backlight control is an awesome feature thats lacking in other phones. Its these clever software things that makes sony unique on top of everything else aready edge leadiing. I wonder how the display on this compares to the s8 since its touted as the best display right now .

Im a huge sony fan but I was really impressed with the S8 screen and thought no other phone could ever beat it. The fact that the XZP stounds is amazing since the s8 screen is already amazing.
The 4K resolution kicks in only on several apps ie RUclips & Album. But you can override this manufacturer settings easily using a pc. Visit Damir Franc's channel for tutorial. Then the already good display will be even astounding.

Haven't read down, but if no one has already said all these tips work for all X Series phones, except for the 4K. Cheers for the info my XA response is a lot faster now and the screen stays lit.
daniel ramirez i ordered a few screen protectors to try and ill let you know if i find a good fit. i think just a film not tempered glass might do the job.
I have a full coverage screen protector on mine that is glass, covers the entire screen with no adhesive band on the edges like yours, and is completely transparent. I got it from Ali Express. I also got another one from the UK which is also full coverage, but the top and bottom where the bezels are have a different colour finish that doesn't match the phone, but you might like it. That one took a long time for deliver (~2 weeks), but I'm in Canada, and since it came from the UK, that probably won't be an issue for you. I got that one from ultimateshield.co.uk. I definitely would recommend glass over film. My gf has film on her S7 and now that it has been a few months, it looks horrendous. It's pitted and scratched everywhere.
After using the tip to speed up the phone I have lost all sound on Music and Apps, any ideas please. I have put all 3 settings back to 1.0 but hasn't made any difference, NO sound!!

Just ordered mine today from Three ( banging deal Inc 100 quid discount on early upgrade again ). Question, what's with the glass screen protector? Looks like it does the same as my wife's S7 ( sides not stuck to glass ). Reason I'm ditching my S7 edge is cos I can't get a decent screen protector for the edge display, even the bodyguardz full body kit ordered from Singapore lifted down the sides !

tenzing yangzom xz premium man, xz1 is the sucessor of xz, wich have the 3d creator, but xz premium will have the software with google oreo, so you'll go with xzp which is better
Hi tenzing yangzom. If money is not an issue go for the XZ Premium. The XZ Premium outperforms in spec and features, it will also be getting the 3d creator that everyone is talking about

my friend has tested both s7 and XZ. If you do manual mode on both phones and set both on the same Iso (start lower and keep increasing) you will notice sony has better noise. In manual mode im not sure any phone can beat the sony low light or otherwise. the XZP is amazing and sony's best phone also very underrated. But i might wait for IFA 2017 before I decide which one i want. IFA 2017 rumored xz1 to have samsung like aspect ratio though. Not sure if i like sony following samsung.
+Jazz ! In slow motion the camera flickers if you are filming LED lights. LEDs turn on and off very very fast. So if your filming at 960fps the camera picks up the flickering. If your filming any other ligh there is no flickering at all

Lately, there is a public outrage from the consumers in regards to the image distortion taken by this phone, as seen from various forums where people are complaining about how the wide angle of this camera lenses are unable to adequately capture pictures-pictures are distorted where building shot from a distance would look bent and pictures of people taken from some angles would make their head extra "vertical". Google this issue to learn more. I'm interested in your thoughts about this because it seems that everyone in the forum is agreeing to the issue and Sony is conspiring to hide it from the masses.

Looking at it now i can definitely see a distortion in the middle of the picture on the XZ Premium. I can also see the same thing on my Samsung S7 edge. I think this is to do with the camera lens being wide angle. Never really noticed it until you pointed it out. The image sort of dips in the middle very slightly.

Got this Phone for a week and I really love it,coming from Samsung s6. It runs very smoothly.
But Sony no longer uses its own keyboard. They are actually using the SwiftKey Keyboard as default, which does support swiping.

google keyboard is better. Sony keboard is just not good to use.

+Peter Atkinson theres no reason for the issue to be related to the speed up tip. I've been using the speed up since i got the phone and no problems.

if the XZ1 follows the samsung design with reduced bezels I think Sony will make a very beautiful phone.
Just use 1/30 shuterspeed or lower and decrease the EV.

On the normal slow mo, it's like filming normally but 960fps slow mo isn't good at all in dark lights. Preferably in the sun light
