Thanks! Both companies make purpose driven outdoor clothing great for backpacking.

Nice. The Kumo pack looks interesting. I have their Mariposa 60 and Vagabond Trail packs. I like built in mesh shoulder pockets.

Both great packs. I used the Mariposa on the John Muir Trail.

I use the Ventus the same exact way. It's perfect for a main layer in the winter trips and I use it when a puffy is unnecessary in the warmer months.
Try using fishnet base layers. They pair perfectly with the Ventus due to it's under arm vents.
Why do you need the pelaton if you have the Ventus?
I dig my gossamer gear poles. Very light and if they do break you can buy the replacement parts. I live in PA and even with all the rocks I don't have issues with them breaking

Interesting that you bring up the fish net stuff. I’m looking at it after listening to a podcast where it was mentioned.
I use the Pelaton in the sierra but I take my puffy out there no matter what the month because it can get cold. We summited Whitney last July and the air temps were 32 at the summit. I always take my puffy out there.
Same experience with the GG poles as well. Carbon is far more brittle that aluminum so I can see how they could fail if you fall and brace on them.

@@juanbackpacks I am jealous. I want to get out to the JMT and also Summit Mount Whitney. Take me with next time! Do you ever hike in the Whites?

@@juanbackpacks Yes, I really liked how well the fishnets worked. I got mine from Wiggys.

@@stoicodysseys6352 I’ve never hiked the Whites… yet. 2024 will be the first year I don’t hike a long trail in the Sierra. I think I’m doing the Uinta Highline this year. I’ve got to work out the logistics though.

@@juanbackpacks That seems like a good one. Maybe you'll run into Tayson out there!
