- @CleetusM didn't hold back when we gave him the keys to the Sick Seconds Drag Week Camaro.
First Tom needed to check the car out and make sure it would behave itself after a few years away from the track. After a couple of test passes it was time for Cleetus to take the wheel for the first time.
He started out well and it only got better when he smashed his PB with a huge 6.53/224mph run (thought things got a little 'spicy' in the braking area). He might have been a bit nervous at the start but by the end of the day we couldn't wipe the grin off his face!
So what's next for Sick Seconds? Well as many of you have said in the comments, the car is for sale. Or should that be 'was' for sale?
During the video I noticed a dumb moment. I had my visor up for my second run, despite preaching how important it is to have it closed! I was distracted by the issues the car was having and plain forgot - even after having a major fire so recently. I'll be changing my routine for the future so I don't forget.

dude! like whoa. so rad.
I can wait to see all of you guys on race week.
Race week should be awesome with you all there
Finnegan's Garage i hope you get to drive mullet when its done!
So when are you hopping in this Finn?
What are you doing watching YT videos? Don't you have some content to post? It's the Month of Freedom!
Remember how everyone used to comment on 1320 videos saying "Oh this Tom Bailey guy seems like an asshole"? Not everyone is up for an interview inbetween runs. Tom is such a cool guy when he's not chasing a 5 second pass ;)
i was guilty of the same thing but now i see he was just really driven just shows just how video clips can twist things
I just know your perspective changes when you’re driving your car. That’s what Tom was doing. I thought maybe he was irritated about certain interviews. Then I thought about how I act at the track.
69th like. Your welcome.
@Channing White I downvoted your comment on principle.
@Channing White I just think you have to be dead serious about you do when you're consistently chasing six's. It's clearly the line that separates the Men from the boys. Cheers.
This was the most serious I have ever seen Cleetus . First time hitting the gas the OMG moment in his eyes was priceless
Right.....From concentrated stare to full blown 'Holy Crap' dinner plate eyes. I've never seen utter shock in him before.
His eyes were so wide he could see all them futures Dr strange saw in endgame 🤣🤣
When he first ran Warbird he was pretty terrified. It just goes to show how much of an animal this car is though.
Nawwww he is like this in Warbird every time before a burnout. All business with someone else's machine.
woohoo!! AWESOME!
"Was For Sale..."
"Now All My Other Cars Are Going To Feel Slow..."
Yeah Ol'Cleet for sure bought her lol
🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲
“Price goes up if she goes 5.99”
@@redneckarmyvet9003 does the price go down for needing new chutes? Lol
well he does have his el camino, maybe making the freedomino a sub 6 car?
Only thing that makes me doubt is him saying he’s fired up to be going 6’s in mullet all the time.
@@redneckarmyvet9003 oh shoot, I didn't even think of that. I thought he meant his price to be at the track goes up if it goes 5.99.
The fact Steve Morris is teaching cleet about the engine, really makes me think he bought it!!
When he said if it goes a 5.99 the price goes up. I'm pretty sure that means he is buying it lol.
That and Steve morris said "I'll give you a refresher course on drag week and all that too"
That’s prob why Tom is making the Nomad.
Read in his description that lets me know Cleet bought it.
On Steve’s channel little bit back he was building a SMX engine for Cleetus and haven’t seen the motor on anything in the regular fleet wanting 3k + go so it could have been cleetus engine in that car
Steve, Tom, Cleet, all in the same video, this is the best thing I've seen in my life
The baddest of the baddest right there.
My life is complete.. haha
You need to get out more
should be done more often
@@stefandwoodham only if there wasn't a pandemic outside that would kill me if I get the rona
My man knows when to be Cleetus and when to be Garrett. This car is beyond no joke. Big ups to Tom as well. I don't think non car people understand how big of a deal it is to let someone else drive your car when it is at this level. I would imagine less then 4 people have ever driven this car other than Tom.
In Cleetus video he said this is the first time anyone other than Tom has driven it on the drag strip.
@@thedestroyer3262 yeah I heard that too. I watched this before Cleetus' video and didn't bother coming back to change it. Does not surprise me one bit.
my heart started racing when Tom started saying chutes chutes and clet had already pulled the handle. man what a ride that must have been
The nervous jokes coming out of cleet are gold. Cant blame him though. Thats a hell of a unit
The feeling of coming off the trans brake on a car like this must be terrifying, i bet getting up on the 2 step is scary enough 🤣🤣
Like being hit in the ass by an 18 wheeler going a 100 mph.
When he stood on it proper his eyes lit up like he seen a YZ 80 under the Christmas tree 🤙🏽
Hats off to Tom and Steve ...Awesome to show and teach Cleatus about the car and then show him and work with him how to maintain and drive a car that caliber...If you listen to things they say as he's working on it Steve and Tom both lay little hints of him purchasing the car...???? Bet he did by it!!! Hope so he deserves it...Tom build something new and crazier I bet. Congratulations Cleatus you deserve it.You showed he can drive it!!! Great first passes!!! What a bunch of great guys! Moving on up to the top!!!!
