For those who still have questions, stop looking at the witness as the opposite of the traveler, it is just a civilization who joined in together using the power of the dark to do what it wants which is create a reality of perfect sutleness, some in that civilization realized it was wrong and that’s why they showed us how to hurt the witness, the statues are just a depiction of that civilization and a way they can communicate, the darkness exist in thoughts and nightmares, the light exist in a physical form in life which it’s the traveler nothing more they are just peracausal forces, as for the veil it is merely a key to unite light and darkness and reshape reality bc lights only serves to create life and darkness does the opposite, only the witness uses it for evil he is not darkness himself just a being that became so powerful due to the level of sacrifice and merging of a whole civilization
Very good explanation. The fact that the only way we can kill the witness is because the witness is conflicted in Itself. I see during the raid you remember “usal tactics won’t work here” what if hear me out we damage the witness by breaking statues. Not a traditional dps phase. So for example we do mechanics to spawn sword/swords and to give us access to embrace the darkness. We all go in and break as many statues before the witness can drag us out. Or there’s a timer and if we stay inside we die so we need to escape before it kills us. If we break enough final stand will play out normally and we must use our weapons to finish it off.

We found out nothing new about the Witness, except for the fact he cut some weak thoughts out of himself, because he is just a little scared pathetic culmination of a race. Destiny really needs to bring better writers to their villains, this one had so much potential and yet, he barely achieves anything and shouts like an emotional little kid when his plan doesnt work.
@@wolfofwarframe3807thank you. I thought I was crazy when I saw people raving over this campaign with reference to the witness. Most of what we saw about the witness was stuff it already said. Lore about it we already heard. The only “new thing” was how to hurt it. I was hoping to learn more about the witness but all I got was some tantrums and offers.
39:01 are you also bustin' it down titan style?
At this point, it’s almost certain that the Traveler is not the Gardner right? Too many instances of characters referring to the Gardner as a separate entity from the Traveler!
so what is the traveler?
Well destiny 2 wont tell you that give you a bs reason. D1's gave you lots of hints that made you think and pieced it all together. Great read. Some say it a great machine, some say it is the last remnant from it race like the last blue whale on earth (or...dr who) being chased by the great hunt. Some view it as a gardener in their dreams. Etc etc. It really beutiful.
D2 is like: its a big ball stuuuuuuupid. And at the same time :🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️
hmmm4_4 they should make you destroy every statue with its reason in the boss fight death means starting over again its minimum time before completion being 6 hours Goood show kinda nice
They better not have the defeat of the witness be just in the raid. That would piss me off so much especially since i dont raid. I love the story but some of it is held behind the raids and it is annoying. They better not do it with this.
They are really giving either Red flags or Red herrings for Zavala's death/sacrifice.
It’s like we’re The Last Alliance from LOTR, marching into Mordor and laying siege to Sauron’s fortress, Barad-Dûr. But eventually, the Dark Lord himself will come forth.
I got huge lotr vibes!
Can anybody explain the screaming from the traveler
This is tearing me apart bro.
What’s that ghost shell at the end
30:00 Is that DR VENTURE???
