They forgot to mention one important thing about Till's lyrics. In the GDR, song lyrics had to be submitted to a government agency for review. It was checked whether the lyrics contained seditious and anti-state ideas. For this reason, Till used a lot of metaphors in his poems so as not to make the statements too obvious. ❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥
The fact that if Richard had never bought that guitar and had not come across that girl we would never have had Rammstein really makes you appreciate right place right time. An innocent decision to buy a guitar with the intention of selling it only to meet a girl who inspires you to learn to play it which leads to Rammstein. Mind blowing.
Hi D. Something the media never understood or seem to grasp is this: the typical type of Rammstein fan is so bound to the band BECAUSE of the attitude of the band and their will to push boundaries. To test the tolerance of freedom of art and speech. To them, freedom also includes addressing unpleasant topics and putting your finger on the wound. It's not like other bands don't do it, but Rammstein also turns the finger. And that goes too far for many. Whenever I read a derogatory article or see one of those RUclips channels these days that seem to have eaten wisdom and morality with a spoon, I think: well, it provoked you. Goal achieved.
More info for you - -Richard and Till actually met in either 1987 or 1985 (depends who you ask) not 1989. -Feeling B were pretty well known in GDR punk scene and were in West Berlin playing a gig when the wall fell. They actually got permission to from the government to play there.. with a Stasi spy acting as their manager, of course. They're actually well documented and there's lots of videos, interviews, documentary and a book about them. -Flake never verbally agreed to play in Rammstein so it's a running joke within the band whether he's actually in it. Speaking of Flake, he wrote 2 books about Feeling B and Rammstein, one of which, It's The World's Birthday Today, is translated in English and is an absolute must read for every Rammstein fan. -Unfortunately, Till's injuries are very real. His arms and chest are heavily scarred and it's only gotten worse in the last few years. -Because of their 1999 arrest, to this day, whenever Till and Flake enter the US, they get separated from the rest of the band and questioned. You must watch Rammstein in Amerika documentary, the guys themselves sat down all together and spoke about conquering America. We should be getting a huge new, 30th anniversary documentary this year. The guys were filming it since 2019.
wonder if 'D' will do a reaction to the ' Rammstein in Amerika'' documentary but its probably to long at 2 hrs is it, but I've seen other reactor's review movies but edit them down to 20 mins, if 'D' wants to go down that route@@ninachiflada
mmm..interresting question, you have to imagine they have, all bands that are hugely successful must have that moment, and its a interesting relationship they have as Richard is or was with Till's former partner which I believe is not unusual in Germany
When you consider what the boys went through just to get together and now they've been together 30 years unchanged. Damn impressive! How many bands have lasted 30 years unchanged? 🤘🤘
only one I know off is Rammstein and the only other group that comes to mind is Kraftwerk and sadly they lost a member lately, of which Rammstein are huge fans off, love to see 'D' do a reaction to their cover of ''Das Modell''

They were arrested bc of their live performance of the song 'Bück Dich'. It was highly interesting to read 😅 I love Flake's books...in his first book he describes his childhood and youth in east germany; the second book is about the story of Rammstein and what happens backstage/behind the scenes/touring. I am so glad btw that you reacted to this. It's something that I have watched more times than I can count. Every time I watch it I am more and more grateful that they even exist. What they have been through and the stars that had to align just for them to do so is incredible.
During 2022 tour when playing heirate mich he hit his head against a pole making it bleed, but you could see on fan pictures from between the shows that he has a scar/wound in his Forehead
There's also the story of Richard being recruited to spy for the StaSi after some incident. To make himself the most useless spy in history, he immediately told everybody he knew or met about it :-D
Aside from possibly very early on, Till's head splitting antics are entirely authentic. Not that that's necessarily a good thing. He gave himself a horrific looking head injury last year in Vienna.
The full story on Till and Flake's arrest in Massachusetts goes like this. The mayor's daughter was at the concert and reported back home gushing about it. The mayor then called the police chief and he took action.
