Really wanted the FE, but even though I got to the front of the queue, Nvidia's stupid login system wasn't working correctly, and after finally getting in and filling out their order forms, when I hit "review", it said there was nothing in my cart. Needed a card that was smaller in length (330m or less) and one that would be easy to slide a brace under, and that was pretty much the FE (304mm). The Ventus (322m) will fit, but because of the shape of the shroud, I'm going to have to actually put the brace near the top of the backplate, instead of the bottom of the card. @pituguli5816 it's actually called upscaling. The 7900xtx would need to upscale from 1080p, while the 4080 is 1440p/4k to 4k. One day, AMD will become more viable for this tech, and you will see what you've been missing out on. I can tell your post has some dissonance as you call it "puddle reflections" when it's light reflections on all surfaces creating realism and beauty that you cannot get from raster lighting.
@@ehenningsen No its downscaling, DLSS and FSR depending on the quality level reduce resolution this is how it achieves higher FPS. DLSS quality on a 4k panel is 1440p and 1440p is 1080p downscaled. How does it go up from down? I paid for a 2080Ti, 2070s, 3090 and 3070 and I still can't enjoy RT without horrible downscalers so don't even try to sell me on it. As I said maybe in 5 years it might be ready but as of now a 4090 can't even do it without downscaling resolution. All this RTX crap has done is make it hard for my friends to afford new cards and devs reliant on DLSS and FSR to actually get their games to a playable state. It might very well be the future but that future is not now. Playing Cyberpunk on my $3250 GPU at 1440p native was a terrible experience and even with DLSS quality I still got dips to 35FPS in some areas. We are years away from this being a viable choice for the majority of gamers. 7950x, 2x16gb CL32 6000mhz Ram and it was installed on a 2tb 980 Pro before you ask.
40 series prices do not make any sense so I decided to support the competition, no way Nvidia will ever change if people keep paying the green tax. Been pretty happy with my 7900XTX which cost 300-400 AUD less than 4080.
You smoking, the 7900xtx raster smoke on 4080 super almost everytime, and thats not even considering the 7900xtx nitro+. The only problem is the power consumption that can be addressed by undervolt and RT which is still a meme for meme people, even to those that spent 2000+ euro in that 4090 that struggle at 4k native with RT on in cyberpunk and new games. And the 7900xtx is cheaper, way cheaper than a 4080. Still both to much overpriced. I want try buy the 4080 super aorus master if price is reasonable or the 7900xtx nitro+, but doubt stupid sellers will make a reasonable price.
You say the FE uses maglev fans. Where did you get this info? I can’t find this and wherever there’s discussion it seems suspected that they’re double ball bearing fans.
Well, if I was reviewing the 4080 I would have shown charts of one of the basically 2 games which use hardware accelerated raytracing too. Its totally not like u pay a premium price for the 4080 which is essentially a 1440p card cause it has to use upscaling to use its own features properly. Yes it all depends on your location and the games u play. But considering a 1000+ bucks investment is a long term investment and "4k" gaming is already knocking on the door of the 16GB VRAM (additional texure packs already blow 16 gigs away apparently), where will the 16 gigs get u in 2 years from now? Nvidia already planned your next purchase ahead of time if u ask me.. Im not saying buy this over that, it all depends on the preferences and our time on earth is limited and valuable :) But actually taking 5 minutes and using the rational part of the brain instead of the emotional part when making a purchase decision might safe u from future disappointments.
Damn! That A$1499 4080 is out of stock already. I was ready to throw my money at Umart when I saw that.

