    My comment is totally off-topic, but may be something that will bring a smile. When you spoke of the “crooked” poles, it brought back childhood memories of my Kindergarten teacher’s favorite Mother Goose Rhyme about the crooked little man who lived in a crooked little house surrounded by crooked little things. She was one of the teachers who sparked my life long interest in learning that brought me to your channel.

But instead you admitted it to everyone, fixed it and moved on. Nicely done mate 👍. Also makes me feel a lot better for some of the boneheaded stuff I've done over the years. 😂🤦.

    Around these parts, when you're building a post-and-beam barn, the "nailers" for the siding are referred to as "girts". Not, of course, to be confused with "grits" :) :)

  • @dennishernden2264
    @dennishernden2264 Год назад

    Back in late 80's I installed wooden seawalls, we used jet pump to blow holes to set the pilings, plumb em up, dump a bag of sand down the hole and one on top. The next day from wave action, they were rock solid .. your posts will get more solid over time.
    Our banding was called a "whaler", we had to lag bolt em to the piling under water, bracing was rerod through piling to a horizontal buried "dead man" pole. hard work but fun

    No, you see that was a building strength test. Passed. One hell of a ratchet strap too. Once you get a floor poured (I'm assuming you are gonna get a concrete slab floor) it will help with pole movement considerably.

  • @hfdzl
    @hfdzl Год назад +1

    Look like home to me! When setting poles, etc. instead of putting dirt fill back in the hole, use dry bag cement. It will absorb moisture and set up like the Rock of Gibraltar! Good job always!!

    Lots to unpack in this episode….I just gotta say you have the patience of a saint with your brother. I’d have been cussing when he almost threw you out if that bucket. 😂
    The comment about the Cardinal, well I’ve heard that also. I've actually had a Cardinal land on my driver’s side window seal and peck at the window, as I was sitting in the driver’s seat, pretty cool.
    So all that said, I think one of your first projects or your very first project in your new shop should be your dads old car. I recall you talking about it in one of your first couple of videos you did. You could do a whole series of videos on that old car for sure. I think that would be a great tribute to him.
    Anyway, my 2 cents and that won’t buy a thing. The shop is looking awesome!!

I think your channel is AWESOME !! I especially like your Honesty Chad and show your screw ups. You are hilarious. You remind me of myself in a way. Whenever I do a project I go into it hoping for the best but expect the worse can happen. GREAT CHANNEL AND GREAT PERSONALITY CHAD. There is no doubt that the reason I am here is that you are just a real humble dude Chad. Most of your viewers probably agree. I love when you mess something up and show us all the mayhem! I would make most of the same mistakes you make if I were doing the same job. I love when you had the ladder up on the back tin and were trying the “super stretch” to reach that one screw that was just a bit outside. I would have done the same and most likely fallen off the ladder. Thanks for who you are brother. God bless

    This is going to be an awesome garage , I am kinda jealous. I have a metal garage laying in my back yard for over a year ago, that my youngest son gave me for a Christmas gift. He knows it's always been a dream of mine to have my own garage. I am waiting for my back to get better so I can get this project up and be able to work on anything while being under cover. I have always worked outside in the elements up here in NH. Now that I am 61 years old I don't have so much of an interest working on anything out in the elements. 😂Keep up the great work and the entertainment Chad . I can see you are a Good Godly man. You are starting fresh and Brent from Halfass Kustoms is cleaning up the mess from a shop he built twenty some years ago. While coming back from a road trip to Texas, his garage burnt to the ground and left him a super bad memory of what used to be his place for a good many creations... dang thats horrible to have happen even to a enemy. This should keep ya smiling when ya put yer head down for the evening... if you had PTSD like me, this building wouldn't let ya sleep more than a minute here and there. Looks so nice... even if ya decided to adjust the pole holding stuff on the back of this garage. I near shi* myself as it hurts when stuff like that happens. Glad you could laugh it off as I'd a killed the nearest person to the scene of the crime... just the way my brain works. I sure like the way spray foam works and you just buy the tanks and spray it yourself... most likely way too expensive tho.

Other option is spraying your wood with some sort of poison
