Patrick Martins It would have been cool if they reached 1000 deaths in this movie. As of right now I think the only movie they've done with more than 1000 deaths is The Hobbit: Battle of the Five Armies. ruclips.net/video/cCnbDAKp5xs/видео.html
Fictionally aware: This movie was horrifying, all those people that died, their city falling apart underneath them. I couldn't image being one of the non leads falling into the earth like that.
When looking back at the Los Angeles scene there were a TON of people unaccounted for In fact when they were driving through the neighborhood you can literally see a guy fall in one of the cracks
Kelakotana Gaming I was just about to make a comment about that myself. Glad someone else saw it. Also, given the airport was full of people (estimates of 100-250), that was inaccurate, though we only hear the one guy die. But obviously if he died, so did everyone else inside.
Adrian Ghandtchi We actually see the inside of the airport, as the family was in there before heading out to the massive plane with the guy's boss. You see a large number of people inside, imcluding a fireman that tried to get them all back into the airport, before seeing that cloud of ash and smoke.
The movie actually has around 7.1 billion deaths while 400,000 survived. 2009's population was 6.8 billion people in real life, so they assumed the number would be bigger in 2012.
I don’t think Yellowstone would cause that much but it would definitely put ash clouds over most of the country and cause earthquakes,a small tsunami and destroy the five states in that surrounding area.
I'm good. They all seem to be the same. Usually when there's a movie trend (global disaster, YA series, found footage, anthologies) it gets wearying after a while.
Films like this and the Final Destination series are what I classify under the "torture porn" category. In other words, these films primarily exist for the shock value alone; drama, to be exact, which is something we as humans have had a weird fascination for since way back in the days of colosseums in the Roman Empire. Not to shit on real life tragedies by any means. Whether it'd be via natural disasters, accidents involving machinery or other manmade structures, or even by the hands of human beings themselves, these events should be taken more seriously and I feel sorry for the victims of these occurrences whenever they do happen. But these films go way over-the-top to the point where it it's more cartoony than anything else.
