“crew mate of mine; MIA. Hope she’s okay” had me dying laughing
“God rest her soul, wherever she is.” Andy kills me.
lol she's still gone i'm worried
Was listening while driving... I had to pull over
@@TheAndyCortezlate to the party here, but have u checked ur crew menu? Its hidden behind the ship menu. Sometimes they get "unassigned" and they go back to the location u first found them. Assign them to ur ship and they will be back.
Love Parris, in addition to being a great, knowledgeable and fair reviewer he seems like a really sweet and great guy as well
That and he's jacked. Lol.
Lol, bots fall in love with someone that loves there game
*Their
genius@@MAR-jq7co
He’s a great lover too. Really gives his best in the bedroom ❤
He’s the only one on this panel I actually like
Man, what a rollercoaster. I went from being bummed by Blessing’s impressions to being excited again by Greg and Andy’s impressions. Really seems like a “what you make of it” kinda game!
Todd said "the more you give to Starfield, the more it gives back from you"
Blessing was nitpicking A LOT.
@@Suflanker That is all he ever does is nitpick.
every point he made was valid didn't seem like nitpicking at all@@Suflanker
He called out some valid criticisms for a 2023 game @@Suflanker
I absolutely love that Kinda Funny presents their reviews this way. I love hearing the full thoughts and opinions in a comprehensive long form video. Great job you beautiful bugs!
Yes! It's a great format, all the different opinions make it very informative, interesting and funny. Definitely something unique to the typical stale review format from other places.
They didn't switch to this because it's the best way, they do it this way because it's easy and they don't have to edit.
@@SatanicBoomBoomHead Other websites often do podcast like this. I suggest you check those podcast too if you wanna be more in depth with their opinions. A good example is IGN. I know everyone loves to jump on IGN for their reviews, but many of them don't realize they have podcasts where they have discussions like this. And that's the best way to really digest opinions of the games outside reviews.
Agreed, this format is great and this discussion has been awesome
Do you have the game yourself? If so why does it matter how they review it ?
The best part about this is the varying opinions that make you look forward to the game but also temper some expectations
This is such a smart way to do game reviews. I love the panel approach. It really serves a game like this well. Keep it up Kinda Funny!
It also makes it KFs review officially rather than just one persons and labeling it the KF review.
Bring Parris on the show more often, he's great!
@@KingJohnMichaelhow so
Yeah how?
@@KingJohnMichaelwouldn't he have given this game a full 5/5 if that were true?
Yea I don't watch the Xbox stuff so I don't get to see/hear him. Get him on these shows!

LOVE having Parris in studio!
Parris is such an amazing speaker. Also, you guys need to get Parris in studio more often - great chemistry!
One of the best review discussions ever on KF. Great job!
Bless was just nitpicking with a lot of stuff
Parris should get the chance to lead more reviews this was great. Great input from everyone all around
Looking forward to Gary, Parris and Mike talking more Starfield on Xcast
Blessing had some valid criticisms for sure but from what I'm hearing from other reviewers, 40 hours of playtime is just not enough to go on to give a full retrospective of the game. This game is deep as you want to make it
Ths is peak review content. Everyone clearly and passionately articulating their thoughts, raising great points, bringing different but equally valid perspectives across a whole spectrum of opinion. 10/10 review, would consume again
This has been one of the best Gamescast episodes in a long time, great work gentlemen!
Very excited to start this game tonight. Since I started school I've had a lot less time to play games, and I decided to let Starfield be the game I play and dive deep into. I'd rather play 1 game than not finish a ton of games.
So, hearing you get what you put into it has me excited!
Basically, the way they felt about the game is. There's some good, theres bad, and if you're into Bethesda games, you'll probably like it. But if you're neutral, you'll probably be a little frustrated with some aspects about it like the controls, map, loading screens ect. It's up to the individual. Overall, the hype might have been a little overboard, but it's still good
wow a reasonable take in this day and age 👍 glad to see not everyone has lost their minds
Exactly. After watching a few other reviews, starfield seems like another Bethesda game. Bethesda games are awesome, but personally, it looks like I was expecting more. It will be another awesome Bethesda game but personally I will stick to baldurs gate 3 for now.
This comment should be pinned lmao, absolutely nailed it.
It'll be for alot of people, but not for others. If you've played a Bethesda RPG before, chances are you know which side you're on. Nothing wrong with any of this, but some people let the hype run away with them a bit.
