binding settings in the options and keybind something to the jump Alt key, i use L-Alt.
it will jet pack you forward instead of upwards allowing you to cover a lot of ground, especially planets with low gravity. Doing this will make Skip Packs a lot more useful since it sends you flying forward with Alt Jump.
I'm glad you can change your name, when I was in character creation I tried to name my dude "Cook", and the game wouldn't let me for some reason. I thought it was getting caught on a profanity filter, so I tried naming him "Dickhead", only for the game to immediately accept that and boot me out of character creation, leaving me stuck with Dickhead, Savior of the Galaxy
For contraband, there is one star system (so far) that allows you to fly in without being scanned and still sell it. Look for the Wolf star system just north east of Alpha Centauri and head to The Den space station. Once inside, you’ll find a Trade Authority kiosk just off to the left that will buy up all that illegal loot. If they don’t have enough cash on hand to buy it all in one go, just go to sleep for 48 hours and then you can sell another batch of goodies. Props to True Vanguard for finding this and posting the video that led me to using it ❤ No small shielded cargo bins nor jail for me!
I run over incumberd constantly it doesn't really make much of a difference especially with the personal atmosphere and grab every weapon and piece of armor. Buy .45 pistol ammo, sniper ammo, exposive ammo and any aids you need then sell armor and weapons ive made and save tons of credits this way
Picking up guns will add a small amount of that guns ammo type to your inventory. So you can pick up then drop enemy guns for extra bullets.
Another decent ship you can get for free is called “Razorleaf”.
You get it at the end of the Mantis quest that starts when you read a note that can drop from literally ANY spacer.
UC vanguard mission quest chains are really good and award you with 2 legendary weapons and a legendary armor set.. just a heads up for anyone who want some good early legendary or wait until later to get them depending.
Hey Paul , I used to watch you alot for destiny. I kinda dropped thay awhile back. I'm a ps player, bought on xbox about 6 months ago specifically for starfield. Best decision I've ever made. I love this game !!!!
9:57 I want to *STRESS* that fast traveling this way can be easy, as in not even having to go into your ship OR not having to go into the system and just automatically "WARP" on the planet etc is the best way to *NOT* run into the many great random encounters and sometimes hit those hard to find "limited chances" at special missions etc.
Like every other Bethesda "RPG" before it, they always LOVE to stick in some horror elements or Cosmic/Eldritch Horror stuff and you can miss these without a doubt by doing this.
The Frontier is a terrible ship, but that FX model that Adam Savage and crew built from the Bethesda digital design is amazing. Holy shit.
Do the Freespace ranger quests as early as you can, you get a great ship at the end that can carry you into late game.
One you complete the main quest line if you decide to do another replay you can use new game plus and start the game with a Starborn ship.
"Bethesda games have never been about their mobility"
My Oblivion character: casually hopping over buildings
My morrowind character: literally flying
I like how you didn't have gameplay in the video. It's like I heard everything you said way better.😊
Paul how to level Fitness fast. 1 Be over encumbered 2 Be near a bed 3 Sprint till your CO2 fills up and you lose health 4 Sleep, get back health and O2 5 Repeat
Single-handedly changed my entire game play experience. Thank you so much!
One thing i cant decide on is to continue playing casually or risking my morgan romance and progress for new game plus+ save 🙃
Wait a damn minute!
Has baby Yoda been there the whole time?
u can lvl your oxygen and carrying strength at the same time, running while over encumbered. having at least two of both has helped get me around a lot easier.
The Crimson Fleet quest for Kryx's Legacy is also an amazingly good and fun questline for getting a ton of credits, a couple powerful weapons, and some experimental ship modules. I stumbled upon it fairly early in my playthrough (around level 12ish, I think) and it set me up for building a very powerful ship from scratch with about a 100k credits left over.
nothing i like more than a long paul video
Need ships? Go to the MASTbuilding and use their simulator....those kills count!
