    Great video as always Cheryl, I also wanted to say thank you. I bought some Ponte Roma fabric from you with the jersey 10 code. It was the most beautifully packaged parcel I’ve ever received and with such attention to detail. I wish you every success with your business. And I can’t wait to get sewing. Thank you. K

    Thanks for another fab video. I love your Emma dress - it’s the sort of thing I live in at work so I’m looking forward to making my own! I wasn’t that taken by the Alice top but you’ve convinced me to give it a go! I’m thinking that I may hack it into a dress... we’ll see! Hope you have a lovely week! xx

    Thank you for sharing! Both look good on you! An FYI on your commenting on washing fabrics, wash fabrics only is they are washable. I recently bought stretch velour to make some tops and they were labeled dry clean only. Always know how your fabric should be cleaned prior to purchase.

    All the pieces look great on you, love the red knit detail. I absolutely love Ponte de Roma and Liverpool those are my favorite knits. I was thinking you were going to mention the waist being to high, at least you know once you make it again with the adjustment the dress may hit at the bottom how you like. I like using washi tape or masking tape to mark fabric when both sides look alike. The fabric is beautiful.

    I love your pattern reviews. I want to buy all the patterns you review. It’s nice to have reviews by someone-and I mean this in a very positive way- who is a little older and not super skinny. Being older myself it’s great to see how these patterns might look on me. And your reviews inspire me to try patterns I might have passed over. And I love all your fabric!

    Great review Cheryl. I love the fabric on your dress. You've inspired me to buy the navy polka dot and I also bought some of your scarlet red scuba for contrasting cuffs, pockets and collar as I'm going to make Tilly & The Buttons Franscoise dress. I bought enough of both to make a red one with contrasting navy polka dot cuffs, pockets and collar! Thanks so much for the discount! Look forward to seeing your denim review. Have a great weekend xx

      Stitchy Bee I’ve just also bought the Classy Kate slinky jersey as I can’t get your comment out of my mind that it feels like fabric from Phase Eight. That was my fav rtw shop before I started making my own clothes and am always on the look out for fabric like the clothes they sell!😻

    Hi Cheryl! Enjoyed your video as always. Tips are great and your lessons learned. Really, really liked your red accents on your dress! It took the pattern from no frills to cute! I'm definitely going to do that! The high waisted look is everywhere. I'm not a great fan but bringing the waist down would take the pattern away from such a young look! I love strips also! I think you should call the grey strip, Earl Grey Stripe! Yes, then the dress would be my Earl Grey! Always nice to have a fine looking man around...

    Great video as always! I have those patterns too. With Emma I love the bodice but I found the pleats at the back of the dress never really sat flat and they stick out too much! The Alice top is so lovely but it’s so low cut 🤦🏼‍♀️ I must try again and sort that out.. the way the top is made with that “burrito” roll is really great!
    Loving your polka dot with red details!!! Such a lovely combo!!

    Cheryl I love your vlogs! I think the polka dress would look great with thick tights and clumpy boots to de-girlify the look. I find I wear winter dresses much shorter than I'd dream of in summer. Somehow wearing tights or leggings makes me feel I can get away with it.

    I think you look amazing in that dress even though it looks short. I would wear it with thick black tights and that way it wouldn't look so short..would look great I think! Well done on the make anyway.

    Thank you for advice for Alice top, I haven’t seen that one up yet! Really excited for your denim video! I want to tackle jeans this year at some point. Can you please include about why denim is often sold with a weight description? Can heavy and light weight denims be interchanged on most patterns for a different finish? Would love to hear your thoughts and tips! ❤️ thank you, Stef

    Here in the states, a lot of women wear black leggings under their dresses. It looks very feminine. I adore the dress that you made. I love the detail that you did on the sleeves & the pockets. I do like the blouse. But, at my age I really don’t want such a low bee neck either. The fabrics that you showed in the video before are gorgeous. Where do you purchase them? I love florals.

      Sharon Arrendale thank you Sharon, yes I’m a leggings girl too, so comfy 👍🏻 I source my fabric from many different wholesalers, it’s a long process choosing just the right ones for my online shop, but I love it 🌷

    Why not make the dress longer by using some of the red material as a panel at the bottom. It would look more sophisticated and it wouldn't feel too short if there was gust of wind. However just clocked the date of video, you probably don't even have the dress anymore.xx

    Hi Cheryl love your Emma dress especially the flashes of red.
    I wanted to know if there are any patterns suitable for scuba fabric. What kind of things do you have to bear in mind when sewing with scuba. Would you look for patterns for knits in general?

    • @StitchyBee
      @StitchyBee  6 лет назад

      MsHipmonkey Hi, I’d pic the Moneta Dress or Agnes top for scuba. Choose patterns which are aimed at ponte roma, and when you work with it, make sure your nails are a smooth - it snags more easily, especially be careful on a plain fabric 👍🏻

    Hi Cheryl. A helpful vlog as I’m booked on the Emma Dress course. I wanted to put a zip in jersey so interesting to hear it doesn’t need one!😆 I thought the skirt was a lot fuller than I realised and may need to extend bodice as 5.7. Do you think this would work in a light/medium weight or just ponte? It’s very pretty( I’ll make mine longer though!😆)Thank you. Ruthx

    • @StitchyBee
      @StitchyBee  6 лет назад +1

      Ruth Lanwarne thanks Ruth, yes I’d definitely lengthen the bodice on you, and maybe a lighter fabric will remove the fullness? Enjoy. 💐
