They forgot to mention one important thing about Till's lyrics. In the GDR, song lyrics had to be submitted to a government agency for review. It was checked whether the lyrics contained seditious and anti-state ideas. For this reason, Till used a lot of metaphors in his poems so as not to make the statements too obvious. ❤‍🔥❤‍🔥❤‍🔥❤‍🔥❤‍🔥❤‍🔥

The fact that if Richard had never bought that guitar and had not come across that girl we would never have had Rammstein really makes you appreciate right place right time. An innocent decision to buy a guitar with the intention of selling it only to meet a girl who inspires you to learn to play it which leads to Rammstein. Mind blowing.

    Hi D.
Something the media never understood or seem to grasp is this: the typical type of Rammstein fan is so bound to the band BECAUSE of the attitude of the band and their will to push boundaries. To test the tolerance of freedom of art and speech. To them, freedom also includes addressing unpleasant topics and putting your finger on the wound. It's not like other bands don't do it, but Rammstein also turns the finger. And that goes too far for many.
Whenever I read a derogatory article or see one of those RUclips channels these days that seem to have eaten wisdom and morality with a spoon, I think: well, it provoked you. Goal achieved.

    More info for you -
-Richard and Till actually met in either 1987 or 1985 (depends who you ask) not 1989.
-Feeling B were pretty well known in GDR punk scene and were in West Berlin playing a gig when the wall fell. They actually got permission to from the government to play there.. with a Stasi spy acting as their manager, of course. They're actually well documented and there's lots of videos, interviews, documentary and a book about them.
-Flake never verbally agreed to play in Rammstein so it's a running joke within the band whether he's actually in it. Speaking of Flake, he wrote 2 books about Feeling B and Rammstein, one of which, It's The World's Birthday Today, is translated in English and is an absolute must read for every Rammstein fan.
-Unfortunately, Till's injuries are very real. His arms and chest are heavily scarred and it's only gotten worse in the last few years.
-Because of their 1999 arrest, to this day, whenever Till and Flake enter the US, they get separated from the rest of the band and questioned.
You must watch Rammstein in Amerika documentary, the guys themselves sat down all together and spoke about conquering America. We should be getting a huge new, 30th anniversary documentary this year. The guys were filming it since 2019.

That documentary was really nice to watch, thank you for reacting to it 😊
'Flake' (Christian Lorenz) wrote about that day when Till and he were being arrested (for a couple of hours) in one of his books.
They were arrested bc of their live performance of the song 'Bück Dich'.
It was highly interesting to read 😅
I love Flake's books...in his first book he describes his childhood and youth in east germany; the second book is about the story of Rammstein and what happens backstage/behind the scenes/touring.

    - Marilyn Manson
    - Jonny Cash
    - Def Leppard
    - Tori Amos
    - Placebo
    - The Smashing Pumpkins
    - Nina Hagen

On June 17 and the days that followed, 34 demonstrators and spectators were shot by People's Police and Soviet soldiers or died as a result of gunshot wounds.