I have no issue with that comment of if you don’t like Bethesda games then it’s maybe not for you. I am saying within the gaming community they don’t keep that same energy for Zelda or from software. If you aren’t into those games then they are not 10’s and you won’t put 80+ hours into them. But no one ever says that about their games, they are generally praised
Same could be said for something like BG3, Elden Ring, or Zelda. If you like those types of genres these games are in, you will love these titles. But for those who aren't into niche CRPGs and D&D with BG3 for instance, you will probably find the challenging combat frustrating and it will probably not be for you.
It's a bit strange how you phrased your comment to make it appear as if the game is just ok when in reality it depends on the taste. Again, if you are not into the particular niche a game cover, you will often not enjoy the game. This applies to Starfield and basically every other game.
Awesome roundtable review with a great range of opinions! Definitely one of my favorite Gamescast reviews yet.
Blessing hated the game so much he forgot the name of the home city... 🙄
Honestly this has been one of my favorite reviews. Often times everyone has the same score and their points tend to overlap. Hearing a wide range of scores with statements that everyone agrees on but weigh differently person to person is intriguing. I can’t wait to see if this game is a 2/5 or 5/5 for me personally
4/10 would be wild lmfaooooo
I don't think anyone on the Kinda Funny cast gave the game a 2/5 lol
Baldur's Gate 3 is going to ruin RPG discussion the same way BOTW ruined open world action adventure discussion, every single game in the genre is going to be compared to it even if they're trying to achieve wildly different things
Tears of the Kingdom already proved BOTW was extremely overated
@@jimmyjay689 I think they're both extremely overrated, but that's just me.
Sure, they're great games, but they don't deserve to be two of the highest rated games of all time, but that's the Nintendo bump for you
Regarding tutorials. Every game should have a menu accessible in the pause menu. You click on this and can read about every mechanic in the game with images to assist thr explanation
When Gregg said it was a 3/5 looks, for a sec I forgot he played it on console cause on PC it’s stunning
I really, really love this review style. I never come to Kinda Funny for reviews because, for the longest time, they didn't review. If the reviews have been like this, I've been missing out. Count me in.
Also, I know it's a long flight for Parris, but please make it happen more often if you can. Loved having him on there.
Their "in review" series is really enjoyable for film reviews. They've reviewed almost every franchise out there, it's really enjoyable.
I've been super excited for this review. We appreciate your work and honesty!
Bless really seems more like a 2/5 then a 3. Paris is who I needed to hear from though. Happy he enjoyed it
Parris is a beautiful asset to the kinda funny discussions, more please!
Xcast mate
Because he's an abject xbox fanboy
The biggest quality of life improvement I want is city maps.
You can tell that Tim is loving every second of this! Great show fellas!
From everything discussed it feels like this game is so massive that they all had very different experiences. So many others haven’t even gotten close to finishing the side quests. Everyone reviewing this is primarily just finishing the main quest. Why isn’t everyone doing reviews in progress? Instead they’re just slapping scores on it. That’s what’s going to make the continued conversation around this game so fascinating. We aren’t even talking about the discoveries yet. Discovering this game as a community is going to be special. Excited for tonight!!
The set for this is dope af! Nice work!
" I feel like Malcolm Reynolds from Firefly" is the line that convinced me to try this game
I love Kinda Funny for their reviews. If I had just listened to Bless and Greg’s review I might have passed. But Parris and Andy made me excited.
20 hours in having a blast, it is what you make of it
They didn’t talk about how exploration doesn’t exist in the game. Or how the game is a loading screen simulator. Or the repetitive content or barren planets or any of that. Greg talks about roleplaying, but what roles can you play other than Constellation member? I’m somewhat disappointed in this review. Love Andy though :)
this is the great way to present the review, great job guys.
Love the open convo type of review style guys, appreciate you all
Was really looking forward to Parris’ review on this one. Awesome job!
Parris is the only main xbox guy that ive seen, that I can take seriously. Gives a good take every time
Awesome review!! Absolutely loved seeing Paris in studio:))). Sept 6th can’t come soon enough!!
This is exactly the reaction I expected from a Bethesda game. I’m happy that everybody found some enjoyment, but their games are usually polarizing even in the Bethesda fandom.
Somewhat excited to give it a go tomorrow, but I never expected this to be a 5/5 show stopper game. Hope we get a deeper dive into it down the road.
Thank you to everybody for the work that went into this, and appreciate you all ❤
3:28 - That background comet hits Parris *perfectly* in the head! XD
I wish more places did this panel style review of a bunch of people discussing the game in detail for an hour. Makes for very informative videos and really goes over everything in the game.
I bought my XSX for the Nov 2021 release date and know nearly 2 years later here we go. So pumped to make my Space Cowboy.
This set/production for this is something special. Jaw dropping.
