What does this basically apply in his head? he doesn’t understand why we killed him, or why we continue to fight for a silent god, why we continute to create a never ending cycle of creation and destruction only to simply repeat the game of living and dying for no purpose. is that what he means? He says we, i, I don’t understand. It seems like he was using the Darkness as a “We don’t know why you would do this to us” and changes it to “I” showcasing that he was suppressing the other voices and Dissenters?
Honestly, the correction to "I" IS big. It shows the dissenting voices won in the end.

Whether one guy was orchestrating the whole thing or the non-dissenters basically losing all individuality as to become one person. Or the possibility the Witness really was just the manifestation of the civilization's desires and it becoming a sentient monster on its own. Everyone else becoming trapped in an almost never-ending nightmare.

I quit the game after the stasis dlc came out due to obvious reasons, but I've never stopped loving the game and its story. We all made some unforgettable memories in Destiny, happy to see a great conclusion to this amazing story.

@@Archande The grind started to get repetitive, and I was mostly into PVP which they didnt touch much at all for a long time after I left! There's some more minor reasons but looking at it they fixed alot of stuff.

if the witness is a collection of minds, if they became self-aware of each other they might feel trapped or stuck and go insane. it's a fate worse than death.
Its interesting to think that the Witness was honestly probably just a normal individual at one point, but was progressively warped by the darkness to absorb and consume everything and everyone near it, making it a part of itself. In the witnesses final moments, it finally realized everything, as well as shocked that it had failed. As well as the original person behind the witness and its powers likely being shocked that against all odds, it or he, had been taken down.

Well shes not completely on our side. She still has her own agenda, that presumably freeing her brood from the shackles of sword logic according to her convo with Luzaku. She found out pretty early on that the Witness tricked her and her sisters into becoming genocidal monsters, tools for the witness to destroy anyone who opposed it. But they saw no way out so they kept going
I love how the Arbiter is now the voice of Zavala
well because the original voice actor unfortunately died ( by the way he's also the Continental)

@@lmao.1861 Companies have done it in the past, even in games that are well received. Halo: Reach for example, has the supercarrier in it being just an upscaled model of the Halo 3 assault carriers, only given a texture update given the difference in graphics.
This is just the first case that comes to mind, acting like a little thing like a random little dog appearing for only one scene needs its own model instead of investing resources in more important things is ridiculous. Bungie could have done better in a lot of things, but you are choosing to critic this tiny thing that barely affects the game experience

Seeing the Eliksni kids run around with Human kids and with the lil war beast, that was so adorable and heartwarming that it made me tear up a second time.

So many people missing the fact that the Traveler did not resurrect the Ghost. Cayde did. Because... sacrifice...ends in death. There is no free dinner in the light. And that's fucking awesome. Because it gives true meaning to sacrifice.

Just an additional reminder: according to Ergo Sum’s lore tab, the traveler sees the light as it’s burden and doesn’t like putting more of a burden on people, and won’t give it to any who see the burden as a gift. It doesn’t ask for help because it feels like it’s forcing too much on guardians already, bringing a ghost back just would let the burden last longer in its eyes. That’s why it lets us choose, and only gives us more when we willingly seek to help it; it only gave us the sword because we chose to take on the burden of helping it

Tbf it's kinda rarted that this godlike ascended-beyond-mortality type being with the power and abilities it had shows up after 10 years and its weakness is statues in its memories and it gets killed in a 15 minute mission or raid. It'd be a great way to sell the whole premise of a god being comprised of a billion souls combined through an unholy ritual and that something that crazy isn't easy to permanently end.
The witness couldve flicked its finger and killed all the guardians like it does with everything else but he went out with plates and shapes 😂
He was severely weakened by the raid and campaign finale to be fair
It took the combined efforts of the entire solar system worth of soldiers and guardians, an army of cabal, an army of fallen, literal hive god, the traveler itself, the very same witness betraying itself, and the one and only THE GUARDIAN himself to put down the witness and we still almost died.
When ur sitting there at the end looking at the traveler... if your in a fireteam, they are there too.

The Witness referring to itself as "i" in it's final moments is something that I still can't figure out. It's such a subtle detail but it says so, so, so much. It's almost as if the bliss of death made it remember that it's not a god and it's just another selfish being in a universe of meaninglessness.
Cause when the witness speaks, it believes it speaks for everyone, but when realise he lost he realises it was just him not understanding life
That's the thing, he refused to understand that there IS meaning in the universe outside of "having a set purpose." Remember, Guardians make their own fate. Who is to say that everyone else cannot do the same?

