This week was a week of catch-up after a fast and furious lambing session last week.
We sorted and vaccinated replacement ewe lambs, got some creep areas set up, and a HUGE surprise showed up mid-week!!

Awww. I want Derpy when she retires from the breeding job 😂 She just doesn't quite seem to understand that her head doesn't belong in small spaces. She'd make a great "backyard" ewe. Give her a few friends, and a good run pen with a barn, and she'd be set for the rest of retirement... Just watch that head 😆

Thanks for another great video. I love that you show all aspects of your operation to include the family farm. I feel that here in the US there is such a disconnect from farm to market for consumers. They don't realize the amount of time, energy, and cost involved in farming. I look forward to all your videos. I don't think you realize what an inspiration you are to so many people.

I absolutely love watching the "Running of the Lambs"!!! I could put it on a loop and watch all day. Hmm, maybe you could put together a compellation of nothing but the lambs running back and forth, all the lambs from when you started vlogging until now? I could watch that day in and day out, every day as a pick me up!!!

I killed myself laughing at the ewes doing Zoomies. It is cute when the lambs do it whilst the ewes eat but hysterical seeing their Mom's do it like carefree lambs.

I could never figure out how huge farm machines could sweep through a field of corn and separate the tiny kernals from the plant. I finally had to watch a youtube video of the process. I spent my morning getting groceries and then watering my garden and cleaning my birds cage and I finally finished all that and had a shower because damn is it hot out. I got to sit down and watch another video. Best time of the day. Also really like how you gave them shots after they tuckered themselves they're eating. They're too sleepy to resist.
When the Lams run it like a flood they pick up stray lams as they pass by. LOL

I remember some precious lamb being able to jump up on to the creep feeder. Once up, it can cross to the other side. Not a bad problem , but expect it someday.

be ready to heighten the gate at the split feeder...they are always playing king of the feeder and while the bottle babies can't really climb on top the others can! can't wait to see how the last group weighes out for market...they are a good looking group. Happy to see Jack is doing well and enjoy the crap out of the kids this summer....even if you don't wana think about it September is not far off😞😞

Sandi, do you ever hear that you resemble Alanis Morrisette? I swear when you wear you hair down or you hats in the winter it's uncanny. My husband when he saw you for the first time he even said "When did Alanis start sheep farming?!" So I know it isn't just me! Haha! I also love her and think she's beautiful so for sure a compliment ❤

Sheep are excellent at getting trapped in the most ridiculous ways. It's one of life's mysteries.
All those painted lambs are just gorgeous looking and are the best surprises. Yeah play time with the younger older sheep….. your surrounded by a bunch of 4 yrs olds…they are funny! Wonder why you don’t get more black female lambs? That’s very cool your helping that 4h kid start own herd.
I've been dying to hear about your strategy/rationale for how you select your replacement ewe lambs. I FINALLY got the answer. It amazes me how sheep produces use very similar criteria... We just prioritize traits in different orders. (I am a BIG believer in strong ewe lines, even more so than sire lines.) Thanks for explaining it!
