    They both look beautiful Cheryl especially the striped lining. I got the Frankie Tee from a sewing magazine site so that is my next thing to trace off. I am on the quest for my perfect raglan top pattern. I made my girls hoodies when they were little and I often used cotton for the hood and pocket lining as it doesn't need to stretch. Look forward to a designer video, I like Halla patterns they are very simple great fit and easy to put together and if you join their FB page you get a code for free ones which aren't the usual "just been made for free" but are the actual patterns My favourite top is their slim dolman and that was free. They are worth a look.

    I've made four Stella Hoodies and It's such a fun project. I enjoyed seeing your versions, especially with the lower band idea. Have to try that! I made a size 5 for myself and my 12 yr old grandaughter wanted her hoodie in that size. She likes the oversized, loose feel of it. Thanks for the video!

    Your hoodies look great. I love this pattern and the book. I made one hoodie in wool blend sweatshirt fabric, one in a thin knit fabric and one in jersey for my partner (sized up to men's large). It worked best in sweatshirt fabric with the extra band around the bottom.

    hi Stitchy Bee, I'm making the Stella hoodie now. I had some problems initially finding a needle that would work, but found a blue tipped needle does the job. I have made the hood part which I love in a green patterned French Terry with a mustard liner. It has taken me much longer than 3 hours but I am quite a newbie. Thanks for your tips .

    Beautiful hoodies Cheryl! Love both of them. I just had my Tilly stretch book out the other day looking to see if she had a pair of shorts in there but she didn't. I considered the joggers made into shorts which would be easy enough but I didn't want a tie waist - I was looking for an elastic waist. So I moved on but I'm definitely coming back to the book at some point to make up a few of the patterns. Love Tilly's work too :)

    • @StitchyBee
      @StitchyBee  6 лет назад

      thank you Kathleen 😊 Have a look at the Hudson Pants from True Bias, I think they are elasticated. I bet Jalie patterns have more shorts too.

    • @PsychicKathleen
      @PsychicKathleen 6 лет назад

      I do have a Jalie shorts pattern and made up a toile. They have a wonderful waist band I'll definitely use but the shorts are swimming shorts with a pantie lining I don't really need. They also have pockets on the side - a bit fussy for what I had in mind. I have a couple of patterns on my sewing table now that should work well. :) Thank you for your suggestions Cheryl :)

    Love your vlogs. Just a little tip that keeps all buttonholes from unraveling. Put a little fray check on the thread and they are locked in place. Also in the past we use a small block of wood under the cutter.

    • @StitchyBee
      @StitchyBee  6 лет назад

      thank you 😊 I'm not sure about the lace, it may need to stretch to prevent it tearing when putting the hoodie on, but you could always have a go and see.

    Thanks for the review, this is on my list to make and it's good to see examples of the fabric 'in real life'. Please can you let me know what size hoodie you made, I am finding the patterns in Tilly's book coming up slightly small and short, and I am a 'regular' size 10 - 5ft6 type person! So am contemplating sizing up this time. Also is the neckline uncomfortable at all? It looks high in the book, so also thinking of dropping it slightly...... thank you very much Jane x

    • @StitchyBee
      @StitchyBee  6 лет назад

      thank you Jane 😊 I made a size 5 and it fits well (I wear a 12-14 usually). You're right, the neck is a little high, I think I may lower it next time too. Nice and warm though for winter.

    Hi Cheryl, love your vlogs - so inspiring - thank you. What is the fit like on the Stella? Does it come up baggy or tight? Thanks!

    • @StitchyBee
      @StitchyBee  6 лет назад

      thank you Chris 🌷. The fit is great on the top half, the sleeves are a slim fit, although I find it a little large around the waist/hip area - and I have plenty of tummy to hide too. Next time I'll re-draw the pattern in a little. Hope that helps.

    I received a tube of material that is a stiff jersey from a $5 yard sale box of fabric. It is interlock you think? And this would make a good hoodie? I could use this for one version. I want to make a dress version in printed French terry. I made Tilly's Joani in a printed French terry, it's grey with peach and pink roses, I love It! I like your hoodies, I want to make one soon!

    • @StitchyBee
      @StitchyBee  6 лет назад +1

      thank you Patricia 😊 Not sure about your fabric, I think it sounds different as an interlock is very soft (like vests worn under clothes). French Terry is fab isn't it? Yours sounds lovely.

    Thanks Cheryl - your vlogs are always so good and informative. You are very natural and I really enjoy what you have to show and say! Can you please clarify the difference between French terry and interlock? I can see the interlock is lighter but what is fundamentally different about them?

    • @StitchyBee
      @StitchyBee  6 лет назад

      Physio On The River thank you so much Diana 🌷 French Terry is a lighter weight sweatshirt fabric, like you’d see in a sports shop or Gap. Interlock is a soft jersey - think vests in M&S.
