Band Maid is the best hard rock band for the last 10 years not only in Japan, but in the whole world!!! This band absolutely amazing. Welcome to the Band Maid world!!!
Great reaction and their instrumentals are used to give their singer (Saiki) a chance to rest her voice. The guitar player with the pig-tails (Miku) is the one that worked in a maid cafe and had the idea to create a band that mixed cute maids with heavy rock, it's called the "gap" - what you see if so different from what you hear. Also, they call themselves "hard rock" even though they use elements from all genres. They also compose all their own music since 2016 (they formed in 2013 and the music was provided by the label). Thanks for reacting to Band-Maid. As you listen to more of their music you will realize that they are a once in a generation band, extremely talented musicians, a genius composer (lead guitarist Kanami), an exceptional bassist (MISA) and a powerful drummer (Akane). They couple all that with a power house singer (Saiki) and lyrics by Miku. Most of their newest music videos have English subtitles supplied by the band so the translation is pretty accurate. Thanks for reacting to Band-Maid. Subbed
PRS guitars recently held a public product introduction in Tokyo. Paul Reed Smith flew over personally to present Kanami with her own signature model PRS guitar at the show. Kanami Töno isn't just the first Japanese guitarist to receive a PRS Signature model, she's also the first female guitarist to receive such a guitar from PRS. Other guitarists that PRS has honored with a Signature guitar are Johnny Mclaughlin, Mark Tremonti, Carlos Santana, Mark Holcomb, and John Mayer, placing Kanami Töno into a highly esteemed group of guitar legends. Band-Maid's genre ranges from pop to experiment prog rock and all points in between. Maybe your lady friends will come around if you play them Band-Maid's "About Us", "Wonderland", "Daydreaming", or "Endless Story".
A few years back Herman Li guitarist and composer for Dragon Force had a interview slash audition with Miku and Kanami on his twitch stream and they played this together. It's on RUclips still.
Great compositions every time. Despite the Maid costumes, they don't use sex to sell...just pure competence, development, dedication and originality. For gentler rock try their recent 'Endless Story' Official Live...the emtional closer to their 10th Anniversay concert with huge crowd in Yokohama 👌❤🤘🤘🤘
I also thought we should recommend a few ballads, the music which would not be perceived as "noise." I would say, "about Us" and "Memorable" would be a good choice. Of course, "Bestie," especially since it's completely in English, and the lyrics are so touching. Then whatever can be found in public access from their Acoustic OKYUJIs (BAND-MAID uses this Japanese word for their live concerts, literally it means "serving" and refers to the Maids serving you food etc.). Maybe "Daydreaming" could be a good choice as well. It's a harder ballad, but still a ballad. Maybe "Awkward" and "anemone." There is a wonderful fan-made music video for "anemone," but I don't know if it can be found on RUclips.

although these ladies consider their core sound to be hard rock, they dont really care about genre, they can and do use every genre/sub genre of rock and metal, its all about what Kanami the lead guitarist hears in her head, she is the main music composer for the band
I'm fairly certain that everyone here can easily name all of them plus their nicknames LoL. Lemme give you a hand, Band-Maid plays everything. They mix, match, bend and blend genre's at will. But by and large they're considered a Progressive Rock Band.
B-M is great, Japan rabbithole is deep for rock / metal. Hope you'll check out LOVEBITES. All female heavy metal band, heavily influenced by 80s metal and sing in English. You should try Holy War or Judgement Day live. Band-Maid, Lovebites are next level for their respective genres. 🤘
I would say they make nearly all men look bad. When men play songs like this they tend to look dour and serious. Band Maid are always smiling and having a great time. Which would you rather watch?
The Maid's are their own genre! Hard rock, rock, thrash metal, they just pick and choose, blending it all together brilliantly!
