12 Hangboard tips before you add weight

  • Before you load yourself on a hangboard my personal finding is to make sure your form is on point.
    This is a video about what I mean by good form on a hangboard.
    Tip #1: Know your level (1:16)
    Tip #2: Activate from your fingertips (2:18)
    Tip #3: Use a hollow body hold (3:01)
    Tip #4: Reach your legs toward the ground (3:55)
    Tip #5: Beginner climbers focus on 1 min hang on jug (5:18)
    Tip #6: Always check in w/ your body before you hang (6:34)
    Tip #7: Find 6 hand hold positions (7:37)
    Tip #8: Get as much contact as possible (8:23)
    Tip #9: Dont rush to single arm (9:28)
    Tip #10 Look for offset positions (10:00)
    Tip #11: Follow this order (10:27)
    Tip #12: Activate your shoulders before you move (11:50)