I’m an audio listener but just had to tune in for this one. Great job Parris and co.!
Parris, Tim, Bless, Greg and Andy thanks for the review I seriously feel like going into the game with my expectations in a better place.
Honestly, the wide range of scores across the Internet had me mildly concerned. But having listened to the review, I'm more sold than I already was, which is saying something.
My favourite thing about Bethesda games is finding something I want to do, and RPing the shit out of it. I had 5 different Skyrim characters within the first 6 months because I wanted to try different things, and it was incredible. From this review, it sounds like I will end up having the same thing here. Can't wait for early access drop
Thank you for your service parris you got me so excited for this gaming experience and I honestly can’t wait to play starfield thank you KFF!
In FO4 if you connected a settlement to the trade network your stash was available at any connected settlement. Is there no such system in this game to offload some of the inventory problems?
Enjoying this show! Think this is probably the best review I have seen. Like how there is multiple takes from this one games. I have never played a Bethesda role-playing game and I’m a bit nervous if it will connect with me or not but after hearing this review I’m excited to hop in and see where this game takes me!
My biggest Starfield question:
In terms of recruitable ship members, do they have varying big personalities?
When I play this game, I want to build a crew of people I like on a personal level akin to something like One Piece and how Luffy recruits his crew. I don’t want to just fill slots on my ship because people fill certain roles.
Love the fact everyone has a different story. No game is like this space wise. BG3 is amazing but this is another one we can all enjoy.
well except if you only have a playstation
Andy!!! My hype started to say a bit hearing the QOL stuff you brought it back to 100.
Happy that it seems it is a good game. I’m basically trying to go with the same angle Andy is.
Great roundtable conversation! Love KF for this
Andy’s opinions kinda brought me back in into wanting this game.
His opinion is usually the only one I listen for
Agreed
I just commented how his opinions/tastes usually match mine. He plays and enjoys the same games as I do so im very excited to hop in.
100% I wasn't thrown all the way off but Andy brought me back for sure
I'm 30 minutes into this still waiting for him to speak
I wonder if Bless will hold Spiderman to the same BG3 litmus test
Guarantee he gives Spiderman a 5/5.
Of course he won't
He won’t, and you’ll see how hes magically able to over look nitpicks.
Yup. Seems like a great human being but as a reviewer, he has a real hard time not showing his ultra Playstation bias.
Even as far as on KFGD a few days back when talking about Starfield early access through GamePass for $32 (including future DLC)
"I dunno, $32 seems a lot for something that is free next week"...but he will proceed to pay full price for a 3rd party game on Playstation even if it is dropping into GamePass for free day one.
He is such a hypocrite.
This was an excellent review roundtable, and it was especially great to see Parris in-studio!
And I get the feeling that the universal biggest gripes ya'll & other reviewers seem to have with the game - clunky menus, convoluted inventory management, nondescript secondary NPCs, poor/confusing area maps, etc - will be corrected by the Bethesda modding community posthaste.
I can listen to Parris all day, i can even listen to him and review tetris and it still be good.
Paris needs to come to the studio more often
The energy in this room feels powerful
Great discussion from the panel. I enjoyed the different viewpoints and likes/dislikes. Really great to see/hear all the different perspectives!!!
Paris has me even more hyped for this game!
To Andy on your missing crewmate 😂. I just saw in a tips video if someone is MIA, goto your crew page and assign them to your ship and they'll turn up there.
A lot of things that Blessing and Parris noted that aren't quiet where they need to be have been addressed my mods on PC. I''m glad they mentioned them here. They both noted that PC is the best expierence but some of these areas need to be addressed for their console players. I'm sure those things will be addressed in future patches and everything will come together. Some of Bethesda's most beloved games started out this way but became great games with community feedback.
This is KFG Vol. 2, Episode 194 (Episode 446 overall)
such a fun review to listen to, excited to play the game!
Parris you missed a perfect pun at 5.35 , you should have said "its kinda funny" .... ha ha
Andy I appreciate your honesty towards Bethesda games.
Have Parris review more games the dude is a legend and even though he is on the Xcast he gave us an honest review, much respect!
Really excited for this game. Though honestly dreading the console warrior bs that’s going to follow for the next couple months.
Bethesda games have a different charm I don’t experience with a ton of other games. I have so many hours in fallout and Skyrim so if it’s anything like those I’m gonna be thrilled.
Excuses, excuses this is a big L for Xbox. Not the game of a generation as expected.
The problem is that it seems TOO much like those....Skyrim and Fallout old
@@mushypee1 Maybe gamers expect too much. Bethesda has always overhyped their games. If people don't realize that yet, and we're expecting something life changing, that's partially on them as well as Bethesda.