I had to buy ammo. Seemed like the weapons I had never had ammo otherwise no matter how much ammo I picked up
Bro Tassi has a lot of good Starfield tips.
Neat trick. In some ports, after you get arrested, poke around the guard station. There's a good chance you can find the stolen and contraband caches and reclaim them. Just don't get caught picking them up.
My biggest question is companion perks. I haven't put any perk points yet into ship building but the one companion you can get, he's the one that gives you the frontier at the beginning has 4 stars I think in shipbuilding but doesn't seem like I can take advantage of this perk
Barret has 4 stars in ship engineering. He repairs your ship faster when he's on board basically.
this was a fantastic video thats helped me greatly.
if i can make a request or suggestion for future content regarding starfield :)
these videos that you give your thoughts and explain your reasoning and thought process provides interesting insights from an experienced player.
if you ever have some thoughts it would be good just sharing it with the camera as im sure alot of people would enjoy it myself included
thanks
I ran into full inventory because I accidentally picked-up the ship repair stuff (70 mass) from cargo hold at first mission and checked everything but Aid tab because why would health and food be heavy!
That animated intro was amazing!
There is out of combat health regen available on the backpacks as a mod. Just FYI the perk is not the only method. It’s slow but it works/helps.
I took out 4 pirate ships with the frontier my first time in space but it was so sketchy and I took a lot of damage. ☘️☘️
Needed to hear all this. Restarting my playthrough tomorrow lol
I will say Pauls advice on the ship stuff, in regards to the frontier & the free one you get from freestar is MOSTLY solid. But with that being said...I actually put in like 30-40 hours & won tons of dog fights in the frontier...before seeing Pauls tip on the free ship. Frontier is def not like GOOD...but it's not impossible or horrible. The other one that kinda made me laugh a bit was that when I got the free one from the deputy runs...I actually DID take that one all the way into endgame. Held up just fine with some work put into it.
Just to be clear, his advice on stealing better ships is ABSOLUTELY the best way to go. But I just don't think it should be framed in a way that makes it seem like you can't play through the entire game simply running A class ships. Bc that's exactly what I did on my 1st playthrough. & I wasn't exactly struggling for most of that run. But I understand that my experience is nothing more than my experience. It is very interesting though hearing different takes on the ship stuff though, lol.
Also "I'm not even really a pirate. I'm just a person who steals ships." Paul in serious denial about this.
This is one of the most useful and informative tip vids. Too bad YT will only push it to us Destiny plebs. Hopefully more people find it
Good vid, happy to see your #1 tip as it’s also the first thing I say to friends. Looking fly with the hat 😉
The Jetpack is what allowed me to kill the first teramorph at level two. Mobility is useful.
I don't know when I'll get around to playing Stratfield but I'm going to pre-load these 20 tips in advance
When you do start it's impossible to stop. You been warned
Wanted perk can be a tough starting trait if playing on higher difficulty then normal until you get a better ship
I did this perk and first few hours it was tough in space when bounty hunters would come after me
I would recommend getting arrested! For me, it lead into a huge quest line with some incredible loot.
Lol this is going to turn into I wish I watched someone play the game before I started
Been playing for like 48hrs and I'm level 24 or something. Appreciate the video for some tips I have been wondering about. Inventory is so overwhelming and hard to decide what to pick up. I do mostly ammo now too.
Thank you for all the videos and tips you’re giving on Twitter for Starfield, you’ve helped me so much on my playthrough because apparently I don’t understand Bethesda games😂 but thank you very much it’s helps a lot
How do I find where I set my outposts? I don't remember and didn't write it down
Thanks man, good stuff!
Regarding the Oxygen perk and what he says at about 16:40 - - it truly is a grind to rank up that skill because you have to deplete your oxygen to zero AND then build CO2 (the red meter) all the way up until you start to lose health, AND then rest to restore Oxygen before you can do it again. Repeat 50x or 100x. It helps to know that more weight will deplete oxygen faster, so when you are returning to you ship with a ton of loot, you will delete oxygen very quickly. So be sure to fill the red meter to 100% then slow down to completely restore the white meter rather than sprinting a little and crawling a little.