"The price goes up if it goes 5.99" guess ol cleet did buy it 😂😂😂
I’d be very surprised if Tom sold his first pride & joy.
Plus what about the Elco that KSR is building. 🤔🤔
I caught that also.
Ofcoarse he bought it. Why would he be getting valve lashing lessons from the Meister. This was a turn over day.
@@davidmunday4099 He probably bought it as it was the car that started it all, without this car Cleetus would not exists.
@@davidmunday4099 tom had the car for sale.
How AWESOME is Tom Bailey and his team!!! You guys ROCK!!!
All yall sitting here saying he bought toms car, completely overlooking the fact he was taking lessons from Steve about the SMX powerplant....... that he bought for the Elco. This was a demo run for him to meet Steve and see what the SMX can do. 💥💥
There isn’t a smx in the elco,it’s a Texas speed 427,Steve did build an engine for cleet, but he hasn’t shown it on the channel yet.
Naw that was the old engine. New one you just saw run in toms car. That was the elco engine.
.....and I don’t mean LIKE the elco engine. That WAS the elco engine. Hence why he said this is a brand new engine so here’s what we are going to do for the first time.
Or cleat bought the engine out of 1.0. Bailey saying he wants to put a smx in 1.0 to go faster. Many possibilities....
@@scottterwiel I don’t think so because a couple months ago on Steve Morris RUclips channel,Steve built a motor for cleet.he hasn’t talked about it for some reason but I don’t think he would buy two?? Idk though lol
One day that will be the first car you see when you enter ol' Cleetus McFarland's Museum.
I don’t think Corey would buy that he’d kinda a small tire guy
At least next to Leroy.
@@umunhum leroy probably be the first car in the museum
Many fast cars coming out of the wood; Tom's Sick Seconds, Cleetus' "The Mullet", Alex Taylor's 55 Gasser and Justin's Lexus to name a few.
On the last run, Tom grew more grey hair; Chute! Chute! Chute! Chute! Glad Cleetus came out safe and the car in racing preparedness.
Thanks all for a great video and Godspeed!
Cleet gave a few friends their first 8 second pass so it's cool to see you help him with his first 6 second pass
Everytime I see a video of Tom, It leaves me saying " Tom Bailey is just the coolest guy ever" Great job to everyone
With all the Cleetus fans here I think it's worth mentioning. It's obvious that Six seconds is where you separate the Men from the boys. It's clearly a much more serious game and you have to respect folks like Tom and Steve who are prepared to compete at this level. Great channel, even better content. Cheers Michael in Toronto.
Never seen cleater looking so serious and a little nervous, you can see now how quick mullet will be
i think it has just dawned on him that to go this fast everything needs to be spot on. something not in Cleeter's vocab lol
It reminds me of his attitude with Warbird and Killa Bee. He's okay breaking his own cars, but is incredibly careful with anyone else's. That's respect for the craft
Mullet won't be that fast. They'd have to re-tub the car and and re-fab the whole bed.
@@vincem5 im pretty sure thats why hes not building the elco
Well, remember, Cleeter had Steve Morris build him an engine...we just haven't seen what it's going in yet.
This is the evolution of racing.
This is how racing should be.
This is something to be proud of.
Thank you and your team for sharing your wisdom and trust.
God bless America! 🇺🇸🙏🏼❤️🎸
Tom and Steve, 2 of the most humble guys you can meet. New subscriber here.
there could have been no better way to come back full circle.
good work tom and cleeter.
Wow, when ol Cleeter let go of that button, he entered another spacetime dimension. What a video, LEGENDS!! Thanks Tom for making this happen. What a ride.
Ol Cleet, proud owner of a sick second car.
Tom Bailey & Steve Morris are a deadly combination when building, driving and maintaining a top notch drag/streetcar
What an awesome machine you guys have built Tom. Garret is one hell of a driver but it's definitely a testament to the build that it has enough brakes to back her down from 224 with no shoots, simply amazing. We've all seen cars in the sand because the driver has no other choice when brakes or shoots fail, not your build. The fact that it also just turns in 6 second pass after pass is just insane. Thank you for letting ole'Cleetus break off both his first 6 second passes and first 220+mph runs in one day. It's fitting in a way that the car that really helped create his channel and the "Cleetus" character he does or honestly kind of his is just fitting. So thanks again, you've gained a sub from me and I'm looking forward to following you this race week and the other content you create. Honestly I've seen you and your cars on other channels and never thought to look for your channel, v8 face palm moment I know. Again just an insane build and I look forward to whatever else you come up with...
Thanks Tom, you are quite the gentleman to let Clete send it! Awesome builds...
Tom your the GOAT for lettind ole Cleeter do this!!!
Hey Tom, Cleetus sent me. Can’t wait to see more videos.