In what world is an 88 a big L?😂@@mushypee1
@@mushypee1how am I making excuses lmao. This is my personal opinion on the game, why would I care if anyone else likes it or not lmao
I love the way they all do there own reviews
"this is a nerdy ass RPG" -greg from kinda funny its why iam hyped!!! for starfield
I have a question if I put the difficulty on hard would that increase the chance of encounter legendary enemies.
I love this review guys, and I love everyone’s perspective. I’m soooo excited to play this game tonight, and I really appreciate Blessing’s technical and quality of life critiques, and Greg saying how fluctuating the experience has been, but I’m still excited to play and see for myself. Honestly it sounds like a BGS game 😂, and I’m here for it. Thanks for the heads up on what technical issues to expect!
Glad you all had mostly a great experience - with some caveats. The only comment I would add - based on what I've seen in the trailers, and in subsequent review videos is that the character design/animation seriously looks like 2013-grade results to me. I assume the game is better IRL, but every cutscene looks like I'm watching a Disney animatronic. Once again, I assume that the results are better in-game, but I don't understand why it's so poor quality in their PR (especially when they tried so hard to say how great the character-creation is).
Thanks to Parris was a good review especially for series s
I have not been this eager for something since Skyrim on 360 back in 2011!!
So blessing give it the same score as Sonic frontiers 😬 Can't wait to play this game!
On KFG and IGN I've only ever seen Parris on a screen! Always a great addition
Blessings review was crazy harsh especially after a relatively positive review from Parris. Gonna be interesting
PS-bias trying to compliment a 1P Microsoft title challenge: IMPOSSIBLE
His review seemed so unrealistic esp about side missions when it was said it’s gamey smh
Dude hosts their Playstation podcast. Of course he was gonna nitpick
That's why he shouldn't be reviewing Xbox games. I knew immediately weeks ago that he was going to use baldur's gate as the game that's going to be the game that makes him will it's not as good as this.
Blessings bias is disappointing at times and is the reason I stopped listening to KFGD..
Parris' thoughts made the most sense after now playing over 12 hours of the game. The game is great so far.
Blessing never played tears of the kingdom apparently based on that map and menu rant.
Gotta rewatch this whole thing to see if they mention that they put paris in the game as vladimir. So obviously him, even talks about working out and stuff
Omg the set look effing sick right now! Looks so cool.
Blessing “is this legal?“ (to Tetris Effect coming to Xbox) gives it a 3. Shocker.
Props to Paris for allowing Andy to finish his thoughts out
Agreed, v considerate. Greg on the other hand didn’t have much restraint, taking up a ton of space
This was a great discussion and a fair assessment. I love this style of review, it gives so much more insight and objectivity for anyone that's on the fence about a game.
Love the passion in them. Well 3 of them
*I'll be sure to check it out sometime in the future.*
So excited after hearing from each of you. Very stoked after hearing what Andy had to say because we seem to have the same taste based off his streams.
Haven’t gotten around to listening yet, but just curious if Parris mentioned if he tried it out on the Rog Ally?
He said he did not, because Bethesda specifically suggested NOT to play it on the ROG or Steamdeck
Love the review what’s the script with promoting struck work in the ads is that not scabbing?
Absolutely loving the game! Just streamed for 8 hours straight. Make sure you stick to the main storyline for the first few hours.
At 1:14:42 - I think Andy is thinking of Elite Dangerous. Which, by the way, on a HOTAS control system... Is fricking incredible!!!!
THATS THE ONE!!!!!!! i couldnt think of it lol thank u
@@TheAndyCortez I got you! Bro, my peek nerdiest moment was playing Elite Dangerous on an 120" Projector Screen with a split HOTAS I had attached to the arms of a big office chair. It was epic! I did that for about 6 months! 🤣🤦🏻♂️ Urgh... What a d**k! (I don't regret it at all! 👊🏻)
Blessing 3/5... ouch. Much much lower than the 87 average that the game is currently sitting at on Metacritc.
90-91 for pc
Sure, but not much different from the 7/10 from IGN and GameSpot either and a bit inflated by how they choose not to give review codes to quite a few outlets. In the long term, I don't think his opinion will be that rare a take.
That being said, I'll probably really like the game. Will try to stick to the curated main missions and side missions as much as possible though.
@@tylerisse5120nope already down to 88 😂
@idakev most reviews I've seen are high 80s only ign and GameSpot and 6 of the other ign outlets gave it 9-10
Wait till the rest of the industry gets all the reviews out it's gonna drop fast
Around what I was expecting. Picking up the early access, I'm excited.