US here. Not sure if I should go for a 4080S, have a 7900XTX. I should have just bought a 4090 earlier tbh.
40 series prices do not make any sense so I decided to support the competition, no way Nvidia will ever change if people keep paying the green tax.
Been pretty happy with my 7900XTX which cost 300-400 AUD less than 4080.
The 4080 smokes the 7900XTX in everything. You got ripped off.
@@Fheara_Nyakki100% correct
i ordered one, but i feel insecure over the price, coming from a 1080 and a 9900k . gonna see your perspective video and decide
UK MSRP cards are £959.99 (inc 20% VAT)
You say the FE uses maglev fans. Where did you get this info? I can’t find this and wherever there’s discussion it seems suspected that they’re double ball bearing fans.
i impulse bought the last TUF 4080 super at $999 USD MSRP lol, in Canada here, prices are ok but there's no stock at all
Well, if I was reviewing the 4080 I would have shown charts of one of the basically 2 games which use hardware accelerated raytracing too.
The best price I found in stock was $100 more. $1500 is a stretch for me right now but I'd have managed it somehow. $1600 is too much for too little.
I'll hold off and hope for better things from the 5000 series unless they drop to sub 1500.
Im looking how much of an improvement would there be from a 3070 to a 4070ti super or 4080 super. Nobody is comparing 30 series cards
finally a youtuber who takes aussie pricing into account, HUB just doesnt bother which annoys me
Huh? You must be deaf. Those guys mention the Aussie pricing in pretty much every video.
@@wvjeepguy8178I just looked at the transcript for HUB's 4080S review, no mention of Au pricing or any pricing but US. Please try to be more honest, only if you watch TechYesCIty would you know it's best to save hundreds and buy a 4080 instead for the same performance
No. It doesn't have enough Multipurpose spray applied.
So with a can of multipurpose thrown in it would be worth it you think?
@@techyescity And a haircut too.
And in Australia you are going to pay $400 more than a 7900xtx for worse rasterisation. Makes no sense at all.
Can't find them in stock. Some places have variants listed for 1500+
Idk why people whinnying about the card we all knew this was a regular 4080 just renamed and different color not bad for the price drop keep up the good work bro 👍
False. They removed one VRM to cripple power delivery and overclocking ..
Lol that 256bit memory bus though. On a 80 super 16gb card.
Wow! If that pricing is accurate outside of the U.S, then thats pretty messed up.
For price to performance I went with the RTX 4070 Super FE. It was in my price range and does the job. Joe
In Sweden 4080 Super is 1299 SEK compared to MSRP 1649 SEK for 4080. And stock was quite good as well. All Super series cards has been cheaper than its predecessor.
So how much cheaper 4080 super is in australi vs normal 4080?
Same price
My sweet brother, that was a great review. Seems that one rather buy the vanilla 4080 if it is in clear out. Good luck.
Every card at MSRP (12999 or about 1300 dollars incl tax) is sold out here in Sweden at least where I have looked. This was not the case for 4070 Super or 4070 Ti Super so people were apparently very interested in 4080 Super. The cheapest in stock is 1000 (about 100 dollars) more.
Or the AIB's and Nvidia limited stock in anticipation of low sales?
Your vlog is very good. Do you know where to Buy RTX 4080 Super in Qatar? - GCC Gamers
Bro how do you get Nvidia Founders Edition cards in Aus?
4080FE, this, and 4090FE are good for ITX builds. A4-H2O fits it nice. shame AIB aren't doing small models
The Australian prices for the RTX super variants are garbage.😂
For real. You guys always get screwed the worst. The irony is how close you live relative to where these are actually assembled
Because the Chinese control the distribution here in AU😢…
You should see the NZ prices 💀
If you think AU is bad.. come across the ditch and you'll see how bad NZ prices are 😂
@@chillnspace777true altho like a month after release the 4070 non super dropped to $900 AUD which when accounting for tax is like $550 USD which was pretty decent imo
Much love from up over, mate.
Yea its a solid card. Great deal. Its a huge upgrade over my 3090, but not in vram.. thats why im saving for the 5090
It would have been enough if nvidia didn't short the supply ensuring that the new super wasn't at or above the already overinflated price of the 4080. Scalpers and AIB just love nvidia bending us over.
Still a great video, thank you
At Scan in the UK the cheapest 4080 in stock is £1089 and the cheapest 4080 Super is £1039.. go figure!
It was really hard to keep eyes on you during the vid, for some reason I kept peeking over your shoulder at the stack of Gpu's on the table behind you.
4:39 I just looked to see how much I pay for power $0.08 per kWh in the state of Oregon, $0.20 is crazy but I'm on hydroelectric power and we make so much in our state that half of it is sold to California where power is really expensive.
Pointless to bring this up, unless you spend 10 hours a day gaming non stop.
Hey mate. Quick question. How did you manage to get your hands on a Founders Edition card in Aus. I can’t for the life of me find it anywhere. Mwave ise to sell Founders Edition at some stage, but nothing on their site?
You can't mate, no FE for AUS.
@@pituguli5816 Unfortunately ive had to import my last few from the US. disappointing, since they are a popular option especially for MITX cases etc. The next best thing i guess is the MSI Expert...just trying to find one somewhere..
for the 4080 super fe specifically the founders edition is actually quite bad. The power stages in the board was cut down significantly from the non super. Went from 13 power stages for the core to 11 and went from 3 for the memory to 2 which is a big cut down on that memory
@@Frozoken Interesting. I ended up picking up 1 of the 2 Msi expert version that came in to scorptec yesterday. Due to my case i need a blower style cooler to get rid of the hot air from the case
instead of UV just turn on vsync. Lets not pretend the kid with a gtx 770 and his 4:3 aspect ratio ain't still busting your balls. No hardware advantage will save you.
yeah these super card seem to be super bad value for the aussie market. keep an eye on the prices in the coming month or try to get a 4070 ti / 4070 on sale in the coming months.
rtx 4080 price drop, not so much difference because same cache and memory buss. Grats voor de video!
Not worth it at all. Too little too late, what's funny is that a 4080 has been on sale for $1,499 here in Australia for 2 days now and it still hasn't sold out....and this super version that's supposed to have a price cut will be over $300 more than that for basically the same performance 😂 way to little too late, if the 4080 launch at $1,499 I might have caved
Ahhh ok now I've watched the video I noticed you showed the sale I was talking about 😂
Yeah definitely am on top of it, residents in the US seem to be the only winners on this one.
I snagged one today. Did you get 2600 at 950mv for the UV? Just looking for a starting point to see where mine ends up.
799 or bust, the 3080 was 699.
Yeah UK pricing will suck, over £1100 I'd guess. Not enough to make me upgrade from a 3080...Have to be £700 max, which will never happen.
Nahh at like +25 percent total and that's Philippine price(w/ tax included). Like here the 14th gen intel got price boosted instead of retain like their counterparts. Sad, no such thing as liquidation sales, only layoffs.
No, $999 is still overpriced. This GPU's MSRP should be no more than $799
$849 would be fine imo seeing you're no longer paying with the obvious vram capacity trade off like the 3080 was.
Here in CA the 4080 S is $300 cheaper than the plain one, hopefully AMD will react and lower the 7900 xtx price.
Rtx 4080 SUPER SCALP!!!!!