Honestly one the best traits is having parents the give you a ship and a pretty good pistol and space suit
Very helpful. Thanks
Someone did a great video that even at lvl 10 or under with about 11k or so, you could edit the frontier into a major fighting force that so far has carried me to lvl 20. But based on this video, I will be finishing the Rangers quest next for that ship 👍🏻
The power personal atmosphere instantly refills your o2 could make it easier to level the skill
You're not wrong about rushing the main quest line. It's the most boring set of quests in the game imo so unless you just wanted to start your real run in new game plus the rush method is going to disappoint most people I imagine.
Are we sure that the companion skills stack additively? e.g. 2+2=4? or if it just picks the highest skill e.g. i have 1 and companion has 3. i now have 3
This is awesome. I’ve been referencing this while going through my play through. Anyone care to put time stamps? 😊
Love the game so far!
Free star Ranger quest early on. Star Eagle rocks. Big cargo and EM weapons.
The Trade authority at the Den space station in orbit of a planet in the Wolf system is the best place I've found to sell contraband.
For leveling fitness, there is an issue where people aren't getting progress on planets if they have the Spaced trait (I assume the opposite is true for those with Terra Firma trait). If you have the Spaced trait and cannot get your Fitness challenge to progress, go to your ship and launch to orbit. Get yourself as overencumbered as possible (to make this go faster). Once you are in orbit, get out of the pilot seat and go back to a bed/bunk on your ship. Sprint at the bunk until you max out the CO2 bar. Activate the bunk and rest for 1 hour, this will refill your O2 bar. Rinse and repeat. I think it took me 30-60" of this in order to max out fitness to level 4.
I would get all those companion’s buffs on my ship but they keep trying to engage me in conversation. Is there any way I can lock them in a closet or something?
Cool thanks!
You can upgrade the Fronter by removing the BAL cannon anf upgrade the LAS to Electron Beam Laser.
There is a video on how to upgrade the starter ship.
Regarding the ship skills you mentioned, can't you just get a companion who has these skills?
Star eagle carries all the way to endgame.
Only a fully built fully upgraded class C ship is better. But at that point you built prett much a supership thats vastly more expensive than anything else. Even strongest starboen ships are peanuts compared to it.
i’ve gotten so stuck trying to do ship fights in the foreigner i thought i was just bad. ran out of ship parts and was getting merced every 3” secs will update if i went god mode after these tips.
paul “pretend this is still a cool hat” tassi
BEST SHIP "STAR EAGLE" JUST ADD BEST GRAV DRIVE, AND THEN U CAN HAVE 8000+ CARGO SPACE🤯
Do you have to do the New Game plus? Can you start a new game as completely fresh?
lol. love the intro, first time ive come across your channel.
It's so funny that you mention buffing the Frontier, because there's a story mission that I had to complete by changing the difficulty to Easy just so I wouldn't get destroyed by the NPC ships.
Also, something odd that I noticed is that when your ship systems are damaged, you are are able to idle and let them repair but when you travel to another location in the system, it's implied that your ship just flies there but your systems aren't repaired during that implied travel time.
You get a free ship with the Kid’s Stuff trait. 800 cargo space.
I wish I knew that you can't add mods on console yet 😞. The weight issue is REAL and it's terrible.
you don't need mods for the weight. Just us the console command.
Rank up your Weight lifting, and get some 300mass cargo holds on your ship. 1k is plenty. Build an outpost for unlimited storage.
In the lodge they also have an infinite weight safe in your room. I just ferry all my stuff back there after my ship fills and off to collect more!
