Yay - a pic of my old green Datsun! Loved my gold wires, 100 spoke and made sure they had a clean after each outing and a coat of silicon spray. They are THE wheel for a lowrider, no doubt.
Florida, USA checking in. I had a 94 Jeep Grand Cherokee with 20" daytons with a 235/35/20. I loved them the way in would shine all the way through the rim. At night they be shining so bright!!
Totally understood I have had them they have worked great, I think my only issue is with the occasional spokes coming loose and leaking. but they are good for a cpl years. But get what you can and have fun!!
I would think the spokes have the tendency to come loose cause they are holding the majority of the weight and flex. I think all would need maintenance tightening everyone in a while no matter what brand.
Availability and price my bro! We’d all love to run Daytons but you can get them and if you wanted to run the risk of importing it’ll cost you the best part of $4000 buy the time you’ve paid shipping, import duties and UK tax
I had a set I put on my Cadillac DTS. I just found that they didn’t hold up to the moisture here in the south... within days they were already rusting at the nipple.. and that wasn’t from direct water. It was water splashing up off the concrete under my shed.. but they do look good in for the price point they are a great rim!
It’s unfortunate but china wire wheels don’t like any kind of moisture, or brake dust for that matter, even if you try hard to keep them clean they will start to rust, Dayton’s are a better investment but it’s a big outlay of funds to get them
@LayNPlay TV Definitely I would try to get as close to the look as possible With some other style like lace locs but with something with better quality because at my a Current situation training wheels are still too expensive For the lack of durability that will not hold up to how long I would be rolling them as my daily until I saved up for real D'z To me low is low and if I couldn't go for the classic American low rider style, Is weather in a wire or a Cragar style or even a moonie or steelie I would have to go European or Japanese lowrider and those have their own own sets of wheels.
@Big Sammy thanks 😊 Right now I'm building a minitruck and what I could afford was some 15" Chrome slotted steelies with dog dishes. Is it ideal?... no but it's just unique enough to convey the theme across to those in the know. Is it the perfect situation?...no, but it's a step in the right direction and it will never be perfect until it's done, and it won't be done until it's perfect.
I’ve never been lucky enough to own a set of Dayton’s but from what I hear they don’t have leak issues, but any China’s I’ve owned that have leaked have been an easy fix, it’s normally caused by tyre fitters damaging to rubber seal inside the rim.
A worthy debate Pete. I still have a set of Pinnacle 100 spokes that I got from the US in about 2001. Still never been outside. I don't know if they are US made or Chinese/Taiwanese made, but I do coat them in WD40 regularly.
Thank you! There was a period when ‘China’s’ seemed to be much better, back when Bling Rims shipped and supplied before the exchange rate and import duty made USA supplied wheels (albeit made elsewhere) unviable, but the current crop of wheels are made so cheap the other factories couldn’t compete anymore, hence why the market is now flooded with wheels from (what I believe to be) one factory in Ningbo.
WD40 acts as a water disperser, so as long as whatever your spraying on is clean it’ll protect by leaving a film that water and other contaminates can’t penetrate. I tend to clean my wheels before a show, then again after the show, then dry, then coat with WD40 (from a pump spray bottle not an aerosol can). Then the wheels will stay protected whilst the car isn’t in use, then clean again before the next show etc. I also find that china wire wheels will rust from the nipples, so the WD40 runs into the threads and behind the nipples and protects there too.
Man, coming late to the party, looking for set of these type of rims in either 18 or 20 inch to fit a 2006 Altima. Yea, I want to be different ❤❤❤ wire rims set any ride off, with the spinners too. But these rims have a deep disk look to them?

I think the raw materials used are the same unless ordered stainless spokes from D, but basically your paying for the name. Just like cars, clothes, food and everything else in the world.

Understood, the issue we have here in the uk is availability, if a set of Dayton’s is $3000, they’ll cost $5000 once they’ve landed in the uk and taxes have been paid, and that’s if they actually turn up! I’m of the opinion that you do what you can with what you’ve got, Lowriding ain’t about spending the most money and being the best, it’s about being part of a family, those with Daytons respecting the journey of those with Chinas and vice versa.

Get some Dayton’s playa!
One day!
Now I just need to somehow explain why I'm putting wire wheels on the prius.. 🤔🤣
You don’t need to explain it to nobody bro! You do you! We’ll be the first person to like the pic when we see it!
Shit try buying some 24-inch all gold stagger daytons for 20k
No thanks! 😂
Wheels are wheels 👌🏼
Word

Us too!
I love China’s! ❤️
We do too
The same here because I ride what I can afford
Yes they are because there NOT Dayton lol
Dayton’s are so much better, but so much more expensive!
Welcome to Europe -- Enjoy your NHS ... ha ha! I'll take Daytons cheaper ... :P
I’d rather have free health care than a set of D’s lol
@@LayNPlayTV Everyone says that until you're paying 21% sales tax on EVERYTHING, 6 dollars a gallon for gas, and get crappy care for the amount of money they take. But to each their own ;-)
Nope... china made wheels have low quality chrome. Thin metals and sometimes not even actual steel.
Plenty of videos out there showing the dangers.
Now, if you can only afford,.. or can only find... well whatever. Its your life.
I would never wear fake gold or fake shoes.... so why put fake wheels on my baby?
Understood, the issue we have here in the uk is availability, if a set of Dayton’s is $3000, they’ll cost $5000 once they’ve landed in the uk and taxes have been paid, and that’s if they actually turn up! I’m of the opinion that you do what you can with what you’ve got, Lowriding ain’t about spending the most money and being the best, it’s about being part of a family, those with Daytons respecting the journey of those with Chinas and vice versa.
@@LayNPlayTV i feel ya on that. Availability is a mf.
Personally i spent close to $4500 with tires, blancing and shipping. And it took 8 months to get them. But mine are truspoke not dayton.
Its about the quality homie.
Im sure you dont rock newbalance shoes right? Nah.. you buy them nikes ...

Word, you don’t have to spend the most money to feel included
Daytons or nothing... If you can't get some Daytons, just roll the stock wheels..
Stock over china’s? 🤔
Your completely wrong 🤦♂️
@@LayNPlayTV I'm from the old school of low riders... You will get laughed at pulling up with some Chinese wire wheels.. Kinda like going to play basketball with some slippers on your feet..
I love my chinas

In the USA I’m pretty sure CCE do the cheapest 13s and 14s
All wires look the same I'll buy any one I can afford....got a good deal on some all gold players and I'm happy as hell
I called DAYTONS themselves in Dayton Ohio I asked for all gold 13” knockoffs after taxes and shipping & rims & hardware only, no tires, round it off to about a clean $10,000 cash for the rims only ….. 😳 I don’t have that kinda money but can I get it? Save up? 🤔 give me about a good year yeah do I want them all gold 13” Daytons for my 2 door 64 impala!? Damn right I do who doesn’t ! 🤗😂 but if I can sport some chinas now? why not I would I’m not gonna lose sleep over it and if the haters gonna hate then let them buy you them all gold Daytons take a chill pill bro, don’t worry be happy, why can’t we all just get along, hello darkness my old friend, here’s my number 976- 😂
Preach brother! We’d all prefer to run Daytons but unfortunately the majority of us don’t have Dayton money, so what do we do? It’s a shame the market has forced us into running china wire wheels but the quality isn’t as bad as people make out, and they still look dope on your ride!
