  • Im in! My ultimate RUclips workspace is complete. I built this studio space with the aim of getting more content created, and to be away from the house so I can setup a proper studio for work and RUclips. Let me know your thoughts on my space, the short commercial I created, and my lighting setup specifically for a RUclips set.
    If you are keen to use similar equipment to what I have shown, all my gear is listed below.
    ------------------------------------------------------
    I get all my music and SFX from either Epidemic Sound or Artlist. Both great platforms to try out using my links below!

    I understand and sympathize with how hard it is to get started when "the fear" has kicked in. When the momentum is rolling in your favor, it's great, but when it's not, it can be so hard. But be encouraged, man, because your work is fantastic and compelling and motivating. And we all want to see more of it, because it's so freakin' good, and because it's so refreshing to see someone so passionate and dedicated to his craft and to quality. Keep fighting the fear and making, because your work is great and beautiful and valuable.

      Thank you so much Ian. Such a nice motivation to read this. I really feel the momentum could start if I can keep a weekly upload going. Luckily, already have a few more ideas that I'm keen to get out ASAP so if I can squeeze in the time between client work then I should hopefully for the first time have hit a weekly upload throughout March! Thank you for the comment, really inspiring to read 😊

      My friends think all I do is make beer commercials 😂 It's true, I do a lot, but they are so fun to film and i'd say they are one of the few pieces of packaging that really push the art design which makes me get ideas.

    Very cool space. I’m in the same spot in 2022 - I’ve made several videos, but haven’t posted one in 3 months. Maybe it’s the state of the world getting me down? Dunno. It’s to the point that I feel I might just save them up and release them all in 2023, but that’s probably a terrible idea. Anyway, good luck with inspiration and getting most out of that space!

      Yes agree. Having to tidy up a space in the house and then pack everything away again to avoid kids touching the lights and camera certainly was a time killer. This way I'll be able to leave a set design for days and in theory will make content creating easier.

    Great video James! I know what you mean about being nervous to put out a video. We all get in our own heads and talk ourselves out of making videos sometimes. But seriously, there is no reason for you to feel like that. Your videos are great! They are always very well done and entertaining! With some constancy your channel is going to go big. Just keep it up! Also the video you made for the builders of your new studio was extremely well done! Great job! I am not as good at graphic design as you are and would love to know how you did the text on that video. Was it all in after effects? Show me how!

    • @JamesKellyStudio
      @JamesKellyStudio  2 года назад +1

      Thanks for the support Chance, always great to feel motivated. As for the text on the office video, well I actually was planning to explore that in my next upload. Got a product shoot on this week and the client has allowed me to use it for a RUclips tutorial, and one of my plans was to incorporate the 3D text effect. It's nothing new I guess but certainly something great to know how to do. It was all After Effects, but I do wonder if there is an easier way, hmmmm....

    Great Video James, i can relate to the fear of hitting record and post a Video. After a remodeling of the attic, that came out as a great gameroom / youtube recording space. I havent been able to create any content yet.
    I planned for weeks to do a unboxing video of my favorite game that came out last month, recording the video felt great and natural, but after reviewing it, i came to knowledge that the sound was horrible and i spent way to many time on opening the box and putting the collector’s statue together. So i deleted every thing and thinking about what i can do next and different.
    Keep up the work you do, your video’s have great quality. Cheers

    • @JamesKellyStudio
      @JamesKellyStudio  2 года назад +1

      Don’t you just hate it when you are most the way through editing and then realise it’s no good. The amount of scripts I’ve started and then never finished is awful. We are our own worst critic after all. What was the game? Board game or computer? Is this what you plan to focus on your channel? Best advise is to just get something out and everything starts to feel clearer. I already feel less stress and more excitement just from releasing yesterday’s video

    • @kevinnigel184
      @kevinnigel184 2 года назад

      @@JamesKellyStudio it was a unboxing for Horizon Forbidden west collectors edition (playstation videogame). I had a script in mind and that worked out great. Also most parts that felt unnatural i could edit out. But the sound on the recording was just so bad i couldn’t do anything about that. I recorded with my dads Canon eos 60D and used a Lavier microphone that had good reviews. The sound just was very metal. So i think i have to do some acoustics in the room.
      The channel i was thinking of is about 2 shows. One is the room where i can stream games, unbox gadgets and do reviews about products. Second series would be vlogging about creating a youtube channel and my road towards it.
      This makes me love to watch your video’s you showed some great skills in editing and a great tutorial. But also talk about stepping over the fear of hitting record and post it on youtube.
