Would love to hear your thoughts about setting up this shelter above treeline and what modifications you plan to make. I believe there is a major Sierra thru hike that I did not hear you mention. This is the Sierra High Route as originally scouted by Steve Roper. It is 195 miles long, and is a cross country hiking route, no defined trails like the JMT, Tahoe Rim Trail, or the High Sierra Trail. This route is described in Steve Roper’s book, Sierra High Route: Traversing Timberline Country. This route crosses 33 passes and barely touches any established trails. Let me encourage you to consider making this your next Sierra adventure.