Who cares? Is snyone seriously thinking of upgrading from a 4080 to a 4080 super!?

It makes 4070 Ti Super looks good, which is ridiculous. All is done for shareholders, not customers.
Price drop lmao! Scalp Scalp Scalp!!!!
They crippled the 4080 Super with one fewer VRM to save money so the card is much more power limited and it wont overclock...
price/performance is key and is king.

Not that I can't afford it but it just is not something I'd like to pay for that level of card. Let's get the 80 class down to $500 or $600 where it belongs. Refuse to buy them.
4070 Super is the only card from NVDIA that is worth the money
All of them are worth the money, that's why 1 in 10 gamers bought them.
Here in Austria power prices have been fucking nuts since russia ukraine war and so i'll never be able to justify a XTX over a 4080
Modern Nvidia is a souped up version of d0uch3b4gs they were since the 900 series, this side of them is improving more than tech itself. I miss their early 10's attitude and before. 256-bit 4080 Super...
The best part of the Super series is that AMD lowered their prices 😁
Minimum 1200 euros here for an AIB
PAPA IS HERE!
NVIDIA really needs to change... I don't understand how they can get away with this and the pricing...
They just cut the price by $200. That's a good thing.
Huge marketshare and proprietary tech. AMD and Intel got no chance beyond the gamer who needs rasterization and no bells and whistles. Intel is a newcomer, but AMD got to step up their game already. Just buy used... Only way to stick to them while saving a buck and not handicapping your experience.

Wow for $999 one could just but an rx7900xtx and it’d be significantly better than the 4080super ridiculous
Rx 7900 xtx way better because ov way more vram most important think in gpus but some people don't iven know how important is vram 16gb vram on 1000$ gpu is joke and horrible
