Dude, I was burnt the fuck out. Did almost nothing for into the light, and i didn't even do the pantheon. But when I played the new campaign, it was such a breath of fresh air. As a solo legendary player, some encounters were actually pretty tough. Nothing felt like a drag, repetitive, etc. (apart from all the times I died). The pale heart is full of different things to do in every area. There's definitely more to say, so I highly recommend playing.

As well as what Asa told us in Season of the Deep of the Witness’ origins, showing it didn’t just hate the Traveler, deep down, it was *AFRAID* because it didn’t get the answers it wanted when it was one being, so it needed to “give purpose” to be able to feel like it mattered, thus came the idea of the Final Shape- calcifying the universe into a “perfect” state where nothing happens ever.
So Destiny is basically Gurren Lagann? - Same antagonist motivation - Entire antagonist race fused into one single being - Guy who killed our best friend is now our ally - Trying the infinite tsukuyomi on the rest of the universe

I thought when I saw the helm at the end of the campaign that i must've just missed it entering. WTF Bungie I was waiting for that moment. It was nuts but Targe got to the Witness when he said he saw fear from it and he was right. Even with his sacrifice, he managed to expose the truth about the Witness, and it killing him shows how right he was.

I didn't even buy the final shape and I've played all other expansions I quit destiny because destiny's not worth playing. $50 expansions that barely work and have almost no content. Figured I'd just watch it on RUclips get the same experience so thank you this was all I really needed

At first i wasnt sure if i liked the design to the witness but now its one of my favorite villain designs in any game ive played. Its perfect in terms of the destiny universe: no emotion, no expression, no explanation, and looks very out of place compared to every other enemy weve faced in the game so far.
So summarized, you get another cliffhanger ending. Nice job Bungie. Edit: tHe rAiD. Many players didn't complete any raid (including me) because toxic players who order your loadout like for example: _Lunar Warlock or GTFO_ They could make a challenging campaign boss Witness with NPCs like Zavala helping you or something. It just takes the feeling away of "You're the chosen guardian". I mean the Savathun boss fight was also a campaign mission and it was good. Let all the toxic raiders be hating, they just say trash like _skill issue_ or something. I carried my two friends in almost every dungeon, until I stopped playing after Lightfall. All these raiding sh¡t annoys me and every fckng season repeat PvP which I just despite doing and missing good weapons and so on I'm sick of playing. Maybe if they make everything obtainable for everyone I return playing otherwise I'm done and just watch story videos.

If we killed the witness prior to the raid who in tf would be the raid boss? It'd be a huge huge let down if the witness, the big bad antagonist behind the whole franchise, doesn't end up being the raid boss.
That opening scene showing the city all finalised sets the tone and stakes perfectly. The planet being remade and then the casual pan to the Traveler just sitting there. You'd expect it to be corrupted or twisted as its light reshapes the world but no. For a few suspenseful seconds we just look at it as it has been all year, just hanging there exactly the same as the universe changes. And then we go inside, then we see it fight back, the witness commenting on its resistance, and Mara reiterating the stakes. Fantastic drama
Absolutely SUCKS, I finished the first mission and instead of being able to enjoy the story beats with my own guardian in them (which I'll now never be able to do, thanks Bungie) I got kicked to orbit. Appreciate the post!
I mean to be fair, just like The Witch Queen and Lightfall you can go back and play the entire campaign with the cutscenes and all. I genuinely hate what happened with the error codes but you CAN go back and play it in any difficulty you want

I love the Zavala witness cutscene, how SCP the witness feels but also while the witness is talking it’s hundreds of voices at once, but “what was made can be unmade, it is where we destroyed ourselves” only being 1 and it’s the dissenting voice that’s helping us. Is so FUCKING cool
The idea the Witness had dissenters within itself due to how its race was remade in the Darkness after contacting the Veil fits so well and is a nice touch to the story and how we can weaken the Witness so we can defeat it once and for all.

In Lightfall, the witness needed the veil to create a portal to enter the traveller. And in one of the cutscenes in TFS, it shows the veil being used to create the witness
Brother it’s been explained already same with the witnesses origins. The veil is another entity like the traveler put into the universe by the ones playing the flower game. We actually know more about the veil then we do the traveler now funnily enough

It was alright. I liked the scenes of the Vanguard working together and seeing Cayde again was nice. Not so much of a fan of him coming back permanently and I’m kinda disappointed that The Witness’ final goal is to just became the god of the universe. All that setup and complexity to just make his endgame the same as all the other villains was very underwhelming.
Remember those times Cayde-6 offering hugs from the red wars? Now he got it! From a man I never thought he would for being serious. I would feel the same, too. lol

When that snippet played in the trailer, it looks like 6 guardians transmat in, so I think that's the raid fly in cutscene
I think they will continue, the expansion is not over, everything will end in the future raid, thats when that cutscene would happen

It’s the relic from rise of iron, in the lore Saladin gave it to Crow back when he was training him and he taught him how to use it

I love the Zavala witness cutscene, how SCP the witness feels but also while the witness is talking it’s hundreds of voices at once, but “what was made can be unmade, it is where we destroyed ourselves” only being 1 and it’s the dissenting voice that’s helping us. Is so FUCKING cool
The idea the Witness had dissenters within itself due to how its race was remade in the Darkness after contacting the Veil fits so well and is a nice touch to the story and how we can weaken the Witness so we can defeat it once and for all.

I'm glad they actually remembered Crow has that axe, I've been wanting to see that thing actually get used since Saladin gave it to him.

In Lightfall, the witness needed the veil to create a portal to enter the traveller. And in one of the cutscenes in TFS, it shows the veil being used to create the witness

Brother it’s been explained already same with the witnesses origins. The veil is another entity like the traveler put into the universe by the ones playing the flower game. We actually know more about the veil then we do the traveler now funnily enough
im so mad, the game crashed before i got the meeting cayde cut scene, i feel robbed, i havent been playing since beta and mourned cayde all this time just to miss my guardian talking to him again for the first time in years, i might actually like start over once the servers settle just to see this properly

i havent played since Forsaken, but it looks like they are trying to bring the whole Destiny Story to a close.

It was alright. I liked the scenes of the Vanguard working together and seeing Cayde again was nice.
Not so much of a fan of him coming back permanently and I’m kinda disappointed that The Witness’ final goal is to just became the god of the universe. All that setup and complexity to just make his endgame the same as all the other villains was very underwhelming.

Once the raid and final mission is over, people will be dropping like flies. People bought it to see it finished, once its finished I think D2 is dead imo. You will never bring back those people who left.

The cayde explaining cutscenes cut the walking up on cayde scene off. Never saw where guardian walked up on him first

@hervisdaubeny2784 ok.... so what ur saying is that 99% of the playerbase that can barely complete a normal raid, have to go and watch on youtube as the REAL guardians of the story go and do day 1 of the raid/story. Basically, ur guardian did nothing, and had no matter at all in weakening the witness.
A lot of this story feels like it was cut straight from vanilla D1 and recycled into this. Especially the random ending with kids running around and lanterns.