You're all right in your own ways the witness was an individual but he annihilated his whole race and absorbed them into himself hence why he uses the term we and that after the purge he realizes that he is alone a sole entity for darkness

In the beginning it was the ghost who revived the Guardian. And in the end it was The Guardian who revived The Ghost!! EPIC!!!!❤
I was silently crying from the moment the ghost shut down. Cayde's death was so sad since we were teased by seeing and interacting with him again, but it was also beautiful because he did it on his terms but when he said "You're my favorite" I lost it. Then the cutscene overlooking the city was so beautiful as we sort of reflected on the end of a long war finally and savored the victory. Then I think the sketch scene got me the worst because it showed all of the characters we'd met in the story so far and all of our allies. It really puts into perspective how much has changed. I started playing around Shadowkeep after my friends got me into it and I fortunately had the ability to play every campaign and see the old locations. This one hit on the nostalgia. Unfortunately I only still play with one of my buddies from my original clan. Sometimes I miss when things were simpler and power level was just in the 800s range and the pyramids and darkness were just a mystery to be uncovered running around the EDZ for New Light and the dialogue and banter between Devrim and Hawthorne, but the game has developed into something truly awesome

Good for the people at Bungie for nailing the landing. Cayde returned and was a tad bit wiser his second time around. He was given a choice. The Vanguard has changed some of them facing their paths while others embracing their future. I feel we are seeing an epilogue here, and it will be a good one.
BTW, this video game hit more in the feels and character development than most streaming shows.

Man when i was doing this fight and the witness slammed their hand down on the platform i jumped on its hand and started running up the arm. Idk if there was actually any point to it but i never felt cooler and my fireteam of 4 were almost as hyped as i was when it happened
Ngl when we unleashed our ghost super I was so focused on the fight I didnt realize it was our little ghost screaming in agony - I thought it was the witness.

Main the Cayde sacrifice got to me hard. But this was just amazing. Great work Bungie. One hell of a answer to the Lightfall debacle. Much, much appreciated. When you can lure someone in to not even doing anything at work to be sucked into an 18, almost 19 hour Campaign, I say again, JOB WELL DONE!!!!

I feel sorry for anyone that hasn't played destiny since day one and played it in the entirety like the story was meant to be played. Drip fed us to death. A ten year cheers that needed those doors closed and what a poetic and beautiful way to end it.

I need the Traveler aurora as a live wallpaper. Also, I really like getting strategic updates over the Vanguard channel after finishing a DLC, really helps to get a feel for where things are at.

It was a good campaign, I just feel like more could have been done. It felt too short. Personally, I believe this should have been a two-raid campaign (Nezarec and Witness) just to send it off right, and Calus should have been the raid for Lightfall. We could have learned about utilizing Prismatic during Nezarec’s raid and then gained the class to use during the Second Act, and it would have fit really well with the boss being both Dark and Light. It could have added more depth to the whole thing, and given it a proper burn. Otherwise, it was a good campaign and I can’t wait to see what else Bungie has in store for this game.

At the end of the video crow mentioned three objects leaving the Traveler with one heading towards Nessus where episode 1 is set. I’m guessing the other 2 will be involved in episode 2 and 3.
The thing about them potentially including more new aspects/supers is just me being VERY hopeful. I doubt it’s going to happen

The D1 music definitely hits the feels.
A Guardian makes his own fate. The fact that the Traveler stays silent in the most important moments says everything about it. It wants us to always do our own will and that is its will for us. So in his death again he chose his peace over having to continually fight the next big baddie. He knew that the Vanguard was already in good hands and that they’d be better served in the future with us and Crow. This Final Shape DLC not only delivered on so many promises but delivered an ending worthy of all the years we went through to get here.

The ghost of the innocent Krill the Hive once were are finally getting their vindication & rebuke, who knows many ages after the Witness first molded & groomed them and infected them with parasites, to strip away their souls…
Luzaku‘s Ghost isn’t exactly a good person if you read the lore. She defied what her Ghost wanted just to get into the Pale Heart. So no idea what vindication is there.

Toland in a way is just the human version of Savathun. He is an opportunist and will seize power if he can get away with it.
Toland actually straight up hates us for denying the Sword Logic and not taking up Oryx's throne. Canonically, we are the new proprietary of the Taken, as because we defeated Oryx, we proved we are stronger than he is to subvert his throne and take it from him. But because we didn't, we left a power vacuum, and thus, the Taken are forever listless and without guidance until some form of leadership shows up. And even then, we will break them too.
