I always appreciate when someone can show exactly what they are doing. I had to take a second look at those headlight wires. I pulled them apart on my own tractor cause I seen it after I raised the hood. I can't have a dirty engine, so I am always looking under the hoods. Thanks again

I've got the same issue. I believe that the headlights are disconnected, but my fuse blows each time I turn the key. I've even gone so far as to check the stator to make sure none of the magnets were loose or the stator had any damage. So the wire that is hooked to the hot side of the battery goes to a small green connector, which I believe goes into that small rectifier. Even stepping up may still pop the fuse. I've checked all the wiring and they all look good with nothing bare touching each other. I hope to figure it out so the elderly lady can get back to mowing.

They’re 4 positions in the key switch, including the off position.
Which one does the fuse blow?
First position sends power to the head lights (yellow/white wire) and run wire (yellow wire)
Second position one sends power to the run wire (yellow). Goes to the carb fuel shutoff.
Forth one sends power to the run wire(yellow) and to the Starter solenoid (Purple wire) then changes to (purple/white) after the PTO switch .
The run wire (yellow) first goes the the rio switch.
Put your meter on Ohms. Then check for a short to ground on each wire.

Hi, I recently had have the same issue with light wire blowing fuse, but at time I didn’t have fuse to replace so I just made a jumper to put across fuse holder and forgot it in there when finished, now a week later I can’t get any power across, any idea what I burnt out?

Probably you have a bad connection at the battery or fuse holder. Try jump starting it. If it won't turn over, put the key in the "on" position and place a screwdriver across the terminals on the solenoid.
What Ohms reading do you get when you do the check I did at 1:00min in the video?

My old LT133 blew its fusible link wire. Do you think I could replace that with a standard wire with an inline fuse of 20A?

My fuse holder on la 165 is nasty where fuse sits, bought a replacement but only has 2 wires ,any suggestions ,rather than buy new 1

Lots of inline fuses on Amazon. If you want an OEM one, look around on Craig’s list or kijiji for a guy that’s used parts.

I'm blowing fuses and I do not want to have to go threw that bird's nest of wires in there all day long! I have put almost all new parts on this tractor (D140). Selenoid, battery, PTO switch, Key switch, Coils, plugs, gas filter, air filter, gas pump and a new PTO clutch. As well as eliminating all safety switch's. Oh yeah it has all new spindles on the deck! Last fall the blades stopped while mowing. At first I could get them on again but they would stop working after a few minutes and then it got to where I could not get them working and even had trouble starting the tractor. So I just put it away for winter and now I got this mess in the spring. I got it running with some of those new parts and battery.....but then after mowing three yards on my street I could not get it started after it sat for a while. And I found I was blowing fuses!

I’m having the same issue on my cub cadet LT1024. Every time I pull the PTO switch, 2-3 seconds later it shoots the fuse. I suspect a wire short because I have changed voltage regulator with OEM part.

Just follow the wires to the clutch you'll see the problem for sure...

your main jet is plugged in you carburetor. Just clean the bottom of the bowl and main jet. (su surtidor principal está enchufado en el carburador)
