Painting the Imprimatura

    Technically, this painting stage should be called a brunaille, as I'm painting the underpainting in shades of brown. I've already toned my canvas (imprimatura usually) and then done a charcoal drawing ON TOP of that.

    Here is the second part of my figure painting titled 'Transformation', where I paint the imprimatura layer with burnt umber oil paint, a bit of linseed oil and gum turpentine medium, and a trusty hogshair filbert brush.

    Very nice video. Im so noob in painting, you helped alot. So, sepia over drawing used cause no of fixative spray?

      I use final fixative spray to prevent the graphite or charcoal to bleed thru the paint