Wow absolutely love this video must give a big shout out to Tom Bailey in Steve Morris For putting this deal together how fitting the car that started Cletus' career and now him making a 6 second pass in the car you guys are absolutely awesome Can't wait for your channel to hit a million subsYou guys deserve it
19:46 26:44 Went by Tom at the top end, instantly I thought, this ain't no souped up Corvette. Tom, I'd like to see Cleet train to escape. Suited up, belted, tape over visor so he's blinded, see how fast he can get out.
That was awesome Tom. Cleetus may play the part of a crazy Florida man, but he's actually has brains and talent.
You don't get where Clewtus is without brains and talent.
He was going to law school
@@haworthlowell805 cleetus’s “hell yeah brother” persona is an act. The man is brilliant. Can’t get where he’s at being dumb
imagine we had legend friends like Tom let you ride his 6 sec car and master engine builder Steve take the time to show you a few things around a 2600hp+ motor---Cleet,you are surrounded by some top people💯!awesome video Mr Bailey👊🏽!
Shout out to Tom Bailey.. It takes a special kind of person to just hand over their race car and let someone else do a full 1/4 mile pass in it.
What a legend.
Thanks Tom.
That was awesome that you guys gave cleetus the opportunity to drive one of the baddest rides on earth
That was amazing. Great video. Thanks Tom, Steve and crew, a job well done. Top marks to Cleetus, so cool under pressure with no chute.
Love the content Tom! Also props for calling yourself out on the visor. We all make mistakes, but sometimes we can't afford to make those mistakes. I really appreciated those saftey videos. Really educational stuff.
Cleetus' visor was up too, and the vibration brought it down.
@@theoldbigmoose cleetus has said a few times it's a bad habit that he needs to get out of doing but once it becomes normal for you it's a hard thing to break.
On today's episode, why you should throw the chutes on the check-out pass....
Amazing! Thanks for letting Cleetus drive this amazing machine!
"Was For Sale..."
Yeah Give it to Cleetus.
It's the car that made him started his career...
bet cleets farther would buy it and put it in a press : it was the car that made him quit his study as a lawyer
.......... naaaah he doing better then he ever would as a lawyer i think , he has more fun doing it too
it would make sense for him to buy the car that started everything.
also mad respect to Tom for letting others drive his car, I would never trust anyone that much.
How would it though it’s not gonna generate any more revenue he’d just be buying it for a. Toy. And cause of sentimental value.
@@rachaeldesjardins8043 exactly for sentimental value, he has enough revenue material so can prob afford a "toy".
The ones who get big enough often seek out what got them started in the first place, as a trophy.
As cool as this car is with the elco pretty much done it makes 0 sense for Cleetus to buy this very expensive car
Love seeing Garret going 6 seconds on the track I grew up on…131 for life…. Common drag week..can’t wait for this summer..Great Job by Steve & Tom letting the ol Cleeter give up his cherry in 1.0 👍
I take my hat off to you Tom Bailey, this is the best thing I've watched in years. 👌👍👌
Letting Cleetus learn and get ready for Mullet in your car has to be the most, I was so nervous for all of you but as the utter professionals you are, it payed off, even when the chutes failed at 224mph.... 👍💪😮😮
When Cletus said his nervousness just washed away after the burnout you'll never know how that feels unless you've experienced it and let me tell you it is awesome . Super excited to see where this all ends up
Time for go mode, think about things after.
It's truly something you can't explain unless you're one of those people that don't have the natural talent to drive a car of that caliber, notice he never Panicked when the Chutes didn't open.
I know the feeling well. When I was racing gokarts with a 100cc 2-cycle I would be nervous as hell going to the starting grid and cool as a cucumber after the engine fired up and was going out on the track.
That was great to see good on you Tom letting Cleetus drive it.
Wouldn’t doubt if it’s his car now.

Tom your an amazing person to give cleetus the opportunity to drive your ride and meet his goals. I was almost as excited as he was when he strapped in.
That was so nice of you to let Cleetus take the monster down the track. I was crapping my pants when I heard you say, chute, chute, chute after Cleetus had pulled the handle. Damn!
Wow what an opportunity for Cleetus !!! Just hooked up with your channel through Cleetus and loving it ✔️✔️✔️
So awesome you shared that with Cleeter! Put a new fire in him!

So proud of cleatus and how far he has come as a Driver it had been a blast following him on his journey thank you guys for supporting him much love....
Love the content! Great collaboration between Tom and Cleetus. We will know soon enough if Garrett bought the car or is simply doing drag week in it.
That car is insane. It just puts in work. A nice addition to Cleets fleet, for sure!
The car is so well built,so well thought out it obviously makes 6 second passes effortless for the driver. VERY few cars are that well built. Salute!

I like your attention to safety. After watching donut media’s video on Dale Earnhardt’s crash and reading the autopsy report, it’s good to see.
It would be interesting for them to do some diagnostic on why the parachute failed to pop!
