You're right, that's what it's all about hunting with family, your Dad and your brother nothing could be better than that. I miss those day's hunting on our property in Westkill Mountain, Greene County, New York. I lost my Dad in 2002, and my younger 63-year-old brother to cancer in 2018. We sold the property in 1991 when my dad had renal failure, on dialysis for eleven long years. He was a WWII veteran, landed on Omaha Beach on D-Day, my forever hero!

Kevin Cercie, if you have kids, make those same loving memories with them. I'm positive that when you are no longer here, they will cherish and remember them like you are doing with the memories you have when your Dad and brother were alive. Stay safe and stay healthy.

When I hunt with my dad and brother and family it was never about the hunt it was just being together. Didn’t care if we caught anything or not. Just the memories of being together. We enjoy the target shooting more than the hunting of the animals.

Nice job on the cabin , fun times ahead . Might I make a suggestion : get a small electric utility heater - also referred to as a ''Milk House Heater'' - to take off the initial chill until the larger Oil Circulating Heater gets up to temp .

At 3-15, the nicest job can be made better by using strong black plastic bags that fit inside the "waste Bin" when used zip tied & taken home for your trash cans / dumpsters, a sort of Bin & Gone - lol... Love your cabin though

Is it warm enough inside since the walls roof & floor wasnt insulated? I prbly missed yr heater or heat source...if u have a unit there. & do u have a hand sink & or take dry baths ? Ddnt see any running water source..But i like yr extra efforts using reclaimed woods..i do similar smaller projects. Gd luck & enjoy yr cool cabin 👍

If you put a 5gal bucket in the toilet put a liberal amount of saw dust/fine wood chips over any waste materials...there is no odor...make a pallet box outside the camp...dump 5gal bucket when full put wood chips liberally over this also no order...in time this compost can be mixed with dirt and placed on forest floor...

@@TheAverageDan in this day and age, you can't leave any doors or windows unlocked like our Grandparents and their parents did. Back then it was much safer and people respected other peoples properties and vehicles. My Dad said to me, "Now days Private Property means, STAY OUT WE SHOOT TO KILL". BTW he was joking about that, but I don't think some people are joking about that. lol.