Just make some storage at an outpost bro! You can make ones that allow your stuff to be accessible from anywhere in the galaxy
I like this channel...subed. I bet you name some of your characters Potassium😊
Man, I like to imagine all of the people who left their space ships unlocked and PT jus stole them...like did they all come back ,"no, I SWEAR I left it right here. RIGHT HERE." Pour out one for the homies that gave PT his sweet ships.
Do you have to join the free star collective to do the mission that gets you the Eagle? Also if you do join are you stuck with that faction?
Nah you’re not stuck to factions
I hit a game breaking bug that has locked the Crimson Fleet AND UC quest lines. I meant to board a ship at the spaceport in New Atlantis. Unfortunately two ships occupy the same parking spot and one is phased halfway into the ground. It’s a clipping nightmare. Unless I can find a way to no clip into the ship I need to be in I’m gonna mainline NG+ in hopes I can try the quest line again.
Quest is called ‘Best There Is’ and I’m meant to board the ‘Jade (something)’.
Cool kid Tassi with the backwards hat, what's cracking fellow gamers 😂
If you are encumbered your o2 & co2 will drain quicker
Thanks 😊🎉
Contraband, drop it on the floor of your ship then leave, from the planet/station fast travel to anywhere with a Trade Authority, pick up the loot from your ships floor and go drop it off at the TA.
If you're going to a city like New Atlantis it won't allow you to fast travel directly like this, the option will stay greyed out, and so it'll have to be a location like The Den or such that doesn't have a patrol that'll scan you.
@@MonsieurAuContraire except it does allow you to fast travel as long as you are not in the ship with the free floating contraband, just be sure to fast travel directly to the planets surface and not into orbit. Next time I have some I'll stick OBS on and record the whole process.
With a reverse cap ai thought this was you coming out as a ‘giants are real and smithsonian are covering it up’ guy.
Paul looks like he'll beat me up at the skatepark when I dont give him my juicebox
My play through is completely scuffed. I’m going to restart I think.
When is a good time to explore?
I'm interested to know what you're playing this on. It's basically unplayable for me and I have a mid range PC. I don't understand how people are ok with its performance.
I am playing at 1080p with a 12600k and a 6750 XT. 32 MB DDR5 Ram. I’m not even overclocking and I get a perfectly stable game. It has gone as high as 136 FPS but is generally 60-65 FPS. High setting optimized with AMD adrenaline. Not a single stutter and it looks fine.
I literally have done everything so far with the Frontier and don't think it's to bad. I take out hords of stuff with it all the time. I've only upgraded the guns. I got the Mantis ship and it didn't hit as hard. It only moved a little faster is all.
Have you started the UC Vanguard quest chains yet? There absolutely fantastic and you get some great legendary loot too.
If you do the Freespace Ranger quest line in Akila you will get the Star Eagle at the end, an amazing ship with level 4 modules and 2k plus cargo capacity. Its classed as A as well so you can fly it at start. Bonus is one of weapons is an EM weapon which makes is easier to disable enemy ship systems.
For the animal xp farm. set the game on max dificulty. land on planet so the animals spawn and then set the dificulty to easy.
Star eagle ship is so cool. Is there actually a better ship you can buy?
The Narwhal (on neon)
dope intro fam
Just upgrade the weapons and shields on the starter so. I'm taking out class C
I stole some ships on Mars from those serpent dudes almost right from the start. Sold one kept the other it's a pretty powerful ship compared to the starter
Paul hatsi
feels like paul in a hat would shove me into a locker
Someone never took flying pants for a spin in Morrowind.
It’s Tassi Time
The scanner waypoint path is a huge L.
Several times now I've had it show a path which simply stops in the middle of a walkway - in the open areas of cities or inside bases.
Worse than useless, it actively wastes your time.
Take contraband to The Den space station. The Trade Authority is there. Perfect spot to offload anything
You are going to sleep in bed every 24 minutes, or every time you exit your ship simply because of the 10% or 15%xp buff (if you are married and partner is with you).
Isn't Mass Effect Andromeda, the only ME with a jetpack?
